Belford Cottages

Belford 1.2 miles. Middleton Cottages are located mid way between the historic towns of Berwick upon Tweed and Alnwick, 1 mile north from the historic Coaching village of Belford. These two mid-terrace cottages are located at the northern tip of the Northumberland Coastal Route and the historic route of St Cuthberts Way Both have been lovingly and tastefully renovated to present an outstanding level of self catering holiday accommodation with the added facility of an adjoining door to the neighbouring cottage to offer extended families, couples, walkers and cyclists an excellent base from which to explore the Northumberland Heritage Coast, The Cheviots and the Scottish Borders. With the absence of light pollution on a clear night the star gazing is absolutely amazing. Bruno’s Bothy and Keithy’s Cottage offer first-class accommodation with breathtaking views of the Northumberland coastline combining modern convenience with original character features. Both offer fully-equipped kitchens, Smart TV and WiFi for all your holiday requirements and comfortable sitting rooms with either a warming open fire or woodburning stove, perfect for cosy evenings in. Outside has a pet-friendly, enclosed garden. The pretty village of Belford is within easy reach with a good range of amenities including child and dog friendly pubs, restaurants and a selection of shops for all your essentials, plus there is a 9-hole golf course. The Heritage Coast offers plenty of places to enjoy the stunning coastal scenery, with castles and golden beaches. A visit to Bamburgh is a must with its dramatic castle overlooking the village, or take a trip across to the ancient Lindesfarne Priory on Holy Island. For wildlife lovers hop on board a boat from Seahouses and take a trip across to the Farne Islands to visit the seal colony and bird sanctuary. Alternatively pull on your walking boots and explore the Cheviot Hills or travel a little further to the Scottish Borders. Two excellently-located properties for exploring the wonderful countryside and coastline of Northumbria.

The kitchen is well-equipped with a range cooker so that you can prepare delicious meals which can be enjoyed around the dining table together.

The sitting/dining room is beautifully furnished and has character beams, as well as a large stone built hearth housing a woodburning stove.

Upstairs has vaulted ceilings and exposed beams and there are two luxurious bedrooms, the master fitted with a king-size bed and a spacious bathroom complete with a freestanding roll top bath, a separate walk-in shower and WC.

The opportunity to visit the bird sanctuary or seal colony on the famous Farne Islands with boat trips running daily from nearby Seahouses, is not to be missed.
