  • "Great little house within walking distance of local places."

Easy 5 minute walk to Caledonian Canal with walks both east and west. Five minutes walk to the River and town. Aldi and Lidl both a few minutes walk. The house was very comfortable and well equipped. Parking outside house 6pm to 8am but twenty yards further down was unrestricted. We discovered the lounge furniture reclined after a couple if days too! Would definitely return.

  • "The property was fairly central in Inverness , about a mile walking distance from the centre."

Parking was not an issue as you can park in the road, just 20 m further down the road I stayed for four weeks and was most weekends away. It was therefore disappointing that there was no cleaning done during my stay. Furthermore, I was not supplied written second set of bedsheets, which would have been helpful to wash and change the sheets I used.

  • "Cottage was lovely."

Spotless and just as advertised. The only downside was the very late check-in of 4.30 and early check-out of 10.00. We have mentioned to Sykes before that 4.30 is really far too late to check in. We lose almost a day by hanging about till we get in and see what we need to shop for and an early start on day of leaving, especially by having to breakfast, strip beds and leave washing sorted into different coloured bags. What is the need for a 6.5 hour turnaround in the cottage? Entry by 2.30 at the latest and leaving by 11 should be plenty of time. These timings will be a consideration when making future bookings. Apart from this issue we really enjoyed or stay.

The house itself was very clean and had clear instructions on how to operate appliances. The downstairs toilet was an extra bonus and the garden is lovely. The shower is huge. There is a bit of road noise which wasn't a problem for us. The location is great. An easy walk from the bus and train station in the town centre and close to a choice of supermarkets.

  • "A lovely stay in a clean and comfortable cottage."

A great base to explore Loch Ness and the surrounding areas. The cottage is close to Inverness City Centre, a 10-15 min walk. Plenty of supermarkets within a 5 min walk. No problems parking on the road nearby. The only area for improvement would be to increase the amount of cutlery, crockery and glassware. Overall a very enjoyable stay. Would highly recommend.

Aldi and Lidl within walking distance to pick up groceries and a short walk into town. Easy access in and out of Inverness by car as the house just sits off one of the major trunk roads. A few more glasses and plates would have been helpful. A bigger couch in the living space would be a welcome addition. Overall the property has everything you require for a short break. We enjoyed our stay at this property with so much to see and do in the local area and beyond. A good location for exploring. We have booked via Sykes for many years now and have not yet been disappointed. The significant benefit of using Sykes is the site shows live availability of properties.

Not really an issue though just giving a bit of feedback. Oh and there was no masher so roast potatoes had to do!! But joking aside we had everything you could want in a self catering property. This was our second visit and we thought it would look a bit worn but was pleasantly surprised. The owners have taken great lengths to ensure everything is fresh looking. Hopefully we will return when these strange times are back to normal.

  • "This cottage was absolutely fabulous."

Everything as described and more. There is also a washer dryer which was not stated on the website so this was a bonus as I travelled very light with just a cabin bag. Extra items in the cupboards-some clothes washing liquid, washing up liquid, salt.oil-little extras that possibly others left behind. We did the same-it always help the next person staying. Towels and tea towels provided and also a hairdryer, iron and ironing board. hoover and mop etc too so no excuse not to clean up. The cooker took a bit of figuring out so we phoned the owner who is extremely helpful. I'm used to gas rather than electric so it took too much figuring out. Bottle of wine and some milk on our arrival along with a bunch of flowers. Tea and coffee had been left so we could have a much needed cuppa. Back garden very secluded and has washing line. Big pile of leaflets and maps in the lounge. We used Jacobite tours for Loch Ness and Happy Tours for a day to Glencoe There is a Wetherspoons in town and a few places with nightly music. I would definitely recommend this accomodation. It was a 15 minute walk into town for an average walker and 20 mins for me as I am a slow plodder. Lidl just up the road-5 mins walk-Aldi on the way to town-10 mins walk Property is easy to find on walking back from town-we walked everywhere. A bit noisy in the front bedroom on a Friday night but that is to be expected in the city. Nothing too bad. Do follow the River Ness on the side of the castle up to the "islands"-it is absolutely beautiful up there. (The sports centre and ice rink in same direction) Bus station in centre of town-costs £4.50 to get from airport to town. We booked a taxi for our return though-£25-just in case that helps anyone.

