Head to mystical Glastonbury where you can take the challenge of a climb to the top of Glastonbury Tor and be rewarded with the exceptional views across the Somerset Levels, or maybe sample some retail therapy at Clark’s shopping village. Golfing parties will love the variety on offer with four 18-hole golf courses within ten miles of the cottages. You’ll certainly return home refreshed after a stay in this wonderful Somerset Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. These charming and comfortable holiday cottages can be enjoyed at any time of the year.

The property

Beautifully renovated, the barn has been skilfully created to provide visitors with a most relaxing holiday experience.

Combined with the beautiful ‘gingerbread’ type barbecue hut situated in the garden, this cottage provides fun and relaxation all year round.

The feature full-length window floods natural light into the open plan spacious living area with exposed beams, and herringbone wooden floor, where you can relax in period lounge chairs and unwind whilst enjoying the views across the adjacent fields.

There are two bedrooms to choose from, a cosy ground floor double, a short tiptoe from the superb shower room, or those who want can ascend the stunning bespoke spiral staircase which leads up to the mezzanine eaves twin bedroom.

Outside there’s a private patio area where you can relax and enjoy refreshment while you plan your day’s activities, or stroll across the shared lawns and say hello to the horses in the adjacent fields.

The barbecue hut is available for daytime or evening barbecues whatever the weather and whatever time of year.

The twin Somerset villages of Gurney Slade and Binegar can be found just four miles north of Shepton Mallet nestling on the eastern edge of the Mendip Hills, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Well served by local inns and a well-stocked village shop and Post Office, the area also abounds in lovely walks which criss-cross the lush countryside. The nearby historic town of Shepton Mallet is a delightful mixture of old and new, with some wonderful old architecture and a weekly market, plus a variety of shops, pubs and eateries. This is a beautiful landscape, with unique places to visit and activities to suit everyone. The Royal Bath and West Showground, just south of Shepton Mallet is the site of one of Britain's major agricultural shows, held here annually in May/June, whilst many other events are staged regularly throughout the year. The area offers a superb touring base with an easy drive to Wells, Glastonbury and Bath, and many family attractions including Cheddar Gorge, Wookey Hole Caves and East Somerset Railway are all also within a 45-minute drive.
