  • "We had a great stay at the cottage and made the most out of the facilities."

The tennis court and games room are fantastic and were well appreciated after long walks in the local area. Jane is a great host who makes you feel welcome and ensures everything is to your liking. The cottage was immaculately clean and is equipped with everything you need. This is a great base for the Scottish borders; as well as lots of local walks, we had trips to the Berwickshire coast and it was less than an hour's drive to Edinburgh. Great location and we look forward to a future stay!

the games room was a hit with my grandson. The well kept field was a bonus for walking the dog. The owners were on hand to welcome us on arrival and also to say farewell on our departure, which we felt was a nice touch. We would hope to return again.

  • "The cottage is well thought-out, so easy to move into and well equipped."

Unfortunately i found the shared drying facilities intrusive. Whilst the owner wax helpful i didn't expect to see her every day. I have rented holiday homes before where the owners live nearby but have been afforded more privacy. Can't recommend if you like your own space.

I cannot fault this place. The Andrews family are so welcoming helpful, and friendly. The place is spotless and attended by the owner Jane herself. I would recommend the holiday cottage to anyone wanting a quiet home from home, and the games room is a fab bonus. Hope to be back for a third visit. XX

  • "We had a lovely stay in Courtyard Cottage, even though we sadly had to cut our holiday short due to personal circumstances."

The cottage and both very clean and well equipped. In a beautiful area and the views out of the back windows are lovely. The paddock and surrounding fields are brilliant for dogs, dogs aren't allowed on furniture or in the bedrooms so if your dog is use to a high level of home comforts or being with you at all times it might not be the most suitable. My only suggestion would be that a curtain could be added to be used over the front door to add privacy when staying. Many thanks for a lovely short stay.

There is easy access to local facilities (try the Allanton Inn for a splendid dinner) and the coast is less then 30 minutes away. The cottage is very well equipped and there is access to a family games room (snooker & table tennis). A lot of care and consideration has been made to ensure that guests have an enjoyable stay.

Owners were helpful and available. Facilities and home were spotless. Our wee Westie loved the the use of the paddock. Weather is weather and there certainly was plenty the week of our stay. Duns the nearest village is just a short drive for any requirement. Lockdown was just being lifted and unfortunately we / I couldn't get to the Jim Clarke museum. Plenty of good walking ,mangaged to get onto the Cheviots during a lull in the storms. No criticism at all. Thank you Jane , all the best.

  • "An amazing relaxing holiday, cottage lovely cosy & clean."

Was great to have the games room went down well with my twin boys. Lexi the yorkie loved her walks around the massive field she didn't take too well to the owners lovely labs tho.... Just a grumpy female! Weather was fantastic so got in a few games of tennis, the court was another added bonus. Would recommend using or having a Sat Nav for all the back country roads as not very well signed post and ended up in many different places. Felt totally chilled after a week, lazy days, and long lies....beds were extra comfy. Excellent owners there if we needed them and were very good in walking their dogs at different times to avoid our grumpy, yappy Yorkie. Overall a great place to stay lots of places within easy reach to visit, and the cottage had everything we needed. Certainly will return in the near future.
