We loved it so much and felt at home here we've rebooked for Dec. Can thoroughly recommend. Maureen.

The welcome pack for us & our dog was a lovely touch. I think it is worth mentioning that when you open a door the immediate outside area is not dog secure. Our dog is not a wanderer so we were quite happy & the garden area is fenced securely.

Hi Tanzie We are delighted that you enjoyed your stay in the Byre also it's great to know you were happy with the garden area that is fenced off for your dog, we felt it was great if you were having a BBQ or a drink in the evening sitting outside that your our four legged guest could be close by but safe. It is very well designed and has all the home comforts you need. It also is very quiet. We had daily visits from 4 lambs we had to close the patio doors as the swallows were nearly in.We also had a fox and also a young deer. So plenty wild life. We visited all local places Jedburgh was very busy and lots to do.So the byre is best place to stay if you want quiet holiday but every thing on your doorstep Thanks for a great stay. .

Hi Thomas It's great that you enjoyed your stay in the Byre.... and the wild life that comes with it! Our lambs are way too nosy and love to see what's going on - on the other side of the fence :) We had for a while a Deer that liked to look through the French doors at the guests she was so laid back and everyone loved her. The swallows on the other hand are so busy and forget that the inside the Byre is off limits...So yes we love the peace and quietness of the Byre to.. but also love that its so busy with wild life. We're glad you enjoyed your stay to. Take Care Jim & Sharon Property Owner

The place was well equipped, clean and there was a great welcome hamper. The only drawback was that although the wet room was adapted for a disabled person there were no grab rails and no stool to sit on when showering. As a result, my 94 year old father was unable to shower during his stay. I think this could be easily remedied and would make the place much more disabled friendly.

  • "Our holiday at the Old Byre in Jedburgh was superb."

I have given the highest ratings on all questions asked, not because it's easy & quick but because this is how much we enjoyed our time in the Old Byre. My wife, myself and our 20 month daughter had a ball. We were looking forward to it when we saw the photos. And this is what made us know we had booked the right place when we arrived - what you see on the photos is EXACTLY what you get on arrival. Many other places could learn from this fact. We were made to feel welcome from the get go - cheeky we arrival present on the table. On that - the hostess/manager couple are superb. Nothing is a hassle - even stupid requests from years truly on how to operate the wood burning stove (which is a beast in the very best sense of the word). Kirsty and Sandy just added to our enjoyment at the Byre all the more. I'm from the Borders (Peebles) so know the area well. Or so I thought. If you are into cycling there are simply magic wee routes around here - two of Simon Warren's top 100 cycling climbs of Scotland are just a few K's from your door, 1km in the case of one of them. I could go on - Jed has so much history dripping from it, all easily accessible even with a toddler in tow. Plenty of other lovely wee towns close by too for days out. Quick wee mention for the B6357 too. Petrol-heads or cyclists - do yourselves a favour - if you've not driven it or peddled it do it, it rocks almost as much as the Old Byre does. We will return to The Old Byre and cannae wait.
