The property

A beautiful, stone-built cottage, surrounded by the countryside lands of Northumberland, Dereside is a wonderful abode to base an escape for a family or group of friends.

This semi-detached cottage boasts contemporary style and a desirable location from which to explore this scenic area of the North East of England.

Once an important resting spot in Roman times for people travelling from York to Scotland, the village of West Woodburn now stands to offer its visitors a wonderful selection of amenities including a Post Office, pub and local store, offering all you could need for a self-catered stay, with walks along the River Rede making a wonderful way to while away the hours with a picnic.

Venture into the nearby Kielder Forest for an outdoor experience like no other, with miles of forest trails, the largest expanse of dark night sky perfect for star gazing and a plethora of nature waiting to discovered, there's so much natural wonder waiting to be discovered here.

The lovely village of West Woodburn lies amidst the deep Rede Valley and was once an important resting point in Roman times for travellers on route to Scotland from York. The village hosts a welcoming pub and a Post Office selling basic supplies, whilst visitors can also explore the remains of one of the outpost forts of Hadrian's Wall that passes nearby. The historic village Otterburn, with its world-famous Woollen Mill and Shop is just a short drive away and is popular with walkers and cyclists alike, whilst the nearby, beautiful Kielder Forest affords fantastic fishing, boating, horse riding and nature watching opportunities.