Our host left us a welcome bottle of wine and chocolate biscuits on arrival, plus fresh flowers in the hallway. The whole cottage was sparkling clean. Comfortable beds and a great location. We enjoyed the garden and all the cottage had to offer. It was only a 15 minute walk by the river Ness from the cottage to Inverness shops. Local shops, Aldi, Mr Chips and Waterside Pub all an easy couple of minutes walk from the cottage. A booklet of information regarding how to operate some of the appliances would have been helpful but not an absolute necessity. Would book this cottage again and again.

Downstairs not so good. There was a strange smell as soon as we entered the house. We got rid of it with scented candles. The sink was dirty with an old sponge lying in it.There was a loaf of mouldy bread in cupboard. The bar stools had been repaired with black tape, not a good look. One of the chairs had crumbs all over it.All fairly minor things which wouldn't prevent us staying here again. The good points outweighed the bad but there is room for improvement.

  • "Tolle, gut ausgestattete Wohnung, zentrumsnah!"

Great, well-equipped apartment, close to the city center! The apartment is bright, well equipped and contemporary and offers enough space for a family of four. In the immediate vicinity are various shops (Coop, Lidl, Aldi, B & M), the CIty Center can be reached on foot in just under 15 minutes. In the bedroom with the double bed but should be taken to ensure that only a large (in the UK typical) blanket is available - for Germans rather getting to used! Small drawback: the shower or the fitting of the shower squeaks very loud (it literally shouts), so that everyone in the house notices, if someone takes a shower - could possibly be fixed by the landlord! All in all, the apartment is highly recommended.

Great location for walking into the city centre and also close to the Caledonian Canal too. We had chosen this as we were participating in the Baxter’s Loch Ness Running Festival and it proved to a great one. We had a couple of friends staying for a few nights and we still had lots space. Close by we had an Aldi, Lidl and Co-op for any provisions needed with good parking - if required - at all three. Highly recommended if you a looking for a bolt hole in Inverness and wish to enjoy good Higland hospitality on your doorstep.

Excellent standard. The street was not "the best", but once in the 3 of us had a fab time and the location was fantastic, so close to Inverness town. Really loved the place and would recomend. Very good broadband, strangely no DVD or CD player with the TV / entertainment, which is unusual, but the solid wood cupboards and furnishings and the kitchin items were a brilliant standard. Unusual too to have a bottle of bubbles to welcome us in, much appreciated!

We enjoyed sitting in the garden during our week of great weather in May. Close to good pub , The Waterfront, good food, we booked for evening meal. Did several walks one to Merkinch nature reserve to sea lock of Caledonia canal at clachnaharry, and along canal to river, Ness islands to castle. Drive around loch Ness via general Wade rd great views. We really enjoyed our stay at cottage, would stay again. When 3 light bulbs blew owner sorted out very promptly. On arrival a welcome pack of milk, fresh flowers and bottle champagne was a delightful surprise.

About the location

North Kessock 5.9 miles; Dores 9.2 miles; Tomatin 15.5 miles.

The Capital of the Highlands, the city of Inverness, is the gateway to the countless delights of the Highlands of Scotland. Towering mountains, dark lochs, great forests and precipitous sea cliffs are all within easy reach. Of particular note is the legendary Loch Ness, which is surrounded by some truly breathtaking scenery, although most visitors are usually on the lookout for something a bit more mysterious! Just outside the city is the Culloden Battlefield at Culloden Moor (National Trust). The site of the last major battle fought on British soil, there is an award-winning display depicting the battle, whilst a walk on the field serves as a poignant reminder of the clansmen who lost their lives. Inverness itself has much to offer, museums, an art gallery, fine theatre and leisure facilities, not to mention shops, pubs and restaurants. The River Ness flows through the city and both the river and neighbouring Moray Firth are home to a diverse range of wildlife and marine life including red kites, along with dolphins, which can sometimes be seen from the shore, or on trips from the harbour.
