"We were very happy with all aspects of our stay at Maple Cottage."

The fine weather really helped and the local area has so much to discover. The only small complain is that our double bed was not as comfy, and solid, as other hotels we've previously stayed at. Otherwise we loved it and would definitely return.

"Beautiful little lodges perfectly placed for fabulous views , tranquil setting , great for dogs too ."

Very welcoming and well looked after , easy parking and 10 min drive to lots of places and ideal away break venue . Made a nice change . Also a hot tub and I imagine it would be fabulous in summer . Lovely outdoor area . Shower room hard to keep dry I think over time this will be an issue . Limited cooking items for us we like to make our own food , no casserole pot ,no tea pot . No recycling ? Very satisfied overall

    "Beautiful relaxing retreat."

It was everything we needed to enjoy our 10th wedding anniversary. Maple lodge was as advertised. Clean and well maintained. Although there had been rain recently we enjoyed walking with our dog around the lake. We went to the Cricketts Inn for lunch half way through our stay. A dog friendly pub run by some very nice people and the food was great. Even catered for vegans like myself. They kindly gave my dog some treats and a bowl of water. We spent a day at Calke Abbey between the odd shower. We walked for miles. The hot tub was a must to relax our aching bones after that. So happy to have found this gem. We will be back again in the not too distant future.

"Lovely cottage and location with charming views."

Well equipped but crockery a bit limited, in particular no large bowls (salad bowls, mixing bowls). No info about recycling provided and apparently no recycling bins (we took our recycling home with us, which was no problem).
