"This holiday home was lovely and very spacious, we had a fantastic time."
The kitchen is well equipped, plenty of seating for everyone, and lots of space. We loved the location as it was quiet but there was lots to do nearby. Would recommend the cairngorm Alpaca’s and the folk museum. Not far from Aviemore where there is plenty to do. Was lovely to see deer and birds out the back, would have loved to stay for longer and will definitely be back.
-
"Great property, location close to town, shops, petrol station and pub (Glen Hotel)."
Used as a base for touring and walking. Take a torch if you're walking back from the pub after dark. Well equipped. The only critique we had was the two downstairs bedrooms felt cool compared to the rest of the house. The underfloor heating downstairs is preprogrammed. We did have widely changing weather this week going from 26 to 7 degrees. Don't let this put you off, it's a great property in a great part of Scotland.. I am sure the programme can be changed.
-
"House was exceptional, the standard of the accommodation was brilliant."
It was lovely to be in a house where that is the case and where the photographs actually match the house that you turn up to!
-
"We have just returned from a very pleasant holiday staying at An Torr."
The house is very well furnished and the kitchen is very well equipped. The location is nice and private, but well situated for a lot of places that are worth a visit. We would happily recommend the property to others.
-
"Fabulous property, exactly as described, only better."
-
"Very spacious accommodation with views to open country."
Ideal for a large family. Property was super clean and very well-equipped. Plenty of space to dry out waterproofs & walking boots in porch & utility. Newtonmore is a lovely base, we enjoyed exploring the village and searching for the wildcat models. Cafés and good-sized co-op in walking distance. Delicious fish supper from Joe's chip shop in Kingussie, short drive away.
-
"The house was very large and cosy very well equipped, underfloor heating kept the house nice and warm."
Village was a few minutes walk away with nice pub and co-op store. Would thoroughly recommend it
-
"9 of us had a brilliant stay for 3 nights due to a 70th birthday and all of us were very impressed by An Torr."
We loved the house itself and the location. An Torr was deceptively spacious and was well equipped for every day living.
-
"3 families stayed at An Torr and we loved the spacious house, comfortable beds, huge kitchen and very useful utility room."
It was central to all the places we'd planned to visit - deer feeding, horse riding, Aviemore, Loch Insh, Inverness, zip wiring and Landmark, the 'parallel roads of Laggan' and the Highland Folk Museum in Newtonmore. Didn't have time to swim at the pool in the local hotel. Everyone was catered for. Lovely holiday.
-
"Property location was great giving easy access to many activities."
Easy to get into with ample parking. In general property was well maintained apart from some appliances,BBQs, irons, boards and dinning table (quiet sticky) nice place to spend time with family.
-
"Very central location for access to a number of facilities between Carrbridge and Newtonmore, so plenty to do and see, for all the family."
The house itself was very spacious, more than the advertising photos would suggest.
-
"We had a lovely stay in An Torr."
The house is amazing. Beautiful setting with a big sunny garden. The kitchen had everything you would need to cook and bake. Newtonmore itself is a great base and we did lots of walking. And no midges. I would definitely stay there again.
-
"We loved our stay here, so peaceful with lovely views."
We enjoyed watching the deer and rabbits in the neighbouring field. The house is lovely, spacious comfortable and very well equipped. Ample room for parking several cars. When travelling to Aviemore it’s well worth travelling on the B9152 rather than the A9 for some beautiful scenery. The only minor negative for the house is that the windows internally and external need cleaning with a squeegee blade, as they were very smeary and detracted from the views We would definitely want to visit again.
-
"6 adults and 5 children spent a fab week at An Torr - plenty of room for us all to do our own thing."
Outside space excellent for kids to enjoy. House was very well equipped with excellent kitchen. House in great location for local amenities and within easy reach of the surrounding places of interest - Newtonmore Highland Folk Museum, Cairngorm Ski Centre, Mountain Railway and Tubing - kids loved it all and staff were so helpful. We all enjoyed a trip on the Strathspey Steam Railway and Afternoon Tea was a treat - staff very welcoming. Would certainly recommend An Torr as a great holiday house. Thank you to the owner for our stay. Margaret.
-
"This is a great location and house for larger groups and I think it will become our default choice for our annual trips now."
It is well equipped, warm and comfy. Great to have access to a garage to store bikes and skis, and a drying room for after rainy days. The piano could do with a tune though!
-
"An Torr is a beautiful house!"
Extremely clean and well appointed with everything you need to have a great stay. The beds are super comfy! We had a wonderful week and would definitely recommend this gorgeous house to everyone. Hope to return sometime!
-
"The property was extremely comfortable, very cosy with a good heating system and loads of hot water available for baths."
It was well equipped with crockery and cutlery, loads of storage in the kitchen and around the house. A brilliant big washing machine made dealing with the children's clothes, an easy task. Great garden space for the kids to play outside. The owners were also very helpful and flexible.
-
"We had a great week, suited our party really well as it was ideal for families."
The only problem was we found a 9.30am check out very tight, even 10am would have been easier.
-
"This was a very comfortable and roomy cottage that filled our groups needs perfectly."
The kitchen was well equipped and everything easy to use. We would definitely use it again
-
"An Torr is a fantastic house with lots of room for the eleven of us which were staying at it."
It is very clean. Beds are very comfy and bedding and ample towels are provided. It is in a fantastic location and it has a big garden and drive. The Wildcat Experience is a great activity to do around Newtonmore for both kids and adults! The Folk Museum is well worth a visit too. Would definitely return to An Torr!
