  • "Fantastic..!"

! Possibly the best property I've stayed in and I've been around. Did exactly what it said on the tin. Comfortable, contemporary, bright and clean. The owner was friendly and informative. Enclosed garden was great for the dogs. The village of high hauxley is very nice and only a short walk to the beach. Thank you John what a gem of a place.

Thanks Nick! So pleased that you enjoyed No.4. Hope to see you again next year. Property Owner

  • "The house is very comfortable and well situated."

We would be happy to return. The only reason for 4 rather than 5 stars is the maintenance issues we experienced during our stay. The owners were very responsive & apologetic, so it may be that they were not aware of the issues we reported. However, there was a notice in the downstairs cloakroom from housekeeping saying that one of the two issues in there had been reported, but nothing to indicate when it might be resolved. The owners employed someone to resolve this after we contacted them directly, together with other more minor issues and we would like to thank them for their quick response, despite being on holiday themselves.

Thank you for the feedback Maureen and apologies for the issues you encountered with the downstairs cloakroom. Looking forward to seeing you again next year. John and Debra. Property Owner

  • "Place was ok, just a few issue's WI- FI almost non existent telly in kitchen diner unable to use, needed an internet connection ?"

. A welcome pack would be useful for local area, and only 2 plastic bags for sheets and towels, had to hunt for those. ,

Hi Clive, Thanks for the feedback. It would have been useful to know about the internet issues when you were staying. The next guests reported the issue and our local internet company came and fixed the issue with the fibre connection to the house. I hope that you enjoyed Northumberland and will come back to the area again. Thanks John Property Owner

  • "From the moment we pulled up to the property we were impressed."

Beautiful building and gardens! We were a family of mixed ages including a toddler and everyone was extremely well catered for, the facilities were lovely. The kitchen/diner in particular looking out onto the gorgeous back gardens was the space we spent most of our time in. We had a couple of beautiful sunsets too! Only small issue we had was the Wi-Fi kept dropping out so some Wi-Fi extenders are definitely needed in the property but this didn’t affect our stay. We would highly recommend this house and owners to anyone. They provided everything we could need, a beautiful welcome hamper was much appreciated too and they immediately responded if we had a question etc. They clearly care about giving a great experience. The house is very close to nearby pub/supermarket and Amble harbour so very handy for everything. You won’t regret staying here

Thank you for the fantastic feedback Rachel and really pleased you enjoyed our house and the area. You’ll please to know we have new fibre to home internet installed along with a great new wi-fi system so internet access is no longer an issue. Hope to see you back next in 2024 Best wishes John Property Owner

About the location

AMBLE

Warkworth 1 mile; Alnmouth 4 miles.

The bustling little seaport of Amble is situated at the mouth of the River Coquet and is an ideal place for exploring Northumberland. Historically a centre for boatbuilding, Amble offers a marina, a harbour, sandy beaches and coastal walks to the bird sanctuary at Hauxley and country park at Druridge Bay. Large fishing boats moor along the harbour wall and land a variety of fish, prawns, crabs and lobsters. There is a fish centre on the side of the harbour that is now primarily a shell fish hatchery to re-stock levels of lobster and other shell fish, this sells local fish and is open to the public. A mile south of Amble is Coquet Island, an RSPB reserve with a large population of terns, puffins and eider ducks and boat trips around the island can be arranged. The pretty coastal villages of Alnmouth and Craster and numerous superb beaches are only a short drive away, whilst picturesque Warkworth with its castle, charming Alnwick with its castle and award-winning gardens, and the National Trust’s Wallington Hall and Cragside are all within easy reach.
