  • "From entering the gated community to opening the door of the lodge, every amenity & care had been catered, with a lovely unexpected welcome pack."

The lodge is located in an extremely peaceful position just minutes from the beach (keep in mind the steep road down) whilst a short walk takes you to breath taking views along the Cleveland Way. The Co-op is 5 minutes away by car in Staithes, whilst Asda & Sainsburys are 20 minutes away. A thoroughly enjoyable week & would highly recommend.

  • "We have stayed in the Ammonite Lodge previously, so are aware of the facilities provided."

The only area we felt could be improved was some of the lounge furniture. The sofa is no longer comfortable, perhaps due to age & constant use plus the footstool was unusable, with two legs broken upon our arrival.

It was beautifully appointed with excellent amenities, the best lodge we have holidayed in. The extra touches were so nice including the welcome pack from Yorkshire Coastal Cottages, which was fabulous. We had a wonderful week and would definitely use Yorkshire Coastal Cottages again. Thank you

Lodge was everything the advert described and more - by far the best equipped holiday rental I’ve ever stayed in! So comfortable and a real home away from home. Would definitely stay here again and use Yorkshire Coastal Cottages again!

  • "Fantastic location for this very well equipped, modern and comfortable lodge."

We made ourselves right at home and were grateful for the food cupboard essentials and the very Yorkshire welcome hamper! The sandy bay is only a 10 minute walk from the lodge, and Whitby a 20 min drive. The Pines itself is a well maintained and quiet resort, ideal for family getaways. Absolutely loved our stay and will be rebooking! Thanks Ammonite Lodge. X

  • "Amazing place!"

The lodge is amazingly well equipped luxury cabin, walking distance from Runswick Bay, local pubs and the Cleveland Way. One weekend has only scratched the surface of all there is to discover and explore in the surrounding area.... a ‘hidden gem’ for families and couples to get away from it all and relax... thank you will definitely be visiting again!

  • "Fabulous accommodation in a wonderful location."

The lodge is beautifully furnished and the kitchen is well equipped with everything you could possibly need, not that you need to cook as it is just a short walk to a friendly local pub that serves great food. Runswick Bay is stunning and although it was snowing we still spent an hour on the beach searching for fossils... and found some. We loved Ammonite Lodge.

  • "What a fabulous place to get away from it all!"

A lovely lodge on a quiet development, a short walk to the pub with a great menu and good beer. Ammonite Lodge is beautifully furnished, well appointed with very comfortable beds and good showers. We can't wait to go back!

A perfect birthday break! Thank you!

  • "Had a lovely, relaxing 4 nights here."

The Lodge has everything you need! Despite the poor weather, we got out and about. We loved Robin Hood's Bay and had nice coffee and cake at 'The Old Bakery'. Fantastic fish and chips at the Magpie Cafe in Whitby. Had a good pub meal at the Black Bull in Ugthorpe and the cafe in Runswick did lovely sandwiches. Sounds like all we did was eat! We'd definitely come back. Thank you.
