The property

Stable Cottage is a beautifully converted barn located at Boggle Hole, on a quaint, countryside complex at South House Farm, in Yorkshire.

With a fantastic location enjoying the North York Moors and walks from the door down to Robin Hood's Bay, choose this lovely getaway for your next family holiday.

It is also ideal for couples and friends looking to a escape daily routine and make the most of a countryside setting.

Feel welcomed into the bright and airy open-plan living area hosting a high apex ceiling and exposed timbers.

Warm and inviting, it incorporates a well-equipped kitchen, a family dining table and curved sofas.

Two sets of ladder stairs lead up to the double bedrooms, both with a mezzanine landing.

Outside, you have a large lawned garden and bike storage, as well a shared court within the grounds.

You are within easy reach of Robin Hood's Bay, Whitby and Scarborough.

Walkers are spoilt for choice, with the Cleveland Way cliff top trail on the doorstep, taking in the spectacular cliffs and coastline of this very special area.

The old railway line, known as the Cinder Track stretches for 23 miles and winds through the valley, offering scenic views for cyclists and horse riders as well as walkers.

A lovely property for a relaxing family holiday, being just five minutes walk down to the beach.

South House Farm holiday cottages takes pride in helping sustain the environment within the North Yorkshire Moors national park.

With support from our guests, we can help maintain South House Farm holiday cottages as a green tourism business. Our first step to looking towards a greener future was to update the domestic sewerage system to a biologically and environmentally efficient system some years ago.

Following this change we continued to incorporate the sustainability concept by installing a bio mass boiler.

This replaced the old system of individual oil fired boilers that had previously provided heat for the cottages and the farmhouse.

More recently, we reduced our carbon footprint further by installing solar panels, which now help provide us with low cost, low carbon electricity for our family and guests - we export any surplus to the National Grid.

Another project which has evolved over the last 20 years at South House Farm is the natural organic approach we have taken to the surrounding farmland, which over time has provided a habitat for a plethora of birds, small mammals, insects flora and fauna which can be enjoyed by all our visitors.

A more ambitious plan of ours for the future is to expand our facilities to encourage cyclists to visit and enjoy our beautiful county.

We hope that these small contributions within the business will help you appreciate your surroundings more and that you support our green ethos for South House Farm.

About the location

ROBIN HOOD’S BAY

Whitby 6 miles; Scarborough 17 miles.

Robin Hood's Bay, with its narrow cobbled streets and quaint cottages, is one of the most picturesque villages on the English coastline. Situated between Scarborough and Whitby, this charming old fishing village is to be found nestling at the edge of a wide sweeping bay backed by spectacular cliffs and dramatic moorland scenery, and was once home to author Leo Walmsley. All holidaymakers will love the beach and its cliff-top walks, whilst more serious walkers will enjoy the many long distance trails that pass through the Cleveland Way, the Lyke Wake Walk and the Coast to Coast walks which all take in Robin Hood’s Bay. The village amenities are superb, with charming alleyways to explore and plenty of places to rest, relax and take refreshment. A perfect base for enjoying the Yorkshire Coast.
