"Excellent property in a superb location to enjoy Shropshire, Cheshire & North East Wales."
Accommodation was exactly as described with excellent facilities, especially for larger families or groups. Easy check-in & check-out and the team at Whixall Marina were readily on hand to deal with any issues. Highly recommended, hope to return again in the future.
"The house was exactly as advertised only better."
It was extremely clean and tidy. Really quiet and relaxing. The garden was ideal for a quick wonder in any weather. The biscuits were a welcome gift. We felt very looked after but not intruded upon.
"Excellent house decorated to a very high standard, very well equipped, only drawback was the beds were very hard."
plus could have benefitted from a non slip bath mat in the jack and Jill bathroom.
"The facilities and garden were excellent."
We had a dog and 2 toddlers and there was plenty of space. The garden was large and secure with a fence around. The 4 bedrooms with ensuite were lovely, although the bed mattresses were a little firm. There were additional things for the dog like mats and bowls which we had brought with us because we didn't know they were available. The kitchen was well equipped. The house is in a nice area and we enjoyed a day trip down the canals from the marina. We found the food shops in Ellesmere better than Whitchurch which seemed to be largely closed on a Saturday apart from the Supermarkets. There is plenty to do close by and Hawkstone Park is worth a visit and Hoo zoo. . .
"The property itself was excellent, the best we have experienced and the setting lovely, though the hyper-sensitive may find the usual odours that are to be expected when among farms a little intrusive, especially after rain."
We found the owners extremely helpful coming promptly on the weekend to deal with plumbing problems. Definitely recommended
"Beautifully appointed house in a peaceful setting, ideal for exploring local walks."
"This is a very well appointed property in a relatively quiet location."
It is close to Whixall Marina which has a nice cafe and there are pleasant walks along the canal. It is furnished to a high standard with ample crockery and utensils. We booked for 6, but in the end only 4 of us could make it so there was plenty of room for us.
"One of the nicest decorated, fitted and furnished holiday rentals we’ve ever stayed in."
The house layout worked perfectly for our party of 3 couples and an infant (especially the duel bathroom door and built in stair gates). There was plenty of parking, amazing views and space to enjoy. Would definitely stay here again or, on the basis that they will be as nicely done, one of the two smaller properties next door.
"We stayed at this wonderful modern house during the February half term break, (3 adults 2 children and a dog) the house itself is immaculate, we have stayed in many rentals and this was by far the best equipped with everything u could need, we had a lovely home made cake on arrival which was a lovely touch."
There are 2 lounge areas, WiFi, 2 smart TVs, Bluetooth speakers, games (the kids loved this) The outdoor area is huge and if you have a dog the area is enclosed. You are a short drive to many different attractions, Overall I would highly recommend this house, you won’t be disappointed. It caters for all needs and I look forward to going back in the summer months.
"Forrester House is a lovely property and has been renovated to a high standard."
We booked for the weekend and had a great time celebrating two family birthdays. The heating is effective but we did find that it was either very warm or not hot enough. some instructions on how to set the thermostat or the radiators would be helpful. To improve the experience, much better towels would be of benefit. The property details say that bedding and towels are supplied - but in reality you get a hand towel and one a bit smaller each - you really need a bigger towel (like a bath sheet). smaller issue is that the tea towels are poor quality and be great if there was an apron. It's obviously a new renovation and will require some tweaking - it;s not cheap to hire and the interior design is spectacular - for the towels and some instructions for the heating and it'd be just about perfect.
"A beautiful house with all the things you want in the kitchen, bath/shower rooms etc."
Very comfortable, light and spacious, lovely décor, comfy beds, a modern and thoughtful renovation. Plenty of parking, quiet, close to walks and nature with a lot of conservation going on. Nice to get in at the start of a property's life as a holiday retreat, good luck with it, it's an excellent place to stay!
"A gorgeous house, refurbished to a very high standard."
Kitchen very well equipped and all rooms very comfortable, Only minor suggestion would be a pint of milk in the fridge on arrival would be most appreciated and some larger bath towels. Nice places to visit nearby - including lovely brunch at the Marina!
"Seven of us stayed at Forrester House for 3 nights over the new year period."
The house was perfect for what we needed and is very well furnished & well equipped. We had a lovely stay and would definitely recommend to others. We would suggest updating the listing to make people aware there is an iron under the stairs and also that the house benefits from a nespresso machine - we would have bought our own pods if we would knew as we ran out quite quick.
"Forrester House is very well appointed and truly luxurious."
Someone has taken a lot of time to really make the house comfortable. We stayed over Christmas and couldn't fault anything. Having two separate rooms for sitting and relaxing is a great benefit.
"A fantastic stay, the house was just perfect and all furnishings were brand new."
The house was warm and comfortable and the ensuite bathrooms provided privacy, the welcome gift was a wonderful surprise. We also appreciated the quiet location of the house but with plenty of nearby place to visit including Ellesmere. A couple of small suggestions; the showers would benefit from a place to put your toiletries and the the garden would be improved by securing the fencing at the rear as we had a dog. Overall we happy a really lovely stay ... Thank You.
