The property

Set in the quiet rural village of Tansley, Derbyshire lies Daisy Chain Cottage at the Homestead, an attractive semi-detached cottage hosting a pretty patio perfect for the summer months, and off-road parking.

Perfect for a romantic getaway for couples, the cottage is conveniently located within the peaceful Derbyshire Dales, while being close to local amenities and the lively town of Matlock.

Arriving at the property, step into the sitting room and kick off your shoes after a day of discovering your surroundings; the sitting room hosts two sofas, a welcoming woodburning stove and underfloor heating while the neutral décor emphasises the original ceiling beams and characterful hearth.

From here, take advantage of the kitchen/diner where you will find an electric oven and induction hob, perfect for throwing together tasty meals for your loved ones to fuel your excursions.

Gather at the dining table to enjoy your meals and plan your next day of adventures, before making your way to the bedrooms for some well-deserved rest.

Climb the stairs to the first floor, where two well-presented bedrooms invite you to rest; the cottage hosts a king-size bedroom and a double bedroom, each have been thoughtfully decorated with a chic yet traditional décor, and quality beds and furnishings.

Completing the interior of this delightful dwelling is a family bathroom fitted with a bath along with a shower over, a basin, a WC, and a toasty heated towel rail.

Spend your summer evenings on your private patio area where you will find a charming dining set so you can take your meals al fresco.

If you don't fancy cooking, head out to one of the local pubs such as The Gate Inn, a welcoming country pub offering a pub grub menu.

The area also offers a variety of cuisines including Latin-American vegan cuisine at Sin Carne Cantina, and Serendib which offers Sri Lankan, Italian cuisine and the renown Wessington Fish and Chip shop so there is something for every taste.

For days out while you are staying in Daisy Chain Cottage, short drives will bring you to plenty of attractions such as Heights of Abraham, a magnificent hilltop park with cable car rides, fossil exhibitions at the museum and an abundance of tranquil walking paths.

If you are searching for adventure throughout your stay, nearby is the Peaks and Paddles Outdoor Adventure centre, which offers guided outdoor activities including canoeing, abseiling and caving.

Further afield, a scenic car journey will take you to the bustling city of Nottingham where you can treat yourself to a day of shopping on the high street and discover the City of Caves before treating yourself to a meal at one of many pubs, restaurants and cafés in the city.

If you want to do a spot of shopping you can find Sheffield with its shopping mall Meadow Hall, and for a good day of exploring there is Chatsworth House, Haddon Hall, National Trust - Hardwick Hall as well as Cromford, Caudwell mill and a 30 minute drive away the lovely Bakewell.

Matlock 2 miles.

The small, rural village of Tansley is peacefully situated in the Derbyshire Dales, just 2 miles from Matlock and is home to two welcoming pubs and several colourful garden centres. The county town of Matlock is just 2 miles away and was popular from 1698 until 1950 for its warm springs that provided water therapy to travellers from near and far. Today the town provides a host of fine eateries, good shops, a fascinating museum and at the heart of the town, Leys Hall Park provides a lovely setting for a host of recreational activities including bowls, mini golf, tennis, boating and a children’s play area. Enjoy a thrilling day at Gulliver's Kingdom with its owl maze, water gardens, nature trails, exhilarating rides and cable car trips over the magnificent Matlock Gorge. The nearby High Peak Cycle Trail provides a wonderful experience, whilst the market town of Bakewell, Chatsworth House and Park and Haddon Hall are within easy reach. A wonderful location for all the family.
