We had tea, coffee, milk and biscuits put out for us, the owners were incredibly welcoming and helpful. Very clean, thoughtfully set out and enough room for my husband and I, and our 2 golden retrievers. A stones throw from a variety of shops and dog friendly cafes and a 6 minute stroll to a lovely huge beach. Highly recommend as a perfect base when visiting this beautiful part of the UK.

  • "We had a wonderful restful stay at Glebe Hall Apartment."

The accommodation was extremely clean, warm, homely and welcoming. Sean would have liked to bring the arm chair home and I loved the comfort of the double bed. Best nights sleep we’d had in months. John, Andrea and their gorgeous dogs, made us feel very welcome and were on hand with advice and handy tips. It’s our second trip to Marske- by- the - sea and we hope to return to Glebe Hall Apartment soon and try John and Andreas Dog House Cafe & Pub. We did forget to let John and Andrea know that the bulb in the hood over the hob needs to be replaced. We enjoyed our stay so much that we didn’t want to leave! Many thanks and warmest wishes, Claire, Sean and Jack the dog

Thank you guys… Really enjoyed having you. Please come back. I will get hood light bulb sorted. Ta John, Andrea and the dogs. Property Owner

Big enough for 2 people - not more. Lovely welcome from the owner and a good location - quiet and close to the sea and town. The kitchen living room area is fine. The bedroom was fine - big enough for a double bed and a wardrobe. The bathroom was a little disappointing. The shower is a small electric unit and the flow was minimal. The silicone sealant around the sink and shower was all blackened. The worst point was that on some days the bathroom smelt heavily of drains - on other days it was fine. The bathroom needs a bit of a refurb.

Hi. Thank you for your comments.I will look into the smell this friday when property is empty, it is the first time someone has mentioned it. We will re seal sink and shower. Thank you John. Property Owner

John was the perfect host , on hand when we needed him giving us great tips on places to visit . The Apartment was cosy clean and very comfortable the fully enclosed private garden was perfect for sitting in with a wine or two while our labrador Alfie did some exploring. You're a two minute walk from the centre of marske with its lovley bars and places to eat ( definitely try in the dog house great cocktails and food ) and just ten minutes from the beach yet tucked away in a peacefull location. A short drive takes you to whitby Staithes and saltburn . We would definitely recommend a stay at glebe hall and would give more than 5 stars if we could Marske is very dog friendly most bars and places to eat allow our furry friends in . Thanks again John for a lovley stay in your beautiful cottage we will definitely be back .

In our opinion it is far superior to your average holiday cottage: little things like USB plug sockets so you can easily charge your gadgets :0) a makeup/ shaving mirror in the bathroom “Proper” Wi-fi, a smart TV, a washing machine and dishwasher all make it feel instantly like home. The owners are really friendly and helpful and their dogs are really sweet too! Marske is like a seaside place that isn’t like a seaside place (no rows of amusement arcades, fish & chip shops and betting shops), however there are plenty of pubs, bars, cafes and food outlets. That was quite true, but actually it's also a very attractive little seaside community, where everyone seems to make you welcome. (This also applies to Saltburn, but Redcar has a few problems). Beaches are splendid, not at all busy, and clean. Had the weather been better we would have explored the Guisborough Forest more. We were slightly worried about using on-street parking, but it was very near and never full. We wondered about the dogs, but they were the quietist trio imaginable. You can take various pleasant ways to get to the beach or cliffs: 10-12 minutes walk. There are handy local shops and some good take-aways (though the best is in Saltburn). We'll probably go again.
