  • "Absolutely beautiful holiday home with everything you could need, lovely attention to detail."

We had two toddlers with us who were delighted to find biscuits on our arrival. Really nice to have basic goods provided, parking was easy, walking distance of two pubs. I would definitely recommend staying at this comfortable home!

Good sized and well equipped kitchen, comfy bed and nice hot shower over the bath. Earsdon is a quiet village with plenty of walks on the doorstep and the coast a short drive away.

Just be aware that the steps up to the cottage gate are quite steep with no hand rail and you will need a torch at night for the steps .

  • "After travelling from Inverness to my native NE several times a year for the last 19 years to visit family and friends, we have stayed at dozens of holiday lets, but this is our favourite and the best by far."

Communication with the owner prior and throughout was excellent. So friendly and polite. Earsdon is a lovely little country village and perfectly based for visiting the coast. Having the best of both worlds was especially wonderful as we could take our little dog, who was spoiled for walks. We booked the cottage for 2 weeks over Christmas and it was lush walking in to see it decked out with a gorgeous tree, a garland running up the stair, a wreath and cute little decorations. All very tasteful and in keeping with the stunning decor. It smelled/smelt (never know which it is!) gorgeous too. It was immaculate, and so warm and cosy. This meant so much to me as we’ve walked into some places rated 4&5 star and they’ve been filthy and run down! They left a very impressive festive hamper on the table for us which was so thoughtful and kind. Got tucked into the cheesy crackers straight away. Such a warm welcome. The kitchen is so well kitted out. It even has a crock pot, which we used once to do a curry. We ate out mostly though as there are such nice places to eat nearby (the beehive along the road and 1910 at the Spanish city). I can’t even tell you how great it was to have a tumble dryer! God send. All high end appliances. Lovely comfy beds. So quiet at night! I can’t recommend this gorgeous little cottage enough. Will defo be booking again, delightful. Thank you so much to the wonderful hosts, it would be nice to meet you guys one day! X

The cottage is well equipped and tastefully furnished. The location was ideal for us and it's around a 15 minute walk from Shiremoor Metro station. There is a friendly pub within walking distance called The Cannon Inn that serves food, which we recommend. The Waggonways can be accessed from the village and are ideal for walks/cycle rides. We will definitely return in the near future.

Set in a gorgeously peaceful village but only 10 mins from the coast and 20 mins from the city. Countryside walks from the cottage with the dog every morning. We will definitely be back! The only constructive feedback to make it perfect would be to consider some curtains in the main bedroom - blinds are provided of course, but they didn’t do a great job of keeping the light out. Otherwise 10/10! Thank you.

Inside and out the cottage has been decorated and furnished to a high standard. My only niggle would be the front room is not set up for four guests to sit comfortably. But for myself, my partner and my baby it was perfect and couldn’t of asked for anything more. Great communication from both Owner and Sykes. Thank you!!

Hi Jack Thank you for your feedback. We are really pleased that you enjoyed the cottage. I can confirm that the sofa is an 3 seater and there is also a chair and a stool to accommodate 4 guests. Thanks again Property Owner

The cottage was in an ideal location & perfect for what we needed. It is well equiped with everything you require for a lovely relaxing stay & the beds were so comfy too. The Red Lion & The Cannon pubs are in the village of Earsdon & offer a lovely selection of food & drinks & we enjoyed a take-away from The Cannon on our last night. Shiremoor & Monkseaton Metro Stations are only 15-20 min walk & ideal for traveling along the beautiful coastline & up to Newcastle. We walked with our 2 dogs to Tynemouth & back via Whitley Bay & Cullercoats & stopped off for coffee & cake along the way. Tynemouth Market, which is held at Tynemouth Station on Saturdays & Sundays is well worth a visit. I would definitely recommend Taylor's Cottage & we hope to come back to visit again soon.

As before, it was very clean, well presented, comfortable and well-equipped - the kitchen/diner and main bedroom, in particular, are spacious and attractive. The hosts provide a useful range of essentials and are helpful and welcoming but not intrusive. Earsden is a pleasant village. We found it ideal for visiting relatives nearby, but it is easy to get to Newcastle, Whitley Bay and the Northumberland countryside.

The kitchen is particularly pleasant, with everything you need provided, even a garlic press and weighing scales (often not provided in other places we’ve stayed). The care and thought that’s gone into the cottage is very evident, and much appreciated. The location is great, too, with easy access to beaches and supermarkets, as well as Newcastle itself. Our only minor complaint is that the internet isn’t reliable, with frequent buffering when accessing Netflix, for example. However, we shall definitely be booking again, as we loved staying here! A little gem of a cottage.

Hi Thank you for your kind comments. I’m really sorry that you had an issue with the internet/Netflix. If we had known we could have quickly resolved this for you. The issue has now been resolved. Thanks again and hope to see you in the future. Peter & Amanda Property Owner

Blue skies in such a beautiful village. The cottage was really comfortable and the welcome we received was so nice with complimentary items provided by the very friendly and helpful hosts. The kitchen is a joy. The beds very comfortable. Whilst the second room does sleep two, it might be a bit of a squash for two adults but would be perfect for two children sharing a large bed. The main bedroom is lovely. There were three of us and it was perfect. There were so many things to do in the area, including a trip to the Farne Islands to see the Puffins and the coastline from Tynemouth to Seaton Sluice is stunning. This is the perfect location. Parking isn't a problem and a local pub provides great value Sunday lunches. For a trip to the North East, this cottage is a must.

We stayed for a month as we needed a temporary base close to family and Northumberland to relax, having just moved back from Europe, and couldn’t have picked a more welcoming place. Check in was super easy, contact free and the owner made sure everything was provided upon arrival. The kitchen was a dream, well equipped, the interiors were extremely tasteful, it was warm, very clean and the bedroom was so comfortable with plenty of wardrobe space. There are plenty of good walks around the area, really nice pubs close-by, groceries can easily be delivered if needed, it is close to Newcastle centre and everything is within reach. It’s rare to stay somewhere that feels like a home, but Taylor’s Cottage did. Every detail seems to have been thought of to make your stay hassle-free. I wonder if you could do us a favour... Do you have an email address for the landlord? We wanted to ask them where they got their bedding, because it was so comfortable. Thanks. In advance!

Thank you for taking the time to review your stay, 22A Taylors cottage as with a lot of Sykes properties costs the same for a short break or a weekly stay, when booking next time it may be beneficial to book the full week it is is available, even if you cannot fulfill the full booking it could mean you could benefit from an early check in or late check out depending on arrival and departure days.
