"Property great location and ideal for the 2 of us."
"This is a very special property in a fantastic location on Anglesey."
It had everything we needed and was enjoyed by the whole family, especially the dogs! The proximity to the beach was a real strength of the place and made early morning dog walks exceptionally enjoyable. The hosts were on hand if needed and were very kind and friendly. Definitely hoping to return!
Well equipped cottage, but hairy approach!!!
"Awesome place and the owners are very helpful"
"Beautiful area close to the quaint seaside resort of Beaumaris."
The cottage is in an amazing location right next to the beach. We were very comfortable here, enjoyed the sea view from the sitting room and watching the sunsets from the garden. We had everything we needed and the new bed is sumptuous. It’s worth knowing that the mile long road down from Llanddona village is narrow, steep and twisty. But there are passing places and by the end of the week we were going up and down without a qualm. Altogether a fab place which we will return to.
"Avoid at all costs."
The house has a good aspect but unfortunately let down by being cheaply furnished. One of owners who lives behind house was intrusive, unwelcoming and made the stay an unpleasant experience. Would not recommend.
We are really sorry the cottage didn't meet your expectations. We always try to be sensitive to our guests and not be intrusive in any way. We do allow dogs, which means we may not invest heavily in high end furniture and fittings but we do strive to ensure our cottage is clean, has nice linen and a good level of comfort. The cottage has had some good improvements made to it this year. We will be adopting the security bond system going forward to ensure that we don't have any cause to ask customers to retrospectively pay for any damage or repairs and hopefully this creates a fair and reasonable expectation on both sides. "We had a wonderful stay overlooking the beautiful beach."
The cottage was very comfortable. We will return
"We have stayed here 3 times over the past 9 years I think it is and there really hasn't been any updates with furniture, the double bed was uncomfortable for us and we ended up using the two singles which were really comfortable."
The cottage sleeps 4 but still there is only a 2 seater settee and one arm chair so not ideal or comfortable for 4 people to relax. The location is what does it for us, right on the beach, fantastic, but am sorry to say we wont be returning, and what has added to making this decision was the 2 visits from the owner who walked past the front door and knocked on the lounge room window which I thought was a little intrusive, and also the fact the owner made a point of telling me twice, on these visits, to put money in the honesty box on the fire place for logs and kindle even though there was a sign/note clear to see stating this....
Beautiful views and very friendly and helpful hosts. Would love to return.
"My friend, myself and Pebbles the dog stayed here for a week."
Lovely homely cottage providing everything we needed. Fabulous views of the beach from every aspect. A real find. Loved my early evening walks on the beach with Pebbles before setting in for the night. Owners live close by and where very helpful, but not intrusive. We would definitely go back again without hesitation.
"This is my fourth stay at Hen Felin cottage."
The owners and family members on site are very helpful, welcoming and thoughtful. We love the location and the views from the lounge window are unbeatable. The beds and furnishings are comfortable and the kitchen is well equipped. We have had a couple of small issues while staying there and they have been sorted immediately without any fuss.
"This is my second time staying in Hen Felin Isaf, and it didn't disappoint."
The location is peaceful and the views are stunning, plus it is almost on the beach. You can go to sleep to the sound of lapping waves and wake up to the dawn chorus. The cottage is very homely and comfortable. It is equipped with everything you need for a self-catering holiday and the owners are extremely welcoming and friendly but leave you to get on with your holiday. We have already booked a week in October - that is how much we love staying here.
"What a little gem of a property."
superb location right opposite the beach and a short car journey to Beaumaris and red wharf bay. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and the view. Owners very welcoming and helpful .
"Had a fantastic Christmas at Hen Felin Isaf cottage ."
The family who own the property made us feel right at home. Situated right on the beach , perfect for walking with the dog. Who needs to go abroad, when you have this on your door step..
"The bathroom had a small amount of mold & the tiles in the kitchen close to the units had not been cleaned."
The property was in a great place & was general very good. A deep clean of the bathroom & kitchen flooring is all that is need to get 5 stars.
"The cottage is situated in a superb location making for a very relaxing holiday."
Yes the road to it is narrow, but we managed without any problems. The cottage was very clean and had pretty much all you could want. If I had to make a criticism it would be the lack of information, leaflets on places to visit etc but perhaps that was a Covid issue?
"We found the cottage perfect for two of us and a dog."
It was clean, comfortable and had everything we needed. The location was great for walks along Red Wharf Bay and the views from the garden were beautiful, particularly the sunsets. The lane down to the cottage was very steep, narrow and had a lot of twists and turns and could be busy at times with campers and visitors to the bay. The owners lived next door and were really friendly and helpful without being intrusive.
"This cottage is in the most scenic location with views from all the main rooms out across Red Wharf Bay, at High Tide the sea is only about 80 ft away."
