"Dear Silverwood Owner, Sykes Cottages."
Firstly think it would have been appropriate for you to accept an invitation to view my concerns, but declined. So forward Photos for your records and Sykes Cottages. I ask for your response and Sykes response too. Further to our conversation this morning, 3/04/25 I attach photos of the issues raised with you regards housekeeping and Safety. 1. The front door of the Lodge found on arrival to be badly sticking, I had to remove the rug in hall to get access. That very obvious fault should have been actioned. Rug still cannot be at opening. 2. The mat on the balcony area is badly worn and surface tripped up my granddaughter, I removed the gauze sticking up. 3. The Oven was used last night to heat pizzas and oven grill was not clean hence enveloped lounge in blue smoke, the smoke detector did not operate? Had to open all windows and doors. Oven looks very old and has no fan! Is the thermostat even accurate. 4. The Hot-tub was unusable on day 1 due to being only 30c. Resolved by the very nice handyman the next day. 5. The kitchen knives supplied are not fit for purpose only 2 and one large sticks out of block. 6. 4 coffee mugs supplied three matching! One with long dirty crack on side. 7. Cutlery mismatched and old. 8. Flooring lifting and breaking up in hall and kitchen. Looks ugly. 9. Kitchen table, legs designing tight area a trip hazard and the table top blistered, again quite ugly. 20.warned by Sykes to keep property clean but no hoover or even brush and dustpan supplied. We like the location and may return but failures like these are not as I said to you good for your business and need urgent rectification. Photos attached. (The bedside lampshade was peeling plastic rotting away. Forgot that one!) The rather rude Owner seemingly unconcerned did not visit us despite request. The defects remained as stated when we left.

"We stayed at Lodge 12 and was great to get the car right up beside lodge."
We were a party of 4 females that work together and we had a fantastic time here, the weather was kind to us, WiFi was great as we took alexa with us to play all our music, the only draw back was the hot tub lids were very hard to put back on as it didn't sit right when taken off as it just fell right down had to negotiate one person in the tub to pull up and one at the side, was quite heavy but that aside could not find any fault with anything else. It was a lovely location and well kept, would definitely return.
