  • "We found our stay very enjoyable."

The owner solved a big problem very quick and accurate. A problem caused by extreme weather problems. We appreciate his concerne and care.

  • "Had a great time at Ciaran Cottage, fabulous views and location."

Very clean, comfortable, and equipped well. Great base to explore all the wonderful sites close by and not forgetting the many walks and Glens. Thank you.

  • "A lovely property, well appointed and beautifully presented with wonderful views."

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The only suggestion we have is that the dining table was very cramped for four adults and a second folding table would have been very useful. We had no problems with the water supply but noted that the pressure can be low especially when the properties lower down the hill are busy.

  • "This property really hit the spot for us, the location, the cleanliness, the views and the large glass windows were a real treat."

This is a real gem of a property and I would consider coming back to it again and again. Thank you so much for having us.

  • "Ciaran cottage is the perfect holiday home for 2 people."

Everything needed inthe house there, including a generous welcome pack! The views from the windows and outside deck over Loch Tay are an ever changing delight and also it is dog friendly. We loved our week there and think it would every cosy in the autumn with the wood burner. We think a folder of instructions for the heating and appliances / Wi-Fi is needed- our only criticism.! • "Anne and I liked the cottage, location, facilities and layout."

However, on Sunday 5th,there was no cold water in the morning. The shower tray filled up with water to the point of overflowing when switched on and cleared only after some time. The kitchen basin never drained even after a small amount of water. I phoned Billy the owner who helpfully said that he'd had difficulty with Scottish Water regarding the Boreland property below Ciaran Cottage.I then phoned Sykes on Friday at 4.20 to inform of these issues and was told that I would receive a call back around 5.30pm, once the owner had been contacted. I never received this call back then or since. We are not seeking any money for these complaints, simply informing you of these problems, especially as we have another holiday booked at this cottage, late April and want reassurance that these problems would be dealt with. The way you have not to followed up which makes us wonder if we should cancel our next booking with you ?

Hello again John, and thank you for your feedback. I can confirm that there was indeed a blockage in the drainage system leading away from the cottage, as suspected, which has since been rectified by the plumber who attended at the weekend. The cottage has just undergone a full renovation and the drainage hasn't been fully utilised for some time, so this has been one teething problem that's been resolved. It is most likely my fault that Sykes never followed up on your call, as they had tried to contact myself after I spoke to you but I never received the message until some time later on as I am working offshore. The low water pressure is an issue that we are currently dealing with Scottish Water about, its been an ongoing issue for the area and not isolated to our property, however we seem to get the worst of it given the location on the hillside and the usage of the neighboring property at Boreland. We are hopeful that something can be done to improve the pressure but I'm not sure how quick a fix this will be unfortunately. We are glad you liked the cottage and can only apologise again for any inconvenience caused with the blockage to the sink and shower. Property Owner

About the location

KENMORE

Aberfeldy 6 miles, Pitlochry 20 miles, Dunkeld 24 miles.

The village of Kenmore sits at the eastern end of Loch Tay where the River Tay flows out of the loch and dates from the 16th century. Originally built on the north side of the river, the village was moved in mid-sixteenth century to accommodate a castle being built on the north shore. The relocation gave the village its current name reflecting its position on a large headland: Kenmore – ‘large head’ in Gaelic. It is Loch Tay that makes Kenmore such a popular tourist draw today with the many watersports, fishing, hillwalking and cycling activities on and around the loch. Why not visit the Scottish Crannog Centre and discover an ancient way of life in a reconstructed thatched house on stilts? Built on the loch and able to repel danger with the aid of a retractable gangway, these houses provide a fascinating insight into ancient civilisations. The village has shops, a couple of hotels and a restaurant and with the attractive towns of Aberfeldy, Pitlochry and Dunkeld nearby, the tourist is very well provided for. The area is famous for its truly spectacular scenery and whether you are on the water, in the hills or in the shops, Kenmore can provide a stunning backdrop to a very pleasant break.
