  • "A lovely place to stay, wonderfully equipped and very comfortable."

Having a great cafe next door was an unexpected bonus.

  • "We had a wonderfully stay at the stone masons house with our 5 children and little sausage dog, the garden was just perfect for the beautiful weather we had."

We visited the millshack cafe next door run by the owners for breakfast and lunch and weren’t disappointed. We visited Haworth, Skipton and Hebden bridge for lovely days out! The children loved the pool table in the dining room, they slept on the top floor with there own bathroom and it felt safe knowing they were above us! The house feels much bigger and we could all spread about on an evening but still all sit together in the living room after a busy day. Hot tub was wonderful with the decking area close by so everyone was together in and out the hot tub! We had no problems with wifi (we had in a lot of large properties we have stay in) and TV easy to use in every room! Our teenage son stayed in one of the king bedroom with his own bathroom and didn’t want to come home, perfect for couples or grandparents travelling together as totally you own bedroom space! We loved the house and the area, and we definitely recommend to others and would love to come back thank you sally xxx

  • "Stonemasons House is delightful in every sense of the word."

It’s very spacious, 3 king-sized bedrooms all with spacious well equipped en suites, meant each of us could get ready at our own pace without worrying about holding anyone up, and every room is beautifully decorated with stylish quirky touches everywhere. The beds are supremely comfortable-I usually struggle to sleep when away from home but there was no such problem here. Stonemasons is on several levels which adds to the quirky charm, but if you have mobility problems then this house is probably not for you as there is quite a bit of stair climbing. There are fantastic facilities here including a gorgeous top-notch hot tub which is kept at constant temperature so is ready for use at any time, and a dining table which converts to a pool table, both of which added to our enjoyment. The garden is gorgeous and although as other reviewers mention there is a road running alongside the property, it is not in any way intrusive. Sitting in the garden on the decking you could imagine you were in the heart of the Yorkshire countryside, the glorious scenery and distant sound of the occasional steam train made this seem like paradise. An added bonus is the friendly and well run cafe next door which belongs to the owner of Stonemasons, serving the most delicious breakfasts and lunches. It’s a very handy base to visit Haworth which is just gorgeous, and the stunning Yorkshire Dales. There’s so much to see close by. We loved it here and hope to return.

  • "We’ve had an absolutely wonderful time staying at The Stonemason’s House."

It is impeccably presented, with wonderful facilities including a sparkling hot tub and beautiful garden. The house is very comfortable and stylishly furnished. There’s plenty of room and certainly no queue for the bathroom with 3 en-suites! Even down to the pool table/dining table and other games, the owners have clearly taken a lot of though to make their guests as comfortable as possible. Location is great, with excellent walks from the door, including a stroll to the heritage railway. The local villages and towns are very accessible and have lots of things to see and do. There’s even a lovely cafe next door which has great food and a wonderful atmosphere. We really did have a lovely time and can’t wait to go back!

Quirky with character. Our boy loved the hot tub & dog loved the big garden. Haworth is walking distance with lots of pubs & shops. The cafe next door is very nice.

  • "Our group of friends thoroughly enjoyed our time at The Stonemasons House."

Just a 5 minute drive or 20 minute walk to visit Haworth main street and the Parsonage. We enjoyed popping next door to the Mill Stack cafe for breakfast or coffee and delicious cakes. Very interesting colourful house, on 4 levels. It was such fun to watch the steam trains entering the tunnel from the garden and chilling in the hot tub after walks across the beautiful moorland countryside.

  • "Brilliant stay in a fantastic house."

Everything you need is there! Lots of room, comfortable beds and lovely modern bathrooms. Large hot-tub outside, kept at a constant temperature, so ready to use! A cafe has recently been opened by the owner, at the side of the property, perfect for breakfast, and lunches! Only warning I would give, is that the house is four storeys, so lots of stairs to climb! Would definitely recommend a stay here!

I’ll definitely be rebooking the next time I visit UK to see my family. Owner was very helpful with anything we needed, and the house had everything we needed, the spa was amazing!

  • "We had a fantastic week at this beautiful property."

The house is immaculately clean and well presented. Not sure how they manage it with such a tight turn around. Hot tub was fun and the garden is delightful. Owners very friendly. Want to re-book already. Shame Welcome Packs have not been reintroduced even though all Covid restrictions have been lifted- its always disappointing to spend £1000+ plus on a cottage and not feel like there is a 'special welcome'. There are 4 floors to the property though which is not really clear in the description and the mattress in the bedroom at the back is a bit lumpy but these are minor issues. Maybe in the description for the parking information it should say that you park in the cafe car park, as we did drive around a couple of times before working it out. Thanks for a great time and the opportunity to make great memories

A beautiful cottage/house! It was huge! We loved the garden and hot tub and were so lucky with the gorgeous weather so made the most of it. My husband, daughter and I were in the top room (lots of stairs!), but it was lovely. Very comfy bed. We all loved the decor in the other two bathrooms and I loved the quirky chairs dotted about. Thank you!

Pool table was a nice touch and great walks locally from the door. The road was busy at peak times and sometimes started early but then very quiet and hardly noticeable at others! Useful bus stop at the bottom of the hill to save a walk up to Haworth if feeling lazy!

We loved all the quirky decor and really enjoyed a dip in the hot tub in the evening. The hot tub does have a shelter so sun cover or in our case rain cover but you can still see the lovely views. The dining table that converts to a pool table was also a great idea.

The house itself was gorgeous and even better than what we were expecting from the photos. The weather was beautiful so we were able to sit outside on the fantastic patio area and enjoy lunch and dinner overlooking the beautiful countryside. Sally was so lovely and very communicative during our stay. Her husband popped around to check on the hot tub and Sally made sure to give us a head's up before he came around. The house is in a great location too; a 10-15 minute walk gets you into the beautiful village of Haworth. We will definitely be back!

About the location

Haworth 1 mile; Skipton 10 miles.

Oakworth is a small Pennine village just two miles from Haworth, overlooking the Worth Valley, made famous by the filming of the classic 1970 film version of E.E. Nesbitt's novel, The Railway Children. Besides its close proximity to Haworth and the moors, Oakworth has an attractive ornamental park, and is within easy reach of the town of Keighley. Nearby Haworth was home to the famous Bronte sisters, who were much-inspired by the surrounding moorland. Haworth has a myriad of curiosity and antique shops, alleyways and cobbled streets creating a wonderful period atmosphere, and all this against a backdrop of countryside famously described in the novel Wuthering Heights. Nearby, the famous Worth Valley Railway, an authentic steam railway brought to prominence in the film The Railway Children, makes a lovely day out, with a regular service to the old village of Oxenhope. The area is full of popular places to visit, including the Bronte Parsonage Museum, East Riddlesden Hall, and the Museum of Rail. The market town of Skipton, Gateway to the Yorkshire Dales, is just a short drive away, and also within reach are elegant Harrogate, and vibrant Leeds and Manchester.
