We couldn’t fault a thing. Even the abundant outside space was well laid out and well maintained - so unusual in holiday properties. This does however leave us further mistrusting Sykes’ quality assurance/tick ratings. Our first booking through Sykes was in Sept 21. Like No.11, that property was graded by Sykes as “4 tick”. The disparity between the two properties cannot be over-stated - in terms of appearance, presentation and quality - and Sykes’ grading of No.11 does it a severe injustice.

The property

A deceptively spacious detached bungalow situated in the picturesque village Of Beauly.

Number 11 provides all modern comforts and is the perfect base for families or friends to relax and enjoy the surrounding countryside in comfort and style, not forgetting your very own hot tub.

Double doors open from the front hall to the spacious airy sitting room with dual aspect windows, comfy seating and a wood burning stove to cosy up to.

The open plan dining area lies adjacent, the large table and comfy chairs make this the ideal place to gather round and plan those up and coming adventures.

Beyond this the modern kitchen is beautifully presented, home to all the necessary appliances and for coffee lovers the Nespresso Coffee machine will be a welcome sight.

An additional utility area houses washing machine, freezer and second fridge and leads you to the integral garage and a further door into the garden.

The garage houses table tennis for those with energy remaining after the pursuits of the day and would provide secure storage for bikes or any other equipment.

The 3 bedrooms are to the rear of the property and match that of hotel quality with pretty accessories and soothing colour scheme.

Enjoy the comfort of the natural hand made beds, and to provide great flexibility all which are zip link.

Two of the rooms offer ensuite facilities one with luxury shower and the other just as magnificent bath with shower over.

The separate shower room provides facility for third bedroom.

A second sitting room opening to the garden at rear of the house is the place to escape with your coffee and a good book.

Enjoy the private south facing garden where it will be sunny and bright all day long, weather permitting!

Door leads onto decked area, where you can gather round barbecue or take a glass of bubbly to the fabulous hot tub.

A sofa bed offers additional sleeping area if necessary.

The village of Beauly is situated at the very heart of the highlands.

A central location for touring in all directions and on the route of the now renowned North Coast 500.

Many amenities and sights are within easy reach such as Loch Ness, Glen Affric or the beaches in the Black Isle.

Pretty golf course in Aigas just 4 miles or another in Muir of Ord, along with the famous Distillery open to visitors all year round.

Today the village is famous for its craft based industries and offers an excellent selection of quality shops, pubs and restaurants.

Shinty matches are often held in the park, 3 mins walk from the door and for the entertainment of those special little people a play park sits right next to shinty pitch.

For summertime visitors pipe bands regularly play in the square.

With some of the best scenery the Highlands has to offer join us and escape into the wonderfulness of it all.

About the location

Inverness 12 miles.

Lying on the north bank of the River Beauly, just 12 miles west of Inverness, the village of Beauly is situated at the very heart of the Highlands. An excellent location for touring, the village is within easy reach of Loch Ness, the ancient Caledonian pine forests of Glen Affric and Strathfarrar and the coast (sandy beaches 8 miles). The name Beauly comes from the French “beau lieu” or “beautiful place” and the village prides itself on being both scenic and well-kept, having won both Scotland and Britain in Bloom titles. One of Beauly's highlights is the ruined 13th Century priory, around which the village was built. Today the village is famous for its craft-based industries and offers an excellent selection of shops, pubs and restaurants. With some of the best scenery the Highlands has to offer just on the doorstep, Beauly makes an excellent holiday base!
