"This property is well-located in a peaceful part of Kingussie village."
It overlooks trees out the back and feels very secluded. The hosts were helpful and offered us maps for hiking in the area as well as being on hand if we needed anything. The facilities were adequate for a short stay and reflected the fair price. We found that the property was clean enough but could have used a deeper clean in parts. We slept well in a comfortable bed, but we did find the property was a bit chilly throughout our stay. The woodburner was a great addition to solve this and we appreciated the complimentary wood to start us off. Kitchen facilities were basic and fine for simple meals. The bathroom facilities did the job but the shower wasn't particularly powerful. Overall, the property is good value for money for a 'base' from which to explore the Cairngorms.

"A very lovely lodge not far from the village center."
We really enjoyed our stay. Parking available. We met the owners and the are a nice and caring company. Highly recommend.
-
"Fantastic little cottage."
Well equipped, clean and tidy, beautiful area to stay
-
"Very clean and comfortable cottage."
Owners very friendly and let us change hoilday dates. Situated away from the main road so very quiet, with a good place to park. Close to local shops and not too far from Aviemore and Newtownmore.

"We enjoyed our stay."
It is nice that the cottage is so close to Cairngorms National Park. We enjoyed hiking there. The cottage was a bit hard to find, but we eventually did. It is a bit small but enough for two persons. When we arrived there was no way to make coffee but this was corrected the next day. The hot water in the kitchen was troublesome. When you open the tab water comes out, but as soon as the water becomes hot it stops. We eventually boiled water to do the dishes.

"My stay was very comfortable in peaceful surroundings, enjoyed sitting outside at the back."
The bed was comfortable and facilities good. Good location for walking in the area. Would stay again.
-
"Comfortable cottage and well located with umpteen cycle and walking trails."
A good place to relax at the end of the day.
-
"Great cottage with all the amenities for a work-retreat."
Rafa and Allison couldn't have been more gracious hosts. Before arrival, I was concerned about heating during December. They were more than happy to share their firewood for the wood stove. I had to insist on compensating them for it, since it wasn't part of the complimentary basket they already provide. I had no issues keeping the cottage warm during some of the coldest days of the year. I highly recommend the cottage, location, and the hosts.

"Very peaceful little spot - the property was very comfortable and perfect for access to local walks and activities, with more adventurous pursuits available within a short drive."
-
"It was a lovely cottage in beautiful surroundings."
First time we had been but definitely not the last time. Very handy for shops and pub. Everything we wanted was there. Lovely watching the blue tits feeding their young in the box and the rabbits that came out on the lawn every evening. I give it a 4 for comfort as we found the mattress very soft and the sofa hard.

"Check in was really easy, hosts were friendly, towels provided, really great location, was a lovely stay"
-
"We could the property all we could hope for."
Lots of walking around the area. Birds to be seen all sorts including raptors. Plus morning of leaving a red squirrel
-
"Warm , clean, comfortable and well equipped."
The only negative the mattress was very soft for us . We enjoyed the stay and look forward to coming back soon.
-
"We were made very welcome by our hosts and found everything we needed in the cottage, which is cosy, comfortable and just the right size for a couple."
It is also very reasonably priced. The location is peaceful but only a short walk from the main street of Kingussie. We found the village an ideal base for our walking holiday.
-
"Great quiet location, ideal for our needs, were able to walk and cycle directly from cottage and very close to golf club."
The kitchen was well equipped and everything was very clean. The owners were very friendly and helpful without intruding.

"Small but big enough for two."
Well equipped and comfortable. Situated in a nice location and ideal as a base for walking or sightseeing by bus or car.

"A really lovely stay in a very lovely cottage."
We had everything we needed, it was very cosy and Alison and Rafa kept us very topped up with wood for the log burner. Fantastic comfy large bed, loads of storage if you need it, and a very well equipped kitchen. The place was very clean and pleasant when we arrived and communication from the owners was really great throughout. Location is ideal, very quiet but also not far at all from the centre of Kinguisse (for the fantastic fish and chip shop and bike shop) and just a 20 minutes drive from Aviemore and the Cairngorms. Highly recommend, thank you for having us.

"The property was lovely and felt quite spacious."
Lovely patio area with great views over the mountain. We had a visit from a robin every day. There were plenty of coat hangers (usually you only get half a dozen, if that) and plenty of storage. The area was lovely and quiet but within walking distance of the town centre. The couple who own the property were lovely and couldn't have been more helpful. I would definitely recommend this property.

"Lovely little place in Kingussie."
The owners where lovely and kept us stocked with a plentiful supply of wood. Easy to find and within walking distance of the village.
-
"We found the cottage easily following the directions on the welcome email."
On arrival the cottage was warm and cosy, the owners had kindly left the heating on for us. The cottage itself looks brand new, so clean and tidy, a credit to the owners. The beds were comfy, the lounge was lovely and lighting the fire only added to this. The log burner warmed the whole property, not that it needed it. The kitchen facilities are excellent with everything you need for a stay. The bathroom is also great with no issues found at all. The owners, Alison and Rafa, are lovely and very approachable. All in all a lovely place to stay to explore the Cairngorms. Kingussie is a lovely wee village with everything you need - chippy, Co-op and Cafes. We will be back as soon as we are able.

"We had a fantastic holiday in this wee annex."
The place was clean and tidy and had everything we needed. The wood burning stove created such a lovely atmosphere and we loved that we had a little kitchen so we could make our own meals while away. The area is full of beautiful walks and I'd be happy to recommend this place to anyone looking for a break away up North.

