  • "I loved my stay here at The Stone Masons House."

The girls thoroughly enjoyed the stay and found the home clean, cosy and relaxing, especially taking advantage of the fire in the living room. Will definitely be booking again when the weather perks up, but I couldn't thank the owners enough for going the extra mile in making our stay perfect. x

  • "We absolutely love coming here!"

It’s our fourth visit and it’s been lush every time. We take our two Newfoundlands who spend all their time exploring the garden while we relax in the hot tub, which is well maintained throughout our stay. The only notes we have this time are very minor but worth’s watch: - The cafe’s success is heartwarming to see and very handy to have next door but when coming and going in the car, the parking situation is a nightmare. Also when the upholstery place has visitors they seem to assume they can park wherever they want and often use the spots designated for the house or block you in. - The cleanliness and facilities are always very good here and you can tell the owners take great pride in looking after their property. However there’s some small deep clean jobs creeping in that often get missed when you’re busy (cobwebs and the like) so suggest maybe hiring some help in that department. The kitchen also has a lack of equipment compared to when we first started visiting; maybe it’d be possible to charge guests for the disappearance or damage of pots pans etc. We all know how expensive things are at the moment - guests should definitely be showing respect for both owners and fellow guests in this department. What I’d like to make clear is that despite me noting these points down, it will NOT stop us booking again and visiting for the fifth time next year. They are mainly constructive points. Sally is a wonderful host and extremely warm businesswoman, you can tell she genuinely LOVES her property and her cafe and takes pride in its success.

The owners have made a terrific job of restoring it - the interior design really compliments the house. We enjoyed sitting in the garden each evening making the most of the unseasonably warm Yorkshire weather. On our last morning, our dog refused to leave until we promised to come back again! By the way, we can really recommend breakfast at the owner's Millstack Cafe next door.

Plenty room for the 7 of us. Our grandsons especially loved the pool table and we all enjoyed the hot tub. All facilities were included (dishwasher, washing machine etc), and it made the stay there relaxing and very enjoyable. Close to all local amenities and beautiful places to visit, many within walking distance (Haworth village and Oakworth train station which were amazing, especially for me being a massive fan of “The Railway Children “. Sally was in touch regularly to keep us up to date about the booking arrangements, key safe codes etc which made it very straightforward and easy to organise. I would highly recommend the Stonemasons House as a place to stay.

The house was clean and very spacious with lovely en suites. The living room was beautiful and the kitchen area was great looking out onto the garden area, another room we spent alot of time in. The cafe next door was a lovely surprise and the coffee and food was excellent, had coffee most days in there. Our party consisted of 6 adults and a dog and there was plenty of room for everyone. It is a beautiful spotlessly clean cottage with a well equipped kitchen that had everything we needed, it also had a nice secure garden for our dog. The 3 bedrooms are all en-suite which was absolutely brilliant and the beds are the most comfortable we have ever had in a holiday let The hot tub which Sally came in 3 times during the week to maintain and pool table ( for the boys) is just what is needed after a busy day shopping or trekking across the Dales. The owners of this house should be really proud as they have done an amazing job with the styling and decoration it’s just like a home from home. If you require any assistance or information regarding walks or things to do Sally and her Sister are always available next door in the cafe which by the way does the best breakfast but book a table as it is very popular Thanks the Court-Tempest Family

The cafe next door, also owned by Sally the owner, does great food and we often popped in for take away coffees as they were so nice. Sally was a very good host and let us know that she was on hand if we needed anything. Everything was beautifully presented and the house was warm and welcoming. We loved the log burner which we lit most nights and the Hot tub was an added bonus after long days walking in the cold, wet Yorkshire countryside. There was plenty of space for our family of 4 adults, 2 children and 2 Cocker Spaniels which was set over 4 floors. The owner was super helpful and on hand if we needed anything at all including looking for our sons Joycons that he thought he had left behind. The only down side we found was the mattress was uncomfortable. We were in the slightly smaller double room with green walls and we really struggled to get a good nights sleep. on it.

We used the log burner in the evening which was lovely and warm , the central heating was good when on but didn’t come on in the mornings. All bedroom are en-suite with nice fittings. The house is over four floors so lots of stairs. The blue corner sofa is quite low and not overly comfortable. The garden is very nice and the hot tub is under a wooden canopy which was good as we used it when it was raining hard. We had a nice walk into Keighley and then caught the steam train to Haworth and then walked back to the house. Next door is the Millstack cafe which is lovely for breakfast and the cakes looked very good. A lovely house and would recommend.

It’s very spacious, 3 king-sized bedrooms all with spacious well equipped en suites, meant each of us could get ready at our own pace without worrying about holding anyone up, and every room is beautifully decorated with stylish quirky touches everywhere. The beds are supremely comfortable-I usually struggle to sleep when away from home but there was no such problem here. Stonemasons is on several levels which adds to the quirky charm, but if you have mobility problems then this house is probably not for you as there is quite a bit of stair climbing. There are fantastic facilities here including a gorgeous top-notch hot tub which is kept at constant temperature so is ready for use at any time, and a dining table which converts to a pool table, both of which added to our enjoyment. The garden is gorgeous and although as other reviewers mention there is a road running alongside the property, it is not in any way intrusive. Sitting in the garden on the decking you could imagine you were in the heart of the Yorkshire countryside, the glorious scenery and distant sound of the occasional steam train made this seem like paradise. An added bonus is the friendly and well run cafe next door which belongs to the owner of Stonemasons, serving the most delicious breakfasts and lunches. It’s a very handy base to visit Haworth which is just gorgeous, and the stunning Yorkshire Dales. There’s so much to see close by. We loved it here and hope to return.

Want to re-book already. Shame Welcome Packs have not been reintroduced even though all Covid restrictions have been lifted- its always disappointing to spend £1000+ plus on a cottage and not feel like there is a 'special welcome'. There are 4 floors to the property though which is not really clear in the description and the mattress in the bedroom at the back is a bit lumpy but these are minor issues. About the location

OAKWORTH

Haworth 1 mile; Skipton 10 miles.

Oakworth is a small Pennine village just two miles from Haworth, overlooking the Worth Valley, made famous by the filming of the classic 1970 film version of E.E. Nesbitt's novel, The Railway Children. Besides its close proximity to Haworth and the moors, Oakworth has an attractive ornamental park, and is within easy reach of the town of Keighley. Nearby Haworth was home to the famous Bronte sisters, who were much-inspired by the surrounding moorland. Haworth has a myriad of curiosity and antique shops, alleyways and cobbled streets creating a wonderful period atmosphere, and all this against a backdrop of countryside famously described in the novel Wuthering Heights. Nearby, the famous Worth Valley Railway, an authentic steam railway brought to prominence in the film The Railway Children, makes a lovely day out, with a regular service to the old village of Oxenhope. The area is full of popular places to visit, including the Bronte Parsonage Museum, East Riddlesden Hall, and the Museum of Rail. The market town of Skipton, Gateway to the Yorkshire Dales, is just a short drive away, and also within reach are elegant Harrogate, and vibrant Leeds and Manchester.
