"We were really disappointed with our stay at Seren Retreats due to several unresolved issues."
Upon arrival, the lodge was extremely cold, with no functioning heating system other than a single plug-in electric heater. After calling the helpline the following morning, a staff member visited and informed us that the bedroom heater was already known to be broken, but this had not been communicated to us beforehand, and there was no information or advice left in the lodge. We also discovered that the living room heater was not working, meaning there was no proper heating at all, aside from a towel rail in the small bathroom. Temporary electric heaters were provided, but these are not safe to leave on overnight, so the lodge became very cold at night. We were also let down by the facilities. The outdoor hot tub was advertised but was unusable and clearly not maintained; it was filled with brown water. A member of staff advised us not to use it, despite there being no information on the website to say it was closed and no signage on site to indicate it was out of order. The indoor hot tub also had visible mould on the seating and roof. In addition, the sauna and gym were closed, which made the stay feel very different from what was advertised. As there was no alternative accommodation available and no refund, we had no choice but to stay. We contacted Seren Retreats to raise these issues and request a partial refund during our stay, but did not receive a response. Overall, while the location is nice, the lack of heating, unavailable facilities, and poor communication significantly impacted our experience and we would recommend not staying there.

"We love the location."
The chalet / lodge was ideal for my husband, dog and myself. I was a little cold in bed, another blanket would have been great. Loved the hot tub. The view, the trees on the valley floor. This could be our new place to stay, when we come over to north Wales. I love Llanwrst. We always stop on the way over & have done for many years. I’m looking at booking another stay, bring out family & friends over. Simply beautiful.
