  • "The flat was very nice and clean."

    It would be a good idea to have a fan in the flat. We also think you should mention the two flights of stairs we were aware of the first flight but not the second. We would stay again.

  • "It took some time to find the property, and access instructions were not clear, which made arrival difficult."

    There were multiple access points and stairs to reach the unit, which may not be suitable for all guests. During the stay, there was some disturbance, including noise at the door and fire alarms sounding on two occasions. Overall, this affected the experience and we would not recommend.

This is very unusual and certainly not the feedback we normally get - we are usually scored very highly. I have tried to phone you on the contact number you gave but can’t get through. I wonder if you would mind giving Sykes another number that I can contact you on so that I may understand further what happened here and make sure it doesn’t happen again? We have a weekly fire alarm test which we have to do for health and safety reasons but I don’t understand why you might have heard it on another occasion, many thanks, Jayne Property Owner

  • "Perfect for a three day stopover in the centre of Kendal."

    All the amenities on your doorstep (including a very handy Tesco Express opposite), clean and comfortable apartment. Countryside walks literally 10 minutes away (on foot) and train station similar distance if you're backpacking. If I had to say anything negative, there were a couple of bulbs that needed changing!

  • "Lovely place to stay in Kendal."

    The property is very clean and modern, right in the centre of the town with plenty of parking available nearby. Brilliant for exploring Kendal lovely walks along the river, and a great base for surrounding areas.

  • "First impressions were good, but sadly that’s where it ended."

    It would be a good idea to wash the bedding and towels in a non-bio, non-perfumed detergent as I spent my entire stay itching as soon as I got into bed, so didn’t sleep during my time there. The bedding also needs changing, when I stripped the bed upon departure as requested, there were many questionable stains on the duvet and mattress protector. The sofa and armchair also need replacing, as they’re old and now uncomfortable. This meant, there was no comfortable place for me to sit or sleep, which was far from ideal. The whole place needed a deep clean e.g. there was still curry split from the last occupant in the microwave and their hair in the bathroom. The flat is on the top floor, up 2 steep flights of stairs, so think about how much you bring with you. The lack of parking and the one way system is also something you should consider. Leave yourself a minimum of half an hour to walk back to your car and navigate this system on the day you’re checking out. Also, although the location is great in the day, who knew at night Kendal “comes to life.” From around 10pm-1am the Tesco Extra opposite becomes the hangout spot and there’s a lot of shouting, so pack earplugs! Also, pack an eye mask as the blinds don’t fit well either. There is no reception, only an emergency contact number. As none of the above constitutes an emergency, I had no one I could contact about these matters. Sadly this was not the restorative trip I’d hoped it would be.

  • "This apartment has an ideal layout and is furnished and decorated to a very high standard."

    The bed is extremely comfortable with quality bedding. The shower with a choice of heads, is powerful and the water hot. We liked the luxurious towels and the Miniml toiletries. Thank you for the treats. When booking, one of the items we requested in the search was parking. “Unallocated parking” is in the list of features on the website and is referred to in 2 reviews. This should read no parking available, Pay and Display car parks very close by, to avoid confusion. The only other point would be a small frying pan and baking tray would have been useful. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend this apartment for anyone wishing to explore Kendal and the surrounding area.

  • "A great central location in Kendal and only a short walk away from the castle ruins."

    The unallocated parking was very close and handy. The apartment was very clean and well appointed. The bathroom was very spacious and I absolutely loved the Miniml shower gel and soap that was provided. A great last minute getaway!!
