  • "As a family of 10 we loved the communal spaces that accommodated our large group."

The kitchen is well equipped with more than enough items for dining in. The house is decorated and furnished in an eclectic style and the location is great for walking, sightseeing and shopping. The owner provided comprehensive information for using the equipment and good local knowledge for places to visit etc. we particularly appreciated the amount of items in the welcome pack, bread, milk, butter, biscuits, donuts, drinks, fizz, beers, even sweets and Easter eggs for the kids. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend for large family groups.

Thank you very much. We appreciate your kind words. We like to provide a good welcome pack, as often our guests travel from a long way to get to Scarborough, so not having too worry about a cup of tea or coffee when you get here is the least we can do as hosts. Property Owner

  • "We had a fantastic week in Highview!"

! 11 people and 1 dog. Lots of space , all had own bathrooms!! House was always warm and cosy. The welcome pack was amazing and very thoughtful. Owners John and Kim were very helpful and sent us lots of information about the area and checked in with us during our stay with restaurant recommendations. House was in a perfect position looking out over the north bay. Would definitely like to go and stay here again.

Thank you very much for staying with us and treating Highview well. You are most welcome to stay again. Property Owner

  • "The property is in a wonderful location with sea views and an easy walk to the North Bay and the town centre."

Until recently it was a B&B and retains that look and feel. The furniture and decor is a little worn but charming and comfortable. From the ground floor, Kitchen and Dining room, the nearest shared toilet is on the second floor. So a bit of a hike. We had a very enjoyable week and would stay again.

There was everything we needed there for a perfect stay. The rooms were all lovely and tastefully decorated with comfy beds! The showers were all great and worked perfectly. The property is close to all local amenities, such as Peasholm Park and the lovely beaches of Scarborough. Lots to see & do! Highly recommended. We hope to return soon.

Thank You David. It was a pleasure to host you and your family and friends. We would welcome you back any time. Property Owner

  • "High View lives up to its name, with views of castle, sea and headlands."

The property was spacious, clean and well equipped. The owners had thought of those little extra touches like basic provisions on arrival. A good grocery shop round the corner served day to day needs. What to do: plenty! Many kids' attractions like the castle, Water Park, Sea life centre, and of course the beach. Lovely coastal walks and talian gardens. There is more to discover on our next visit. Highly recommended. Jean

Thank you very much for your review Jean. We are very happy that you all enjoyed your time at Highview and in Scarborough. We would look forward to you returning. Property Owner

  • "Perfect location for a short walk to North Bay beach with lovely sand and a couple of shops, and a little further to Peasholm Park."

The chip shop at the bottom of the hill is really nice. 15 mins walk to South Bay for shops and Arcades. Saves finding parking. The house was lovely, with large dining table, Snug for kids, and amazing view from Living room window. The beds were incredibly comfy and suited our large group perfectly. Homeowner John was incredibly helpful and responded immediately to anything we needed. Highly recommend this property.

Thank you very much Karen. The way you guys did not let the weather beat you was brilliant!! You and the family are welcome back at anytime. Property Owner

  • "We came with 3 generations of our family for a week and had a very relaxed time."

I think we used the cars on one day but otherwise found plenty to do in the town itself. Fortunately the weather was quite good so we did quite a bit of wandering and spent time on the beach. John, the host was very helpful with suggestions of things to do and he was very accessible, we felt we could contact him for help and advice. The market hall is certainly worth a visit and the lovely artesan baker provided our lunch on a couple of days. The house is in a lovely position and the sea side of it is especially quiet, apart from the waves. There were 8 of us staying and we had plenty of space, there would certainly have been room for more. The house was well equiped and the details were fairly accurate but I did find the description of the sleeping and bathroom arrangements a bit confusing. Just another point which might be useful for future guests, although there are games to play, there are none provided for under 5s, not a problem but probably useful to know.

Thank you Carole. We are glad that you had a good stay. And thank you for pointing out the clarity around the bedroom description. My view is that if you found it a little unclear, then others will as well. So I'll have that updated . Property Owner

  • "Fabulous family holiday, hosts were very attentive and responsive to email."

There were a few grocery items left when we arrived to tie us over until we managed to do a shop which was really helpful. Property is great for a larger/extended family as you can all spend time together but with it being so big can all have your own space too. Only downside for us was the amount of stairs as we had elderly/heavily pregnant individuals in our party and no telescope in the property (as advertised on the pictures) as this left one of our party particularly disappointed. Would recommend this property and definitely stay again, sea views were picturesque. Thank you for our stay!!

Hi Jan - thank you for your review. We very much appreciate the comments. Concerning the the stairs, it is an unfortunate thing we can not change about the property due to its nature and age. You are very welcome to comeback whenever you like and thank you very much for the respectful state Highview was left in. Property Owner

Lovely stay only issues were the wi fi was not working very well spoilt family view when chilling at night And the heating was at times far too hot tried turning it down only for it to go up again I know this may seem a strange comment but it made for uncomfortable sleeping and of course is wasted energy which is costing some one money The welcome pack was a lovely surprise and it was much appreciated by all ,thank you for the high quality accommodation

Thank you for your feedback Terry. We are happy that you enjoyed Highview. Regarding the Heating and WiFi, you should have called or e-mailed, as both were easy to resolve. All radiators have thermostats so that each room can be individually adjusted. We do tend to leave the heating on the high side for the comfort and control of the guests. Property Owner

The beds were comfortable and all the bedding and towels very clean. The kitchen was well equipped with everything we needed to cook our New Year’s Day dinner. The views from the property over the north bay are spectacular, and Peasholme Park and central Scarborough are in easy walking distance. Whilst there we had a small maintenance problem which the owner John dealt with very quickly and efficiently, arriving only 15 minutes after being contacted. Our party of 11 all had a very enjoyable stay thank you John and Kim.

Thank You Chris for you feed back. You were a wonderful group. We are glad that despite the efforts of the National Grid, you still had a your New Years Day dinner. :-) Property Owner