"First of all Alison and Rafa were very kind host."
They made sure that we are comfortable and gave the privacy. Rooms were clean and the bed was Cosy and comfortable. Had almost everything including vessels even though we dint use it. Woods were given for the fire and was a good experience. Place is nicely situated near shops and also near by walks are good. Don't have anything as a con, except that the cottage doesn't have a board to identify. So please call the host and get the land markings.

"This cottage was perfect."
Had all the needed facilities for a comfortable stay and was very clean and tidy. The hosts were both lovely and made sure we had everything we needed. The cottage was in a beautiful location. Kingussie itself is a large village with a few shops etc but lots of lovely walks too. It is very close to the rest of the Cairngorms, Aviemore, the Wildlife Park and many other areas. There is also a great main road that leads straight to Inverness. Would definitely stay here again.

"Will visit again."

"Everything was perfect, the cottage was very clean and he owner was very pleasant, we would love to return one day"
-
"Lovely comfortable cottage with private patio seating area."
Would recommend for a couple looking for nearby local shops, pubs and access to local walks .
-
"We’ve had a great week in the beautiful Kingussie."
The cottage is clean, and the bedroom is comfortable and cosy. The courtyard is now sunny and bright. Updating the shower would be desirable. But we loved it!
-
"In great location in Kingussie with onsite parking."
Hosts at hand and very helpful. Well equipped kitchen and we loved the wood burning stove. Comfy bed. Only downsides was the low water pressure in the shower and that the bedroom doesn't have its own heating. But to be fair we were never actually cold in the bedroom as there was a warm duvet. May be an issue in winter.

"A wonderful base for a weeks walking in the area."
The cottage was perfect, spotlessly clean and everything worked as expected. Alison and Rafa were on hand if required, but equally happy to leave me to myself which is a nice balance in my view. Highlights: VERY cosy bed, log burning stove was nice in cooler nights, good shower, Wi-fi was reliable (whilst not blisteringly fast, it was more than sufficient) plenty of cutlery/utensils etc for making meals, great location (5 min walk into Kingussie for shop/pubs etc. Areas for improvement: Nothing significant from my perspective, I was more than happy with everything, if I had one minor comment, the sofa wasn’t overly comfortable, but it is in reality a futon to give some extra sleeping space rather than a sofa and it wasn’t that bad to be fair. Happily return again and recommend it to my friends.

"We had a lovely time in the cottage!"
Cottage was clean on arrival and in good condition. Alison and Rafa were very helpful and quick to respond to any questions/requests. Good walks from the cottage.
-
"Very pleased to have found this cottage after another had suddenly decided to cancel the booking a few weeks before departure - even though it had been booked and paid for last December."
Sadly Sykes not that helpful and left it to myself to find another cottage and the pittance of just over £30.00 compensation was a laugh that only really covered their booking fee. Poor customer service all round. Anyway the cottage was very clean, tidy and held everything I need. The owners who live in the attached house were extremely friendly and helpful. Great place for exploring the mountains. Very comfortable.

"We were asked to arrive 2hrs later than printed time because of Covid but on arrival nobody there to meet us when we phoned to ask about this the lady whose number it was said her daughter would be back soon so we were left to sort ourselves out."
When checking the facilities we found a up and over kitchen cupboard with broken catches so did not use this, when telling the owner he said he knew about it but it was not fixed all week and the bathroom door was sticking and very hard to open and close. On reading the instructions in the annex it also said it required us to vacate an hour earlier than normal for deep cleaning even though we had been asked to arrive 2hrs later I felt that the customer was not put first.
-
"The seating area in this property was extremely uncomfortable, the so called sofa gave us severe backache."
The TV worked but kept on switching itself over, and was so small you was sat looking downwards with a bent neck which also contributed to the backache. We were asked to arrive two hours later than the original time stated and asked to leave an hour earlier than stated, this was supposed to be to provide a deep clean. I myself am a private cleaner and the size of this property did not warrant an extra 3 hours for a deep clean on top of the usual four to five hours they have, which is usually between 10am and 3pm, by anyone.

"Had a fantastic holiday."
The cottage was really clean with everything we needed. The location was perfect for us. Nice and quiet location with a few places to eat and drink within a 5 minute walk. Aviemore was only a 10 minute drive or 15 minutes on the train. Highly recommended.

"We had a lovely stay here and our first time booking a Sykes Cottage."
There was everything that we needed including ample crockery and utensils etc (but we didn't cook really!). The place is a little bit small for a family of four if you intend to spend a lot of time inside the home, but we knew it was sufficient to our needs as a base for our holiday whilst visiting family. We enjoyed watching the squirrels in the little garden too! Thank you.
-
"Rafael and Alison, as well as their two sons, are friendly and helpful hosts."
The apartment was quiet and secluded, immaculately cleaned and otherwise prepared for us, surrounded by beautiful greenery, and close to many beautiful walks and climbs in the area. We would certainly consider staying there again.

"Great central base for touring and travelling"

"Great cottage."
in a lovely area. Welcoming helpful owners. clean and had pretty much all you could want. close to lots of things to do. thank you very much.
-
"Basic cottage not at all light as described in your Ad with very poor sitting out area and dark with trees blocking light into the sitting area."
-
"Lovely cottage and lovely people in a lovely location!"
Thanks for the sledge!
-
"Lovely little cottage, a great place to spend our Christmas."
Slightly bigger than expected from the photos. Bed really comfy. Warm and cosy venue. The owner was lovely and lent some books to us.
-
"We spent one week at the Brucanich Cottage and we really enjoyed it."
The house was very clean and equipped with everything we needed. They also provided us with a cot for the little one. The location is also very good, at 10 minutes walking from the centre of Kingussie, where you can find a coop, different restaurants and a couple of take away places, which are ideal at evenings if you don't want to travel far just to have dinner. We reserved everything through the website only 3 days before going on holiday, and everything worked perfectly. Very pleased!
