"Pensarn Hall is one of the best equipped and comfortable "cottage" we have stayed in."
We will be returning.
Thank you !! if I was to have a little whinge it could be the entry and leaving times ... unfortunately I haven't an answer ..but we would have liked to be there as long as possible xx
"It is an amazing property with all facilities."
The property pictures doesn't do justice to the lovely setup and facilities in the property. We had great time and enjoyed every second while we were there
"Lovely victorian property in a beautiful location with amazing views of the sunset."
"Fantastic house for a large family (4 families)."
We went here for a 75th birthday. All age groups thoroughly enjoyed themselves. Kids played mostly in the gardens which are quite extensive. Views over the estuary are stunning and the views around the house are of the Welsh hills!! My only criticism is we cannot get everyone together for a longer vacation....
"Pensarn Hall is a beautiful old house, and is extremely well equipped."
What a treat to be able to use Portmeirion pottery every day! The house was an ideal space for grandparents, children and grandchildren to stay and celebrate a Ruby Wedding anniversary. Local walking was great, the harbour to the beach, the back lanes to Llanbedr and the local farm park kept us all occupied. We were blessed with good weather, but this house is ideal whatever the weather. I'd recommend it in a heartbeat.
"Wonderful location for sandy beaches and castles."
The snooker table in the house was a great success as was Zip World. Highly recommend.
"The property was very clean and had all the amenities you wish."
The kids enjoyed the house , grounds, location etc etc exceptional nice land lady and house keeper , low pressure water on the showers and that's because it comes straight from the mountains, hopping to come back next year !!
"Fantastic holiday, warm cosy and beautifully decorated within keeping with its age."
Absolutely spotless everywhere and an abundance of kitchen equipment and serving dishes for more than the 14 of us that went. Caroline is lovely and a pleasure to talk to on prior to our arrival. We will be coming back, my children have had many a tear leaving this gorgeous home. Thank you very much Alex
"Wonderful house set in a great location overlooking the coast roughly mid-way between Harlech and Barmouth."
House was extremely comfortable with plenty of facilities and a great range of rooms to fit all types/sizes of party. Very friendly and helpful owners. Highly recommended.
"This house is a one off."
the size was ideal for a large family gathering . Caroline the owner was very helpful a good time was had by all.
"Welcome pack on arrival, cleanliness was impeccable."
Only thing missing is comfortable outdoor seating.
"This was our second visit and even more enjoyable as the weather was so much better."
Our party comprised thirteen people aged from 8 to ninety_two and everyone was comfortable. We can't wait to come back.
Wonderfully kept. We all enjoyed living like lords for a week(even if we did have to do the catering). Weather not good enough to enjoy the outdoor facilities but snooker table was a hit. Very easy to get out and about and the local slate mine and children’s zoo were a good introduction to the area. Their cafe was also a winner. Only thing to mention - no ice cream scoop!! So obvious how great it was. Would return again if opportunity arose. Congratulations to all involved
"A well located property convenient for mountains and beach."
It was well equipped, clean and welcoming, perfect for a large group such as ourselves. We have already agreed that we will visit again next year.
"Pensarn Hall is spacious, well heated, well equipped and well located for many interesting and scenic locations ."
Wi-fi connectivity throughout the house is very good. The owners and local caretaker are all friendly and extremely willing to assist with any issues that may arise.
"Pensarn is a perfect setting for large families wishing to explore the beautiful Gwynedd coast."
The accommodation had everything a large group needed and catering for everybody’s needs was easy. The house was grand but in such a way that it was possible to relax and feel at home. We will definitely be back.
"The location and accommodation were excellent."
The kitchen was very well equipped, especially for large family gatherings. Will certainly consider it again in the future
"Super house can't be faulted"
"Lovely house in a perfect location, ideally suited to a group of friends holidaying together."
En suite facilities were excellent, as was the kitchen and liv8ng space, and any slight problem dealt with very quickly. We had a wonderful time.
"Perfect location for a large group holiday."
"Pensarn Hall was spacious and impressive."
We loved having the seven en-suite bedrooms, the snooker table and the lovely garden. We would love to have known about the history of the Hall and wonder if the owners have thought about leaving some information for guests to read - we are sure others would be fascinated to hear about it. Thank you to Sykes and Caroline of Pensarn Hall for giving us the opportunity to enjoy it.
"You were helpful in the end when my previous booking was taken away from us on 3rd December, and had nowhere to take 11 people for Christmas at the very last minute, BUT Pensarn Hall was perfect and fitted us all excellently, and was nice and spacious."
