"We have stayed in holiday cottages for over 40 years and this is one of the best we have stayed in, in terms of accommodation and location."
The photographs, descriptions and reviews were an accurate representation of the Wynd. Our mixed generation party thoroughly enjoyed the holiday. The above 4 lines are the review which I would be happy to be published. In terms of helpful comments for the owner I would say that the shower in the upstairs en suite did not work from day one. Once notified this was quickly dealt with but why was this not noticed before our holiday began? The top mattress of the bunk beds needed to be flipped over as a protruding spring made it uncomfortable to lie on .Again this was a minor inconvenience but could have been spotted earlier. Based on experience, if one of the double bedrooms was a twin room or had a zipped double mattress it would provide more flexible sleeping arrangements where parties include teenagers or young adults as the bunk beds cater better for younger children. I hope that these comments are useful. Thank you David.
"Lovely place to stay, comfortable, clean and with beautiful surroundings."
However provision of basic items was very disappointing. The kitchen was the only room with hand soap dispenser - there was no hand soap in any of the bathrooms. Also no spare toilet rolls were provided. With the number of people staying for a whole week, it was inevitable that they would run out. Likewise dishwasher tablets - 7 were provided, but with 9 or 10 people staying it's inevitable that the machine goes on more than once on some days. Neither of the items were available in the village stores, so this necessitated an extra trip to a nearby town. Given the cost of renting the property and that there was no warning that we needed to bring any of these items, we felt sufficient supplies should have been included.
"Amazing property, beautiful location, we all loved it!"
Very clean, the house has everything you need and more. Thank you so much for the welcome pack, it was a lovely touch. We will 100% be going back for longer next time! Ps, please let me know if you ever wish to sell the property :) Thank you so much for letting families share this beautiful place.

"Absolutely fantastic house and location, loved our stay."
Loads of space for children to play and upstairs lounge great games room. Only issue was could have done with additional large pans to cook, as we made a Xmas dinner. Excellent utility room and entrance porch for boots and shoes. Thank you
"The Wynd is an outstanding property, decorated to a high standard, very clean and welcoming as soon as you opened the door."
Beds and bedding extremely comfortable and house warm throughout with plenty of hot water. Kitchen well stocked with utensils etc and the welcome hamper was a particularly nice touch location couldn’t have been better, having the castle as your main view was amazing. Plenty of space to fit all our group to spend time together and the upstairs sitting room was an excellent room to have some quiet time. Thoroughly recommend the property, we booked another trip even before we left

About the location
Seahouses 3.5 miles; Beadnell 5.1 miles; Alnwick 16.9 miles.
The village’s sweeping sandy beaches and dramatic fortress - Bamburgh Castle - make Bamburgh one of Northumberland’s major visitor attractions. The castle can be seen for miles and dominates this part of the county’s coastline. Today it remains home to the family of the great Victorian industrialist Lord Armstrong, and is open to the public on a daily basis. Although overshadowed by the great castle, Bamburgh village is picturesque with neat grey stone cottages facing a manicured village green. There are excellent pubs, hotels with restaurants and a small selection of village shops. There are golf courses in Bamburgh and nearby Seahouses, and within easy reach are more wide sandy beaches, lovely fishing villages, stunning castles and coastal islands to explore along the dramatic Heritage Coast. There are numerous other attractions also a short drive away, including the famous Alnwick Castle and Gardens and the historic walled border town, Berwick-upon-Tweed. A superb base for exploring Northumberland.