-
"Very happy with house contents and general facilities."
Good garden grounds in quiet country surroundings and great views. Only complaint was that there were no games, dvd or books as advertised.
-
"Stayed here with 8 friends on a walking holiday and it was absolutely perfect."
A beautiful property situated in an equally beautiful area. Really well equipped with anything and everything you could need and close to loads of amenities, landmarks and adventure! The owner of the property is superb. Had a few questions and he was more than happy to help out. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for accommodation in the area.
-
"A very well equiped home, very suitable for our needs."
We had very good weather and did a lot of hiking in the superb surroundings. Both house and area are very much recommended.
-
"Lovely property with good facilities."
We really enjoyed our stay.
-
"An Torr is an excellent holiday home."
It is really spacious and very well equipped. The rooms are all extremely large and very comfortable. The house was absolutely spotless and despite the removal of some soft furnishings, this did not detract from overall comfort of the accommodation. The gardens were extensive and well maintained. Couldn’t fault the house in any way and would recommend a stay here.
-
"Cotrage was absolutely beautiful couldn't fault it ."
The area is gorgeous as well lots to do and it helped that we had lovely weather. Would highly recommend. Just a heads up though there's no hair dryer so just pack your own
-
"A spacious, clean property in an excellent location for village and mountain access."
Beds very comfortable and good dining and relaxing areas. Kitchen had lots of crockery and utensils but many mugs and glasses very old. BBQ was not clean and garden furniture old and dirty on arrival. Garden scruffy and in need of attention.
-
"Superb property for a family holiday."
We'll equipped and spacious
-
"Fantastic walks"
-
"Fantastic house, very roomy and in a quiet location."
Well equipped kitchen and lovely garden to sit in. We had a great week there and explored the area well. Very close to highland folk museum and the Wildlife Park. It’s also just a short drive to Laggan bike trax for those that like mountain biking too.
-
"This house is fantastic."
Four generations of my family went to celebrate my husband's birthday and we all had a fabulous time. Plenty room on the house for everyone, so well equipped and very comfortable. Ideally located to visit many of the region's attractions.
-
"Excelled house, perfect for our two families."
Really well equipped house, clean, cosy but spacious. Perfect setting with views to die for. Deer and red squirrel moseying around the back!! The listing online says no parking this must be an error as there’s ample parking space. Highly recommended would definitely go again, I imagine it’s just as beautiful in the summer!!
-
"We all loved the amount of space and facilities in the property."
We had 4 children with us from aged 2 up to 10 and they loved the space to play inside and outside.
-
"The cottage was enormous and really well equipped."
The extra little touches like soap in all the bathrooms and washing up liquid were really appreciated.
-
"I found this house to be perfect for my visit to Scotland and it was in close proximity to all amenities and shops"
-
"An Torr was a very comfortable and cosy holiday house."
There was lots of space and the beds were very comfortable. Kitchen was well equipped and very sociable for the cooks. There are loads of walks in the local area. We would love to come and stay again the future - it would be lovely in the winter. Just a few things that could be improved - The blue recycling bin was full upon our arrival so we had to bag our recycling for the week. A second blue bin would solve that issue. The garden furniture was looking a bit tired and the floor sweeper downstairs needed a new head. We had a great holiday, thank you so much!!
-
"It was great, a lovely roomy house particularly well equipped for cooking."
-
"Wonderfully comfortable house had everything and more in a rental property"
-
"Beautiful spacious house, very comfortable"
-
"Great place to stay and a lovey little village within walking distance, would highly recommend"
-
"An Torr is in a fantastic location."
The Glen hotel is easily walkable for a night cap and though the shop is further away it's a flat walk and very pleasant. Loads to do in the local area. We were 2 families with 2, 6 and 7 year old children and they had a ball. Feeding the reindeer was magical and Loch Morlich was so beautiful. On rainy days there are a couple of soft plays within easy driving distance but we were lucky so were outside most of the time. The Balavil hotel has a small indoor swimming pool which was great fun but it does get really busy so go early evening to avoid the hoards! The Highland Folk museum is huge and we went twice, and the Highland Wildlife park was a lovely jaunt too. The Landmark Centre in Carrbrige was a huge hit. Pricey to get in but it really is a whole day affair so that makes it worth the money. The house itself was tremendously well equipped; warm, cosy and really relaxing after a day out. The only downside was the downstairs twin bedroom was noisy if people moving about or having a shower upstairs.

"This holiday home was amazing !"
The area was absolutely stunning, there was plenty to do and places to visit my family and I thoroughly enjoyed it. My grandchildren loved the wildlife right on the doorstep. I would recommend this place to anyone and we would definitely go back again.
-
"This place is fantastic it’s comfortable and has everything you will need for your holidays."
We have stayed 3 times now and it feels like going home every time we arrive. Sitting in the garden is a wee sun trap and you can catch the last of the sun of the day on the balcony. We can’t wait to go back next year
-
"We had a great stay at An Torr with extended family."
The property is furnished beautifully and is well equipped. Plenty to do in Newtonmore and it’s a great base to explore the wider area. Would definitely recommend.

It was perfect for a Christmas family gathering. Plenty of space for all the family. It was very well equipped and met all our needs. It really was a home from home.
-
"We stayed here to attend our nephews wedding in Glentruim."
It was a perfect house for 9 of us to stay comfortably for the weekend. The kitchen was extremely well equipped and cooking a roast dinner on Sunday was easy. The bedrooms were well laid out and the beds very comfortable. We would definitely return to this area and this house in particular.
-
