  • "The Barn was everything we expected and so much more."

The cottage was decorated to a high standard and spotless when we arrived. As this was the first time we had been away in our electric car having the charger was a godsend and took away the stress of worrying where we could charge the car. The location was fantastic with beautiful scenery and great for exploring both Yorkshire and the Peak District.

  • "This is an outstanding property."

Very comfortable with high end fixtures and fittings. We loved our time there and so did our dogs. We had a lovely welcome pack which we appreciated. The walks are really lovely and start from the doorstep so no need to drive. The Fleece pub is close by with lovely food and very friendly staff. We have booked to go next year again.

  • "Fabulous barn in a lovely quiet village with lots of lovely walks near by."

The barn has everything you need and the owners left a lovely welcome basket for us on arrival. The location is perfect and the nearest shops are only 10 minutes away including Aldi, Lidl etc. The nearest town is Holmfirth and is so nice plenty of shops to mooch around and some lovely quirky bars. Village pub The Fleece Inn is literally a stone's throw away from The Barn. They serve lovely food and also have a pantry next door where you can buy pies, cakes etc. Would Defo come back to stay and will be recommending to family and friends.

  • "Everything was very thoughtfully put together for our enjoyment and comfort."

The Barn was clean, well maintained, and comfortable. One small point which did not detract from our enjoyment is that the hot water would run out quickly if two people were having showers at the same time. Overall a lovely, satisfying experience and would come again in a heartbeat.

  • "Ground floor accommodation layout is lovely, thoughtful walking track mowed through field."

En-suite for each bedroom with quality fittings, as were kitchen and utility room appliances. Super for walks straight from the door and as a base for exploring surrounding area. Friendly greeting from owners (nearby) and a useful welcome pack. Excellent, had a really good break here. Some ongoing groundwork, minor niggle . . . nowhere in bathrooms for toiletries.

The decor is to a very high standard and the bed alone will make you want to stay in bed all day! • "We loved our stay at The Barn."

There was plenty of room for 3 of us and our 2 dogs. Everything was very clean and well looked after. There were loads of walks from the house and we didn't really need to go further afield. The weather on one day was particularly bad and we enjoyed staying in, playing cards and watching tv. As a family we agreed this was one of the best places we've stayed in and would definitely go back again. The hosts were brilliant and let us arrive early and leave a bit later which we really appreciated.

  • "A beautiful barn conversion fitted out to a very high standard throughout and situated conveniently on the edge of the Peak District."

We loved our time there. The weather was atrocious so we didn't get out and about as much as we had planned but we still managed a few long walks and found the space very comfortable for reading, puzzles, watching films etc and the kitchen was well kitted out for cooking. The local pub was fabulous and very close and we also enjoyed a couple of lunches at The Pickled Pheasant in Holmbridge. Richard was on hand for advice and help whenever we needed. Altogether a great place to recharge our batteries before Christmas and we would happily return for another visit.
