"There was loud machinery outside property at 7."
30am and we always sleep with window open. Parking was a concern on the tight corner with van's and trailers passing our car. Could hear noise in loft area most mornings about 1am, sounds like vermin in loft so reccomend you have it checked as it might be squirrels. Inner door not locking my partner didnt like as she is security conscious.
We are sorry that your experience has been so negative and saddened that you did not address the issues with us directly as we would then have been able to give you an explanation as well as to apologise in person. Your comments came as a harsh contrast to the words put in our visitors book and with the interaction we had with your partner on our doorstep. In order to defend our excellent reputation we feel it necessary to address each of the issues you raise: Unfortunately, due to circumstances beyond our control, there was occasional loud machinery due to Sawmill and Forestry workers having to deal with the aftermath of storm damage. The stock fence in the field was also being replaced that week and the extra traffic was to a house in the process of being renovated. The excess noise was not the norm and we are sorry that it coincided with your stay. On your arrival you were advised the best place to park your vehicle. We were pleased to note that you followed this advice, thank you. To park in the marked area leaves ample space for other residents, deliveries and in this case the contractors working on the renovation. The cottages were built in 1914 and to have mice in the loft of a country house is often the case. Dont expect there are any squirrels but there could be bats. In the twenty years we have been here there has never been a mouse or anything else coming from the loft to the inside the property. There was more possibility of something to come in through your open window than from the loft. As for the security aspect of the inner door, the lock was removed years ago after someone was trapped in the porch without a key for either door. Recently, due to health and safety regulations and advice from the Fire Officer both the front and back doors were replaced with keyless exit locks. To replace the inner door lock would not add to the security of the property and would go against both the fire officers instructions and our licence requirements for safe and easy exit in emergency. "Lovely quiet cottage in a beautiful location ."
Very clean and has well equipped kitchen. Excellent communication from the owners who live next door but do not intrude. Will definitely use again
Thank you - your satisfaction is our reward Property Owner
"The cottage was comfortable and clean, the bonus for us was to be able to sit outside just from the kitchen and take in the beautiful scenery."
The only issue we found was the mattress in main bedroom allowed the central bed frame to be felt. The single beds were comfortable. The owners were very welcoming on arrival.
We are very sorry that the comfort of your stay was compromised by the feel of the mattress. Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We will remedy the situation when we do the next changeover on Friday. Property Owner

"Tiore was very comfortable and spotlessly clean."
The cottage was very well equipped. It was very peaceful and quiet. Bowmont Forest right outside the doorway was very beautiful with only the sounds of the birds. The owners live next door and there if we needed anything but were not intrusive. There are lots of good walking routes within a short distance. The towns of Kelso and Jedburgh close by are well worth a visit. We will be back.

"This was our second visit to Tiore and, although the weather wasn't brilliant, we enjoyed the opportunity to relax in a beautiful, well-equipped cottage with very friendly and helpful hosts."
We are very fond of the Scottish Borders and although this cottage is a little way outside Kelso, it is ideally situated to explore the region.
"We thoroughly enjoyed our week at Tiore."
The cottage was comfortable and felt welcoming, and it is clearly being lovingly maintained both inside and out. The views across open country from the front windows are beautiful, especially in the fine, warm weather we had for our stay.

"Lovely cottage in very quiet location."
Great for long walks. The fresh eggs supplied by the hens next door were excellent. The owners, Peter and Christine are very friendly and approachable should you wish any help. Peters’ woodwork is excellent and anyone visiting should look at his amazing creations. Easy access to local attractions by car.
"A delightfully rural and tranquil setting with immediate access for walks with great views."
The accommodation was a warm, spacious and modernised 2-bedroomed cottage that suited our short break needs, at a very reasonable rate and the owners were handily available if required.
"The cottage was recommended to us by friends who had stayed there and it lived up to their very positive comments."
"We had the most wonderful week at Tiore - the cottage is spacious, clean, well equipped and in the most beautiful setting."
We had breakfast and dinner on the decking and we loved watched the swallows darting about. If you’re after peace and quiet then Tiore is the place to be. Christine and Peter are perfect hosts. Home made coffee cake was waiting for us and Christine made gluten free biscuits especially for me. They let us collect the chickens eggs and Peter showed us his wood working studio. We would definitely return! 5*
"A beautiful cottage in a stunning location."
The owners have provided everything to make for a truly comfortable and enjoyable relaxing holiday. They were most helpful though not intrusive. We would highly recommend this accommodation.
"Very good cottage in excellent and quiet location."
"The peacefulness the cleanliness and the friendliness of the owners."
Such great views. Very well equipped accomodation
"Our hosts Peter & Christine were very accommodating Kelso was only 4 miles away parking was easy and restaurants very nice a really relaxing and enjoyable holiday."
"The most well thought out and considerate accommodation!"
I was totally blown away by the property having everything we needed any more; from condiments in the cupboard, spare baby shampoo and bubble bath in the bathroom to nightlights across the house. Plus the brownie cake left for us on arrival was amazing and a lovely surprise! We felt totally at home and so so comfortable. The house is wonderful and everything we needed for our week away with our toddler. The garden and space around the house is fantastic! The only thing we can suggest, and this is really a small thing and doesn’t take away from our stay- the knives were rather blunt so we struggled to cut meat and veg. So in love with our stay and absolutely would book again in a heartbeat
