  • "The place was fine but a bit dog eared eg dirt/stains on the stair carpet."

Top bedroom shower not very powerful, although don't know how much you can do about that. Luckily we brought wood with us as the 'starter' amount was a bit paltry and with Christmas it's hard to see where we could have got more. Thanks for letting us in early though and the 'welcome pack' was appreciated.

  • "Lovely cottage in a great setting to explore the area with so much on the doorstep."

Only slight disappointment was the garden which was a wilderness so no real outdoor space other than a picnic table. Didn’t matter as much for the dog as so many nice walks straight from the door but would have been good to have an outdoor space in the evenings as the weather was lovely.

  • "We really enjoyed our stay and only found one thing strange, there was not an iron or ironing board?"

We have rented all over the world and had never come across this so hadn't packed our own. Only a small complaint but other wise a brilliant house in a great location, very clean and comfy with lovely decor. The garden is very steep, this was not a problem to us but if we had children or mobility issues it could have been. That said I would totally recommend this house for your break.

  • "Spacious and comfortable house, great location for lots of places to visit."

Only real complains were all the toilets do not function properly, fault with washing machine drawer, no place to hang washing.( the only place was in the downstairs toilet) No ironing board or iron. Garden in very poor condition and almost unusable. Still trying to find the games room?? Will not rent the Post Office House again.

Dear Mr Robson Thank you for your feedback for Old Post Office House, we are pleased that you found the accommodation comfortable and spacious. We will look into the toilets and rectify if needed, likewise the washing machine drawer. We have provided a clothes horse under the stairs as well as the hanging position in the downstairs toilet, we will look at providing a line for the garden as well. We will consider supplying an ironing board and iron. The games room was a listing mistake by Sykes, we do not have a games room, but before Covid we did have a supply of games and DVD's in the TV cabinet, we have taken these away because of the hygiene risk. Due to local lockdown rules we were unable to tidy the garden as much as we would have liked before our first booking. As the property is now fully booked through to October, we will not get an opportunity to rectify this until after October. Property Owner

Not a huge impact on the stay but did mean we couldn't give the kids outdoor space to play.

The location with the village shop across the road and a hotel with very good food a few doors down was fantastic.

  • "The house was so cosy and comfortable."

It is genuinely the best stocked kitchen We’ve ever had in a holiday home and made it easy to cook throughout the week. There is so much to do in the area. There are super circular walks from the village. Going further afield there are walks round Pitlochry - the Killiecrankie Path was lovely, even in January. The village Community shop Is friendly and can order you food in if you give them notice in advance. We got fresh produce there easily. The Kirkmichael Hotel was friendly and the food was good. Overall the break here was so good we booked to come back.

It was very clean and warm. The local shop is across the road with a very welcoming pub a few doors down. There are plenty of things to see a short drive away and some really nice walks. We'll definitely visit again.

  • "A great property."

Clean and well appointed. It's great to walk into a kitchen which has absolutely everything that we need. Lovely touches like the coffee and shortbread left out for us show that the owners have thought about their guests. Even dog biscuits should you need them. The village shop is just across the road, and the pub is a couple of doors down. Plenty of walking, virtually from the door and a pretty river, the Ardle to stroll beside.

  • "Really lovely cottage in a friendly village."

Lots of nice walks close by so handy for us having 2 dogs. Owners obviously dog friendly as left treats and a snuggly blanket which Peg and Dora loved. The living space downstairs is a good social space and the bedrooms are beautifully decorated and comfortable beds. Only downside is the outside space and steps up to patio are very narrow and slippy when wet, OK for us but not so good for elderly or children but apart from that we thoroughly enjoyed our stay

  • "Our main reason for booking the Post Office House was to attend a family wedding in Pitlochry, a long way from Devon where we live."

The house catered for us, two of our daughters and their husbands and our sister-in-law from Sydney. We were extremely lucky by having glorious warm, sunny weather so were able to sit in the garden to have our breakfast on most days. Everyone we met was helpful, having the shop/café opposite was a bonus. We made full use of the map on the wall in the house to help plan our walks and days out and to round the week off we even won the pub quiz at the Strathardle Inn where we were made very welcome and the banana bread dessert on the menu is definitely worth going back for. We would highly recommend staying at the Post Office House to anyone.
