  • "Lovely welcome on arrival by Ruth."

Beautiful clean cottage. Loved the little extras milk tea coffee flowers fruit and a nice bottle of wine. Ruth is a lovely lady and her husband they couldn’t do any more to make us so welcome. Jerry the cat pop’s in to you and makes herself at home. Sitting on the decking each morning with a nice pot of tea watching the cows. So peaceful. Xx

  • "We had a fabulous week’s stay at Fletchers Barn."

Fletchers Barn is full of charm and character and you will be assured of a warm welcome from Ruth (along with complimentary wine, milk, fruit and flowers). This barn is extremely well equipped making self catering a breeze. Everything has been thought of! Extremely comfortable beds, a cozy log fire (which we enjoyed even though it was May) and a games room for our teens to enjoy darts and pool. Numerous maps and guides are also supplied to help you explore this delightful park of Derbyshire. We enjoyed several walks, including Middleton Top but most of our time was spent catching up with our family who live close by. Thank you again to Ruth for the opportunity to stay at Fletchers Barn. We will return.

  • "Excellent accommodation in a lovely location."

Ruth, the owner, could not have been more welcoming or helpful. The extra touches of fruit bowl, wine and flowers were thoughtful and much appreciated. As the weather was good we enjoyed being able to use two outside seating areas. The accommodation was spacious, beds very comfortable, kitchen well equipped and lounge pleasant and a nice wet room with a really good shower. Cannot recommend it highly enough.

Fletchers Barn is a very cosy, quiet, comfortable and clean base from which to enjoy the local attractions, the majority of which are within easy reach. Tastefully converted to a holiday home, the barn is equipped with everything you could need for a break and the owner, Ruth, is ready to advise on places to go. We look forward to our next trip to Wiggonlea Farm.

  • "A gem of a find for a half-term break away, we were really struggling to find somewhere but this place is lovely!"

It had farm animals to keep the little one entertained, and Ruth was so kind in letting us feed the goats. The beds were super comfortable and it's in a great location for pubs, country walks and some relaxation. (Only suggestion for the woodburner would be a fan to distribute the heat- as compared to our one at home, it didn't chuck out as much heat due to this- but a tiny thing and did not affect our stay!).

  • "Despite the weather being dire, it was just what the doctor ordered."

Comfortable and well-equipped. Ruth was very friendly and welcoming. Fruit, milk and wine left for us on arrival. In some self catering places you have to take your own tea towels and toilet rolls, not here. Plenty are supplied. The log burner made it like home from home. We had no problem turning the heating on or off according to the temperature. I didn't even miss having a dishwasher as we ate ready meals every night! Take your time on the narrow road, you will encounter tractors and possibly even an articulated lorry. Would definitely return. A grab-rail in the bathroom, set vertically against the door frame, below the light switch would be useful. The existing one is a bit low to help tall people get off the toilet.
