Nestled on the outskirts of Beckley woods, in East Sussex 15 minutes from the historic town of Rye is this charming 16th Century thatched cottage, Partridge Farm.

Benefitting from its rural position, you can enjoy some delightful views across the surrounding countryside and see if you can spot the wild deer of a morning and the owners geese taking a casual stroll through the formal gardens of the house.

Follow the stairs up to the first floor where you will find the master bedroom with king size bed as well as an en suite bathroom and dressing room.

A second twin bedroom can also be found across the small landing with access to a family bathroom.

A separate staircase at the other end of the property leads to another bedroom with a small double bed and private toilet with hand basin.

The local village of Peasmarsh has a small selection of pubs and for those seeking fine dining the newly opened Tillingham Vineyards is within a mile and walking distance for some.

For any last minute shopping, Jempsons supermarket and garage is 3 miles away.

The area is blessed with historic landmarks, National Trust properties, award winning vineyards and beautiful local villages with weekly farmers markets.

The house and gardens at Great Dixter, Sissinghurst Castle, Bodiam Castle, Battle Abbey and Hastings are all a stones throw away.

The historic Kent and East Sussex Railway can be found in the beautiful village of Tenterden which has a huge selection of restaurants and shopping.

For wine lovers and connoisseurs Chapel Down, Biddenden, Gusbourne and Hush Heath Vineyards are all nearby.

You can also explore Rye Harbour Nature Reserve, take a walk on the never ending Camber sands or for the more adventurous, enjoy kite surfing and wake boarding at the watersports centre at Broomhill.

Alternatively take to the skies at Lydd or Headcorn Aerodrome with a pleasure flight, lesson or skydiving.

Literary lovers will delight in visiting the former home of the famous author Henry James at Lamb House in Rye or Derek Jarman’s retreat in Dungeness.

Rye is picture perfect - Its cobbled streets, quaint shops and historic properties have played host to several period dramas and films over the years.

Take a stroll down Mermaid Street which has been classed as one of the most attractive streets in the South East and step back in time.

It also has several restaurants, art galleries as well as rail links to Ashford International station, here you could feasibly go to France or Brussels for the day.

Hastings itself is 25 minutes drive - It has its own 11th century Castle, newly refurbished Pier and even the Blue Reef Aquarium for spotting a range of underwater creatures.
