The only slight negative being the access lane to the cottage was very poor.

We are glad you enjoyed your stay at the Cow shed even though there was exceptional heavy rain fall during your stay which resulted in the river overflowing onto the access lane ( very rare occurence ). Access can be gained through the adjoining farm in these situations. Property Owner

Although we anticipated the great views and relaxation, we were pleasantly surprised at the gorgeous location. We arrived quite late at night. However, our hosts were available to guide us to the cottage. Although, I must say the directions provided were quite good. The cottage was very clean, modern and really nicely furnished. Even though we visited during winter, the cottage was kept warm for us throughout our stay. The bed was nice and comfortable and we had all the amenities we needed. The views from the hot tub are superb and the lighting was great for a romantic dip in the hot tub. We felt so relaxed whilst looking out at the splendid views. Our hosts were very attentive and provided fresh milk, eggs, tea bags etc. They also provided festive sweets and two small bottles of Prosecco (although we do not drink alcohol) which was a very nice touch. We would highly recommend this lovely retreat to all.

The views are stunning and it is quiet very comfortable. Well located about 20 min walk into Youlgrave with pubs and shops. My only slight feedback is it would have been helpful for us to be given the alternative route in to overcome the pot holes with rain but as soon as we asked the owner was incredibly helpful. Definitely 5/5 property.

It is an extremely cute and cosy cottage, a perfect getaway for a couple! The cottage is extremely clean and we had fresh milk, eggs, tea bags, coffee, sachets of sugar, biscuits and even two small bottles of Prosecco all ready and waiting for us which was a very nice added touch. And the hot tub was amazing! It is in a very remote location, so you really can get away from troubles while you’re here. Bakewell is a 15 minute drive away so you are still local to shops etc. I definitely will be booking again and would highly recommend!

Quiet, but central for some good walking/cycling. Lovely good quality bedding and towels, books to borrow if you just want to kick back and relax in the summer house, maps to borrow if you haven’t got your own. We cooked on BBQ as weather great, but used the easy to use induction hob to cook the free range eggs In the welcome basket. The Hot tub a real bonus for those walkers legs, the view over the dales was obscured slightly by the hot tub lid, but still a real treat! The pubs in Youlgreave stop serving food at 8pm, remember to book in advance to eat. Thanks Tony and Belinda we loved the Cow Shed, it’s beautifully done, we had a lovely time and will return!

Just need to get correct pans for hob. We only had on pan to cook breakfast and was promised to get another. Couldn’t use the dryer to dry towels as there were others left in all weekend so had to use wet towels al the time. Other than that it was a lovely place.

Thank you so much for your feedback, we are glad you enjoyed your stay. I am sorry one of the pans got mixed up and wasn't suitable for use on an induction hob, I am glad we got this replaced straight away for you. Before booking the cow shed we read about it and it said the hot tub tub was secluded it wasn't we were over looked by the people staying in the cow barn by the camp site at the side of us by the owners conservatory at the other side only 30 feet away from us they had no blinds up large pile of stone and rubble was our view while sat in the hot tub and it never got cleans in till we was moving out was there for a week never been in a bed as uncomfortable it was sent even a good double bed not a table to eat meals of inside so uncomfortable eating of our kneesover all won't be going back paid a lot of money for a holiday we didn t enjoy

Thank you for your comments, we are sorry your stay did not meet your expectations. We have looked in to this and feel the website is accurate, we advise the property is semi-detached and next to the owners property. The reason our hot tub is not secluded is because we would like our guests to enjoy the beautiful country side views. Our Hot tub is cleaned out and refilled for every new guest and checked daily to keep the chemical balance correct. The bed is a double antique iron bed as mentioned in the description and it has a very good hotel quality mattress, the comfort of the bed is down to personal preference. We provide a small table in the cottage which opens out but we find in the summer, guests enjoy eating out on the patio or using the summers house. We feel the description and images are accurate for the property however, if your concerns were raised during your stay we would have looked to make your stay as comfortable as possible. We hope to welcome you back in the future. Property Owner
