Ideally situated with plenty of walks on the doorstep including a 20 minute stroll into Matlock. Our two dogs Sandy and Teddy really enjoyed playing and lazing in the sun in the enclosed garden and we enjoyed the added bonus of the summerhouse and wonderful views. Off road parking provided the icing on the cake!

Lovely, comfy sofas, the kitchen had everything we needed and the beds were comfy too. Fabulous views from the bedrooms and garden. Sunny weather meant we could make full use of the seating areas in the garden and the summer house too! We’ve already booked to return later this year! Loved it!

Good location. The cottage is well equipped, warm and comfortable, especially with the fabric sofas. We love the decor. The view from the garden is wonderful and had the weather been better we would have eaten out there in one of the seating areas. Excellent.

So warm and comfortable and really well kitted out with quality items. Great location walkable into Matlock. The outdoor space we couldn't use as the weather wasn't good enough, but would be fab in the summer.

Thank you Lorraine for your review and lovely feedback on our property, it’s a shame the weather was not in your favour, but I hope you feel rested after your break. Thank you for staying with us. Property Owner

Loved that there were clean towels, blankets and bowls for the doggy guests in case you had forgotten anything, and treats and poo bags! Kitchen in particular equipped to very high standard and the supply of tea coffee and washing up items much appreciated. The light sensors were very welcome to make you feel safe and secure going up and down stairs. Maps and local guides also supplied along with board games to entertain us in the evenings. A real home from home (without the clutter) where you could actually have a rest. Pubs within in walking distance.

Thank you for your lovely review and we are happy you enjoyed your stay. You are welcome back anytime. Property Owner

  • "A superbly well appointed cottage with excellent facilities and spotlessly clean."

Particularly liked the night lights on the stairwells and the views from the rear garden over the hills. Two minor comments, we like to use large bath towels and pint sized glasses to consume 'refreshments'.

Thank you Bill, Apologies for the lack of pint glasses, but on the towels we supply two plus there are additional towels for you to use in the bathroom cupboards if required, thank you for your review. Property Owner

Stylish and beautifully decorated. The owners have gone out of their way to think about all those little things that make a holiday cottage home from home. The views from the top of the garden are amazing and the cottage is located close to The Heights of Abraham, Chatsworth House and Bakewell. Crich Tramway Musuem is well worth a visit. • "We had a fabulous stay at Barley cottage- I don’t think the photos do it justice!"

It’s stylish and immaculate, with really good quality fixtures and fittings and a well kitted out kitchen. I was a bit apprehensive when I booked as I couldn’t find any reviews but this is clearly because the place is brand new. There are beautiful walks on your doorstep and lots to do nearby. The terrace has a wonderful view I could have sat there all day. This cottage has lots of stairs that are quite steep, both inside and outside so please be aware that if anyone is a bit unsteady on their feet this might be a bit difficult for them. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend to anyone else and hope to be back again soon.Thank you!

A lovely review and thank you, we are happy you enjoyed your stay with us and hope to see you again in the not too distance future. Property Owner
