  • "Cottage was very clean and we were well looked after by a superb host Debbie who could not do enough for us."

Cottage in a great location in a lovely village of Cullen, with local pubs, chinese take away, chippy, well stocked co-op and second hand shops galore. The cottage was very spacious for extended family and friends. The property has a lovely rear garden enclosed garden, close to neighbours but plenty of privacy. Gates around property meant your dog was 100% secure (field just opposite for quick walks) Superb out door Pool table situated in outbuilding (big hit with us all) via separate entrance to the front door (just needs some heating as very cold and unusable without heating). This was resolved by Debbie with portable heater. Lovely large dining kitchen, (very well equipped) large double fridge and freezer, small snug with settee and second tv off the hall way. The road noise is very loud as the cottage is situated on a very busy main road and the double glazing is old and tired and in need of upgrade and or internal glazing as sleeping is hard with HGVS hurtling past all night long. House is lovely and warm as a good heating system. The bedrooms are simple/basic over 3 floors buts some are lacking mirrors, The property is need of some tlc from broken blinds to cracked floor tiles, Damp on the walls in main bathroom - its ready for some investment as tired in places. Overall a very good setup for a large group. Again must credit the manager/housekeeper who worked hard to make sure your stay was a good one.

Thank you for your feedback. This helps us improve and get better. Unfortunately straight after your stay we made most of the improvements and renovations that you had pointed out. Due to the fact that we have been fully booked all peak season, this was the first chance we have had to book a week off for maintenance. I am just very sorry you came before it happened instead of after. Bad timing! The outdoor games annex is not heated due to choice; we do however encourage guests to start their own fire in the designated open fire area with chimney. All bathrooms have been completely renovated and new blinds have been installed throughout. I would love to welcome you and your family back to show you the small issues that you thought could be improved upon having been resolved. Thanks again for your feedback! Property Owner

Bearing in mind we were a not at full capacity the only improvement would be a better electric hob as this one was old and inefficient for cooking. ?? Another toilet However property well kept nice place we enjoyed our stay would recommend.

Thank you for your feedback, it’s how we improve. I am glad to report that we have now upgraded to a 5 ring Samsung gas hob. We look forward to welcoming you back soon! Property Owner

A log fire kept us cosy while we had great fun playing pool. We also had a wonderful BBQ in the very private outside space.

  • "We had a lovely family holiday at Seafield Steeet."

We have stayed here twice and found it a welcoming and comfortable house. The housekeeper Debbie was very helpful. Cullen has wonderful walks and a stunning beach. There is plenty to do in the surrounding area. We particularly enjoyed the North East Falconry centre near Huntly and looking through the various antique and junk shops in Cullen itself.

  • "This was an amazing house to stay in."

The housekeeper cleaned the house to a very high standard and was really helpful throughout the week. The house was stocked with everything you could possibly need and then some! It was such a lovely big house, we had space to relax even with 12 people staying. The games room is a great extra and the outside space is lovely. Cullen is a beautiful place with a gorgeous harbour. The Royal Oak provided a delicious meal and the fish and chips from Linda’s were excellent. We would love to stay again if the occasion arises.

  • "We had a lovely holiday in this house."

It was very clean and very well equipped. The only downsides were only two toilets but we managed and knew that before we went. The other was the noise of the traffic during the night being on a main road. . It kept those in the bedrooms facing the main road awake at night. The listing in Sykes is out of date. There is now a lovely courtyard in the annexe. A real bonus. All in all a great house in a great location.

  • "Very pleased with everything about our stay."

Owner was accessible, house was clean and spacious. Another toilet wouldn't have gone amiss and the freezers needed defrosting but everything else was perfect. New outside area was ace especially because we had 2 wee dogs with us. Big boys enjoyed the pool room and was a good space to store the drink we had with us for Christmas. The small extra living area was fantastic. We had a lovely time.

On arrival we found a bottle of bubbly to help us celebrate. From initial booking to the end of holiday we were kept updated regarding holiday and Sykes couldn't have been more helpful throughout. Everything from cots and high chairs to entertainment equipment was provided. We have never stayed somewhere better equipped throughout the house.

.the welcome pack was a lovely touch and most welcome after the long drive..the kids loved the games room and there was ample space for every one..12 of us...only wee downside was the lack of a 3rd toilet and the stairs to the top floor were abit scary to navigate..but didnt put a dampner on our stay and would definatly return to such a lovely house in a beautiful location.

Excellent support from Debbie the Housekeeper before and during our visit. A problem with the washing machine was quickly addressed and repaired. The welcome pack is very generous and was great appreciated. The house is spacious and well equipped - the only piece of equipment that we missed from last year was a cafetière. A great house for family holidays in a beautiful part of Scotland. I strongly recommend this property.

  • "A superb location being so very close to the beach (it really is just a 5 min walk) and it is a fantastic beach to keep kids entertained as is sandy, but also rock pools and good pebbly area too - plus is very quiet even on a hot summers day as it’s so remote up there!"

Hours of entertainment there alone. (Bonus is the golf house on the beach, as has toilets and Sells drinks and food too). Great places to visit nearby - strathisla distillery in Keith was amazing for grown ups, Baxter’s in focahabers, Boyndie visitor centre (lovely food there - best Cullen Skink we had), Fyvie Castle (especially wonderful day there), Cullen Auld Kirk and a lovely walk up to the watchtower ruin overlooking Cullen bay. Fantastic ice cream shop in Cullen, best fish and chips were Portknockie. The house itself works well for so many people (6 adults and 6 children). Wish there were 3 toilets as I had thought (3rd bathroom is shower room only, no toilet on 2nd floor) but just 2 was an issue at times. House clean and The housekeeper and her mum and the owner were very helpful plus nice welcome pack on arrival. Shame the garden is inaccessible, as would have been good for the kids. A great week had by all though as Cullen is just so very lovely and we had great weather. Would love to stay again.

About the location

CULLEN

Elgin 21 miles.

The Moray coastal town of Cullen is situated on Cullen Bay, an inlet of the Moray Firth, and is an extremely attractive town, originally built around the mouth of the Burn of Deskford. Modern Cullen comprises the delightful fishing village of Seatown and an ‘inland’ area, which stretches up an imposing main street from Seatown, underneath a spectacular viaduct. Although the wealth of Cullen was built on textiles in the 18th century, the town is best known for its fishing heritage, its name being given to a rich, creamy haddock soup known as Cullen Skink. Visitors can enjoy Cullen’s lovely sandy beach, the famous Ice Cream Shop, regarded by many as Scotland’s best ice cream parlour, a fine selection of shops and restaurants, and the historic city of Elgin is within driving distance.
