Ayrshire Cottages
Please find below a selection of self-catering holiday cottages
to rent in Ayrshire, Scotland.
Welcome to Ayrshire, birthplace of Robert Burns and home to
spectacular countryside, a fantastic selection of things to see and
do - and some fabulous Ayrshire holiday cottages!
If you love the great outdoors, Ayrshire ticks all the boxes.
Walking boots, bikes, whichever method you prefer, there are trails
and paths for everyone, from family rambles along coastal paths to
challenging treks up into the hills, all guaranteeing glorious
scenery and plenty of fresh air.
Over at the coast, little ones can let off steam on the beaches,
splashing around in rock pools and building sandcastles. Or hop
aboard the Waverly, a magnificent old paddle steamer and enjoy a
leisurely cruise. Prefer sailing? The Firth of Clyde is naturally
sheltered and offers wonderful conditions - and there are three
outstanding marinas at Largs, Ardrossan and Troon.
Back on land, you may be interested to know that Ayrshire boasts
an excellent choice of municipal golf courses, plus championship
greens at Turnberry and Royal Troon - little wonder enthusiasts
flock here.
The region is also brimming with historical and cultural
attractions, including Brodick Castle, the Scottish Maritime Museum
and the Burns National Heritage Park in Alloway.
During your Ayrshire cottage holiday, do explore the
neighbouring islands too. The beautiful Isle of Arran, often
described as 'Scotland in Miniature', is bursting with
scenic and gourmet delights; while the Isle of Cumbrae is a
paradise for cyclists.
Whether it's an active family break or a relaxing escape for
two, an Ayrshire holiday cottage is well worth considering.
