"Overall the property was well maintained and comfortable."
It was a relaxing and quiet little hideaway - perfect for a couple. We enjoyed our stay very much but do have a few snags that need to be addressed. 1. No oven gloves - which is a safety issue 2. No cooker instructions 3. Shower does not drain well even with a clean drain filter 4. The toilet flush is a little temperamental and there is a valve issue which means the water doesn't shut off 5. No toilet rolls 6. We had to wash the kitchen floor which was sticky when we arrived and clean table as there were crumbs underneath the table runner. 7. There were 4 pillows on the main bed but you could not use two of them because they were too lumpy where the microfiber had clearly broken down . 8. TV remote didn't work, put spare batteries provided in but it still didn't work properly. That said, we really appreciated the welcome gifts left and would consider returning in the future.
Hi Amanda, Thank you for your feedback on your recent stay. While I appreciate you highlighting both the positive aspects, such as the comfort and peacefulness of the property, I was a little surprised by the severity of some of the scores, particularly the 50% for facilities. I'm always reachable by phone or email, and I would have been happy to address any immediate concerns you had during your stay. Regarding the specific points you raised: 1. Oven gloves will be added to the property. 2. Unfortunately, the cooker did not come with instructions when we purchased the cottage. 3. The drain filter is in place to prevent blockages but can easily be removed by hand if needed for better drainage. 4. I will arrange for a plumber to inspect the toilet flush and valve issue. 5. Toilet rolls are always provided, and spares are located under the bathroom sink. 6. We employ a highly regarded local cleaner who consistently receives excellent feedback. 7. All pillows, bedding, and towels in the property are less than six months old. 8. The TV is also less than six months old. I will investigate the remote issue further, perhaps checking the TV receiver. I'm glad you enjoyed the welcome gifts and that you would consider staying again in the future. I hope the steps I'm taking to address these points will enhance the experience for all our guests. Kind regards, Harold Property Owner

The cottage is quirky, clean and very well equipped with a welcoming bottle! Lovely bakery in the village. We had no problem parking.