"As a large group of friends who like to meet up at a big cottage every year, Pensarn Hall met all our criteria."
The hall is well-equipped for a large group of adults to sleep, cook and have fun. The location is excellent and, despite some rain, we managed a lovely walk up Rhinog Fawr and a fantastic trip to the beautiful beach at Harlech, complete with a swim in the sea. Caroline was very helpful and thoughtful, providing milk, tea and biscuits that were very welcome. Overall a lovely holiday!
"We had 4 children with us, the very large garden was a god send, they could play out without having to keep checking on them."
The view was amazing, and we were blown away with all the kitchen equipment and how many different dishes, glasses and other items, the large table/snooker table came in very handy. We could not have wanted for more.
"An excellent house with something for all ages."
We were three generations baby to pensioner. Very clean, comfortable and well equipped. Plenty to do locally ranging from sandy beaches to Snowdonia. Local all weather venues enjoyed by our four under 5's were Harlech swimming pool and Llanfair Play barn. Pensarn station is at the bottom of the drive so unlike many remote properties it is possible to arrive by train. Also it provides an alternative for travel up and down the Welsh coast.
"The property was excellent for a large family group of mixed ages as there are a number of living rooms and a large dining room ensuring everyone could eat together comfortably."
The only comments are that there are probably not enough mugs for a full house of people and there are not enough sharp knives, hardly any at all in fact, we were always scrabbling around trying to find the 1 small vegetable knife. All the other facilities were excellent as was the location close to the beach and walking areas.
"A wonderful place in wonderful surroundings."
"Great facilities - kitchen had everything you needed and more best equipped kitchen we have had on our holidays now into our 4th of holidaying as a group."
Quality bed linen and very comfortable beds. Bedrooms a great size. 5 minute walk to Pensarn railway station which was a bonus - leaving the car at home and able to get to many places along the coast. Highly recommended

Pensarn Hall is a superb, imposing, Victorian property, located in Llanbedr, set in private gardens, in the Snowdonia National Park, with easy access to the beaches of the North Wales coast.
The location of this Llanbedr holiday home is truly idyllic; slightly elevated, this wonderful large house benefits from views across the valley, down to the Artro River estuary, Pensarn Harbour and coast, all less than 10 minutes' walk away.
This Llanbedr cottage offers seven large bedrooms, all with en-suite facilities, making it ideal for friends and families alike.
There is a spacious drawing room with woodburner, which is ideal to relax and socialise in, while the stately dining room is able to seat 16 guests comfortably for dinner, and with an open fire, it is cosy and homely.
After dinner, the dining table can be converted into a ¾ size Victorian slate bed snooker table for some friendly, family fun, or alternatively, you could retire through to the library with its woodburner, or relax in the conservatory, which overlooks the gardens.
Pensarn Hall retains many original features, such as a wood-panelled, Minton tiled hallway, the original servant bells, architraves, cornices, sash windows with lead lights, and even a Victorian decorated Thunderbox toilet!
Outside, the grounds are extensive, offering secret gardens, a games lawn with croquet and numerous shaded seating areas in which to relax and enjoy the beautiful countryside, maybe you'll even see a steam train running between Barmouth and Harlech on the local line.
This Llanbedr cottage is a fantastic property to escape from daily life and step back in time, relaxing with friends and family for the perfect memorable holiday.
About the location
Harlech 3 miles; Barmouth 8 miles.
The pretty village of Llanbedr quietly nestles in ancient woodland between The Rhinogs, part of the Snowdonia Mountains, and the stunning golden beaches of the North Wales coastline. Situated next to the beautiful River Artro, and boasting a mild climate due to its unusual positioning behind the high dunes of a nature reserve, this charming village has an exciting array of wildlife and birds, handy local shops, bike hire and mountain walks on your doorstep, as well as two excellent pubs. The small town of Harlech is just 3 miles away and boasts the World Heritage Site of Harlech Castle, a majestic 13th century stronghold, the most impressive of all those built in North Wales by Edward I. Popular with golfers due to its famous Royal St. David's course, Harlech also boasts an excellent variety of amenities including some good quality restaurants and the most magnificent six-mile long sandy beach, perfect for wonderful walks and family fun. Nearby Barmouth offers the amazing Panorama Walk along the beautiful Mawddach Estuary, providing breathtaking vistas, which were described by John Ruskin as “the most sublime view in Europe” and also a harbour from which you can catch a ferry to Fairbourne for a ride on the miniature railway, or a boat trip out to sea to try mackerel fishing. With the delights of Snowdonia National Park and beautiful Cardigan Bay to discover, this is a fantastic holiday location at any time of the year.