At low tide there are miles of sandy beach to walk on, right across the bay. The sunsets are stunning. The cottage is very comfortable and has everything you need to self cater. The Bathroom and ensuite Cloakroom are modern and well equipped. The Hosts Brother lives on site with his wife and gorgeous doggy. They are lovely and welcoming, but not intrusive in anyway. The only comment we have that is not totally positive is that the mattresses have seen better days but it will me stop me returning.
"The cottage has a fantastic location."
It was well equipped, clean and tidy. We are a family of four - two adults, two teenagers and a dog. There was plenty of room for us to eat and relax. The owners were friendly and very helpful, without being at all intrusive. After welcoming us, they left us in peace to enjoy our break. We really enjoyed our stay and will definitely consider returning in the future.
"A wonderful cottage!"
!! We would highly recommend a visit. We’re definitely going to be going back. 10/10
"Better than described, beautiful cottage, made even better by knowing I could take my furry friends with me."
Lovely owners, there if you needed them but otherwise left you to enjoy your holiday. One of my favourite holidays ever, it rained but its welsh rain... it doesnt matter :)
"What an amazing place."
The location is stunning, right on the beach front. Our children played on the beach until the evening and we sat in the cottage garden watching them, idyllic. The cottage was comfortable and had everything needed as well as some extras. We felt very lucky to have found Hen Felin Isaf, and I am sure we will be back to visit. Thank you.
"Great location, lovely cottage and hosts."
Whatever the weather this is a fabulous place to spend a holiday. Quiet, peaceful, relaxing with wonderful seascapes.
"The cottage was a delight, comfortable and homely the owners were very nice and nothing was to much trouble, The beach that you can view from the cottage was really 30 seconds away was dog friendly and safe for children."
We are already planning our next holiday there Can't Wait 5 stars from me
"The owners were friendly and left us to do our own thing, would recommend."
The cottage is at the bottom of a very steep hill, the local council bought to much road, so much so they had to bend it (lots) to get it all in. Well equipped, comfy beds, our little dog Alfie enjoyed the beach straight across the road, great walking. After a bit of investigation we found different things to do each day on the island.
"Fabulous cottage in beautiful location."
Owners very friendly and welcoming. We’ve booked again for next year as this was one of my favourite holidays. The road to the cottage from the village was steep but not a problem at all. This was my dog’s first holiday, perfect all round.

Position of cottage, the cottage with everything you would need , James ( the owner) was very accomodating Anglesey is beautiful
"Very welcoming and helpful dog friendly owner."
Good parking for 2 compact/medium cars although access is via a very steep narrow lane.Cottage warm, very clean and well equipped. Direct access to beach and Coastal Path for excellent dog walking (note that some areas of Llandonna beach have seasonal dog restrictions).
"Beautiful location and friendly owner"
"A very special place"
"An absolutely stunning and peaceful location, a quaint cottage right by the sea with the nicest hosts on site."
All batteries recharged after this holiday. We will be visiting again.
"The cottage is in the most idyllic spot however it is definitely not 5 star."
There were only three comfortable chairs in lounge although cottage for 4. No rugs/mats in the cottage. No fuel for the open fire. Nowhere to hang clothes or put cases in one bedroom, very small. No visitors book for comments recommendation other holiday makers. No additional bedding or blankets. No soap and very old towels. Comfortable beds and well equipped kitchen although only 4 of everything so if dishwasher on no plates cups available for use. Definitely not 5* I would say 3*. Definitely trading on position.
"It was a wonderful weekend, location was fantastic couldn't fault it"
"I can honestly say that it was the most relaxing holiday that we have ever had."
The views out to sea from the garden are unreal and the sunset is wonderful. We have already booked again for this July
"We've been going to Hen Felin Isaf ever February since 2013, everything we need from a cottage holiday is right here the peaceful location the beach James and Lesley are great, can't recommend this place enough and can't wait to go back in February 2018, five star plus."
"A beautiful position right next to the sea."
A quiet secluded spot, a lovely spot to spend Christmas. We and the two dogs loved it. Cottage was warm throughout, heating as well as an open fire.
"His is the fifth time we've been to Hen Felin Isaf the cottage is amazing!"
James and Lesley are lovely, already booked for February next year, if you're looking for peace and tranquillity this is definitely the place for you! Myself and my wife and our dog Molly love it here
"Fantastic location, the cottage was extremely well position for the wonderful views of Wharf Bay,peaceful with breathtaking walks with the dogs across the the sands, bear in mind to take plenty of supplies as it is a good 4."
5 miles to the nearest shop with some very narrow lanes to navigate, also the nearest Pub is about 1.5 miles up a very steep twisting single track lane, we didn't go because it was rather daunting the thought of walking up with 2 dogs on leads, but having said that, there was no need to leave the cottage, we had taken enough supplies to see us through the week and the peace was to die for. would with out doubt go again.
"Beautiful location and the owner very helpful."
