The cottage is found down a long bumpy track so you really are in the middle of the countryside and all the bonuses that come - owls, bats, nesting housemartins and fledglings being fed on top of our car was a delight and gorgeous views and sunsets. The surrounding areas really are beautiful and we only just scraped the surface during our week so another trip is being planned! Local shopping in Morpeth (about 10 miles away) is great - everything you need including the supermarkets. Lindisfarne was lovely but too busy but the quieter places such as Bamburgh, Dunstanburgh, Cresswell and Newton by the sea are fab!
