The Three-Legged Mare, York

In the centre of the bustling city of York, you will find The Three-Legged Mare, a traditional real ale pub, with regular live music events and a warm welcome upon arrival.

Locally known as “Wonkey Donkey”, this dog-friendly York pub has a great reputation for its fine selection of 9 real ales, which have attracted visitors from all over the country since they first opened in 2001.

With a regular Monday quiz night, a Thursday Open Mic night and a Friday Open Folk night, this is not a place you want to miss while you’re visiting.

Your dogs will be provided with a bowl of water as soon as you walk through the door, with the owners priding themselves on a relaxing, dog-friendly atmosphere and plenty of treats for your four-legged friend.

2. Minster Inn

Housed in an Edwardian Ale House, this modern dog-friendly York pub is situated next to the River Ouse and easily accessible from York city centre.

Whatever your dietary requirement, there will be something for you. A lovely selection of vegan, vegetarian and gluten free options, with locally-sourced ingredients.

3. The Gillygate

If you’re a dog lover, and can’t bear to part from your four-legged friend while you jet off on holiday, now you don’t have to!

The Gillygate Hotel is a dog-friendly venue with refurbished pub rooms offering a modern and welcoming space to enjoy local beers, spirits, soft drinks or a fine selection of wine.
