  • "A really lovely cottage in a beautiful spot."

We've holidayed on the area for many years and absolutely love it. The house comfortably accommodated the whole family. The downstairs bathroom and shower room.was particularly helpful for my mum in her eighties with limited mobility. The cottage is really well equipped and has everything you need for a really, relaxing holiday. Heather and family.

  • "The property is excellent, far larger than anticipated and extremely well appointed."

Ideal for a large family or group and has everything you could ask for. Excellent kitchen and fixtures, good sized bedrooms most with amazing views. Located a short walk from the village and it's activities including a very good gastro pub and adjacent to the coastal paths. A really nice touch was the welcome box of some essentials. Would definitely consider booking again.

  • "We really enjoyed our break at Pickleridge Cottage."

Having two lounges was ideal , one for kids, one for adults! Plenty of parking space. Lovely views over the lagoon.

  • "Overall very happy with the cottage, it’s spacious, comfortable and well equipped, with a nice big garden and plenty of parking."

Quiet location. Walks from the door and a short drive to pub, beaches and cafe. Minor niggles - it’s a little bit tatty in places, ie cracked floor tiles and some plaster walls crumbling. And although the main areas and bathrooms were very clean, there was a fair bit of dust and cobwebs if you moved anything ie coffee tables and table lamps. But we had an enjoyable week exploring the local area

We really can't fault the property.

  • "Everything was lovely, tastefully decorated and beds and pillows extra comfortable."

one small detail mentioned by an older family member is the three steps to the high level bedrooms, is that a small handrail would have been useful to help pull oneself up .

  • "We loved the location, parking facilities and size of the property, but there was one issue that prevented us from leaving the full 5 star review."

Some areas of the property were not very clean - eg: bathrooms and kitchenware were all in need of a clean before we could use them...however the bedding was pristine!

  • "A lovely cottage in a lovely location."

Loads of parking, really good facilities, everything you could need in the kitchen and an amazing shower! We absolutely loved the welcome pack. It was really thoughtful, practical and the wine was delicious.

  • "Stunning property with amazing views from every window!"

Quality furnishings throughout. Very steep stairs from lounge to lounge/bathroom which made it difficult for elderly mum, but everything else was perfect plus the new log burner which isn’t shown in your photos. Highly recommend property and a lovely welcome basket supplied. Next doors dog is a bit of a barker though!

  • "Fantastic holiday."

Cottage is very well equipped, especially the kitchen. Great layout and having two sitting rooms was a bonus, as we had one for adults and one for teenagers. Stunning views and area. We even met the owner who was fantastically knowledgeable and gave us tips on places to go. He even lent us wetsuits and boards. Thank you. We didn't end up using them, but the kids did take a dip (fully clothed) when we went to Tenby.

  • "The best equipped cottage we’ve ever stayed in."

Usually you get a 6 piece plate and cutlery set and end up doing multiple wash ups just to get through a meal, so Pickleridge View was a massive step above the rest. Superb location, great patios at front and back so always somewhere to catch the sun. Pictures were fantastic and really helped create the seaside mood. Garden was a great size for the dog and very secure so felt safe letting him run free. Water lovely and hot, with great pressure so showering was a luxurious experience. Dale was lovely and the Griffin Inn is highly recommended. A great week!

  • "Lovely big property which is well equipped."

Good measures in place in relation to covid. Good box of goodies on arrival. To be aware of steps down to the downstairs bedroom, living room and bathroom which for less mobile visitors were tricky. The sofas are also quite low. Lovely area to stay in.

  • "Pickleridge View is in a fantastic location and is really well equiped."

There is more than enough room for a large family or even two groups together. The beds and seating in the lounge aren't the most comfortable but don't really detract from what is a really nice location for a holiday.

  • "Lovely accommodation with spectacular countryside all around and great birdwatching."

Kitchen really well equipped and all 5 of us enjoyed the powerful showers and spacious living areas. Just one thing- we were not sure how to dispose of our rubbish and on which day it was collected. Some info on this would have been useful.

About the location

DALE

Marloes 1.1 miles; St Ishmaels 3.5 miles; Milford Haven 8.9 miles; Haverfordwest 12.1 miles.

The village of Dale is situated in a sheltered bay, on the Marloes Peninsula, within the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park. Situated on the Pembrokeshire coastal path and designated a SSSI, Dale also attracts birdwatchers and ramblers. Both West Dale beach ad the Gann are within walking distance from the village. During the 18th century, the village produced ale which was then exported to Liverpool and then from the 18th to the early part of the 20th century, Dale was used to transfer limestone and coal. Today, Dale is known for its watersports and has a pub serving food, a shop, a café, a restaurant and a fort. Dale is a favourite with windsurfers and yachtsmen due to its sheltered harbour within the Milford Haven waterway. There is a busy watersports hire centre with the Boathouse cafe attached and the pontoon for tying up small craft or trying out crabbing skills. The yacht club is open to all and has both a cafe and the Moorings restaurant. The pub, The Griffin Inn, has won awards for its seafood, all caught locally. Just one mile away is the village of Marloes which has a pub, The Lobster Pot, a small café and a shop. The spectacular beaches and rocky coves around Marloes are well-known for many historic shipwrecks, caused by the treacherous seas surrounding Skokholm Island, just off the coast. Marloes Sands, a National Trust beach with spectacular geology is certainly worth a visit, as is Skomer Island, where you can take a boat trip to view its 6,000 pairs of puffins and 120,000 pairs of Manx Shearwaters. Within reach is the small town of Milford Haven with a picturesque marina, unique shops, galleries, tea rooms and restaurants, along with the award-winning Torch Theatre. Also close by is Haverfordwest, the county town of Pembrokeshire with quaint little gift shops, pubs, restaurants, tea rooms and a vibrant night life. Haverfordwest sits at the mouth of the River Cleddau and with its castle, museum and large leisure complex it is a great day out for all the family. Dale is an ideal base for exploring this part of South Wales.
