  • "We had a lovely stay in Haworth, what a beautiful village and Main Street has so much character."

The property was amazing, quirky and charming. Loved it! The only negative thing was the cleanliness of the oven, it was very dirty and looked as though it had not been cleaned in months. Due to this we only used it once to cook chicken for the dog and it made the whole property smell. Once this has been deep cleaned properly, this will be a 5 star accommodation. I would definitely recommend a visit!

Feels like home immediately. Super well located. Host has done an amazing job on the interior design. The little garden space is super cute. I locked myself out by accident and the host came to my rescue, he even left me some bread so I wouldn't be without food. Really special place!

  • "Nice little cottage in the centre of Howarth close to shops, cafes and pubs all in walking distance."

Got easily parked next to Central Park. Neighbours were really friendly and the bread and milk was a nice touch, thank you. Only downside of this cottage was the comfort. Beds were really uncomfortable could feel the springs in the double bed and the single is not a full size bed, was even a little too small for my 10 year old. Towels were provided but weren’t the biggest either, not able to wrap around fully. We had a lovely time but not sure we would stop again purely because of the uncomfortable beds.

Sorry to hear you didn’t enjoy aspects of the cottage. The towels are full size bath towels and we provide one per guest along with a smaller towel each. The bed is regularly commented on as more comfortable than peoples’ beds at home… but I know these things are very personal to the individual. Thanks so much for staying! Property Owner

  • "Very nice comfortable property."

The space was perfect for us and the location is great, right on the main street, which is very quiet Wifi was strong, sitting room and kitchen were good. Shower was strong. A few very minor negative issues if were implemented would make things much nicer. 1. Better mattress and or mattress topper. The bed wasn't very comfortable - you could feel the springs. 2. Ensure the dishes, glasses and pots are clean for the next guest. We had to wash quite a few of the above before using. 3. Create a place to sit and eat at the dining table - only one chair at the table - the other one in bedroom used as an end table. We would book again in a heartbeat if we knew that the mattress was replaced or made more comfortable.

Thanks so much for your feedback. We will look into the mates as it is quite new. As you say a topper might be a good option! The seating area for diners is tricky as we try to get the balance of maintaining space in the living area with having more furniture for dining that takes up space. Thanks for taking the time to leave a review! Property Owner

  • "It's a lovely cottage perfectly situated to get the best out of a visit to Haworth but it has not been maintained very well!"

No welcome pack / basket Black mould in bathroom round shower edge, ceiling ventilator & skylight window. Lounge furniture not been moved for some time to clean under. Carpet loose on top stair (trip hazard), skirting board come away from wall behind kitchen door, no bulb in lounge lamp (behind TV) or in one of the bedroom lamps and lounge wall lights didn't work We had to call the owner out on Christmas Eve due to water coming through the lounge ceiling from the shower. The owner came over shortly after and sorted it out (the cleaner had not tightened the shower plug in properly) which was much appreciated but it could easily have been avoided

Many thanks for your feedback. We will certainly take it on board. After several issues reported we now have new cleaners in place since the new year. The leak was a one off highly unfortunate event never to be repeated! So sorry about this. Property Owner

Very comfortable and generally well equipped and clean. Warm and cosy.. Could do with updating baking trays and some of the crockery. Ironing board had no cover on. Small suggestions as really enjoyed our stay, and would have no hesitation in recommending it! Would love to stay again sometime if we’re planning a visit to Haworth.

  • "The cottage is located very favourably for visiting Haworth."

We've stayed in many holiday cottages, mostly In the Yorkshire area, and three in Haworth. We were disappointed however to find there was not even a drop of milk left for us after our journey - which was lengthy due to accidents on the motorway. This rental was handsomely priced so a little milk was expected. The bedding and towels could do with an uprate too. I think on balance I would say it was clean but pictures on the site were a little misleading as it wasn't as comfortable as it looked or as stated. The double bed I felt, had seen better days too. Not a bad cottage but certainly not worth the price paid. Overall we were dissapointed. We left a day early.

Many thanks for your feedback. We will certainly take it on board. After several issues reported we now have new cleaners in place since the new year. Welcome packs are now being left as they were previously. I’m surprised to hear about the bed as we have had good feedback on this. Will check though to ensure there are no issues. The towels are replaced regularly and where needed but again will check this following your feedback. Property Owner

  • "Gorgeous cottage in an amazing location - warm, cosy and tastefully decorated."

The cottage was very clean, but some of the kitchen items weren’t (the glasses were grubby, lipstick mark on a glass and dried on food on a few items of cutlery). We then washed everything before using it, particularly given the current Covid situation. That said, everything was excellent and I would stay again.

Many thanks for your feedback. We will certainly take it on board and apologise for the washing up that was required. After several issues reported we now have new cleaners in place since the new year 2023. Property Owner

Everyone was very friendly and welcoming, even after a pretty exuberant 1940s weekend. We would particularly recommend having coffee and cake at 'No.10' opposite, as the cakes are divine. Also recommend 'Cobbles and Clay' for a very pleasant lunch and relaxing afternoon painting your own mug, and pizzas at the 'Hawthorn' were also good. The only problem for us was the parking, and once we'd managed to get a spot on Rawdon Road (top of the park) we just left the car there for the duration of our stay. Other than that, can highly recommend.

About the location

Skipton 13 miles; Hebden Bridge 8 miles.

The small village of Haworth was home to the famous Bronte sisters, who were inspired by the surrounding moorland to pen their novels, which have become classics of English Literature. Haworth is a village that time almost forgot, with its myriad of curiosity and antique shops, alleyways and cobbled streets creating a wonderful period atmosphere, all set against a framing backdrop of countryside famously described in the novel Wuthering Heights as wild, rugged and barren. Nearby, the famous Keighley and Worth Valley Railway, an authentic steam railway brought to prominence in the film The Railway Children, provides a lovely day out with a regular service to the old village of Oxenhope. The area abounds with popular places to visit, including the Bronte Parsonage Museum, East Riddlesden Hall, and the National Railway Museum in York. The market town of Skipton, often fondly regarded as the Gateway to the Yorkshire Dales, is just a short drive away, and also within reach are elegant Harrogate and vibrant Leeds and Manchester.
