"Very comfortable, well equipped cottage, within a short stroll of shops, cafes, and restaurants."
Lovely scenic walks from the door. Enjoyed visiting Barnard Castle and also Locomotion, Shildon. Would recommend Miners Cottage and area to family & friends. Hope to come back.
-
"The cottage is ideally located in the centre of Middleton, with the Co-op general store just a few minutes walk away."
There are many great and varied circular walks starting in Middleton, whilst Barnard Castle and the Bowes museum are just 20 minutes' drive away. The cottage has all the facilities you need for cooking, washing, and relaxing and is warm and comfortable. A great pleasure is the open fire which throws out a good heat in addition to feeling very homely.

"Been several times to Miners Cottage and have booked again for 2022."
Always been clean and welcoming. Comfortable accommodation and an ideal location for exploring County Durham, the Lake District and Northumberland.

"Everything good I didn't need it but perhaps a new Bosch washing machine would be a good investment."

"This is the 3rd time we have used this cottage."
it's always very clean and has everything one might need. The owners are very pleasant and on hand should you need them. We certainly will return to this lovely area

"It was our first self catering experience as hotels are still closed and we were dreading it but we were pleasantly surprised."
The cottage has plenty of character and is recently renovated. It has been cleaned to the high standard. The decor is neutral and tasteful. The bedding is new and of 4*hotel quality. The heating works and temperature is comfortable. The only thing is that windows in the living room and master bedroom do not open for fresh air. It is important during the pandemic to allow air flow so we had to open front door and bathroom windows to allow some air there. The town is beautiful with waterfalls and stunning walks. There are pubs, restaurants where you can eat outside. All accessible by foot. Owner is super friendly and attentive so are the neighbours. We felt welcome everywhere. We would recommend this property.
Many thanks for your feedback. The window has been checked and it does open and we are here to assist any guest if they have any issues during their stay. We are pleased that you enjoyed your stay and thank you again for the lovely feedback Property Owner

"We've been here several times and hope to book again for next year."
We know what to expect. The cottage has always been immaculately clean. Lots of good quality towels and all bedding provided. Clear Covid instructions from Sykes and in the cottage. Very happy with Miner's Cottage. Middleton in Teesdale has a very good Co-op food store, as well as eateries and local shops. Excellent Sunday lunch at The Teesdale Hotel. Easy car parking front or rear of cottage. Lots of places to visit in County Durham, Northumberland and Cumbria, all easy to drive to on scenic roads. Lots of local walks too.

We rely so much on this for planning our stay anywhere. Saying that, the place it's self was faultless.
