"Lovely facility that is close to amenities."
Very comfortable and immaculately clean. The house could do with a brush and a mop and bucket to clean. the floor at the end of our weekend break. I know there was a miniature brush and shovel but they were difficult to use due to recent knee operation. Also the exit into the back garden is pretty dangerous as you have to step over a hole to the slab, especially in the dark. The fridge door opens onto a handle on an adjacent cupboard door which has slight damage on it. Through time this could get worse. Simple remedy is to change fridge door to open in opposite direction. This is very easyily fixed.
There is a great book on the table which shows all available eating and take away places as well as local tourist attractions. All in all, it's a beautifull, well kept home and hopefully I'll be back in the near future to do more visits to tourist destinations.
Thank you so much for your kind words and helpful feedback following your recent stay. We're really pleased to hear you found the property comfortable, immaculately clean, and well located for amenities and local attractions.
We appreciate your comments regarding the cleaning items. Just to clarify, there is a brush and mop hanging behind the kitchen door, which may have been missed during your stay. We're sorry for any inconvenience this caused, especially given your recent knee operation.
Regarding the step into the back garden, thank you for raising this. The slab covers an old drain and was previously unstable, but has since been secured. The small hole at the base is intentional to allow water drainage—just one of the quirks of owning a charming older home. We’ll look into ways to make this area feel even safer, particularly for evening use.
As for the fridge door, the owner is aware of its positioning and has considered reversing it. However, doing so would make access to the fridge more difficult due to the layout. We’ll continue to monitor this and ensure it doesn’t cause any further wear to the adjacent cupboard.
We’re glad you enjoyed the welcome book and found it useful for exploring the area. It’s great to hear you’re considering a return visit—we’d love to welcome you back anytime!

"There were 3 of us stayed for 3 weeks and the only problems were the parking and the height of the microwave as I'm only 5'2 I found it difficult to reach."
I would say it was beyond our expectations, if you are looking for a quiet holiday I would highly recommend thus cottage.
Thank you so much for your lovely comments. I’m really pleased you enjoyed your stay.

"Very nice little property."
Fully equipped kitchen, comfortable beds, nice bathroom, perfect for our needs. Only very minor would be the tv signal is very poor and the shower head could be a little higher but overall a really good place to stay. Thanks
Thank you for lovely comments. The tv has a booster for the signal, but I know it’s not great… it’s a work in progress. I’ll speak to my maintenance team about the shower and see what they can come up with. Glad you enjoyed your stay.

"We are sorry to say we were a bit disappointed, especially after reading all the good reviews from other people."
Floor and kitchen were dirty. Dog hair could be seen in the corners. The kitchen was in theory well equipped, but with random, old, and not so clean utensils. There were only mobile oil heater radiators available. The chimney in one of the bedrooms was awaiting maintenance, and unfortunately that makes the room smell of dump. I’m sorry to say but I wouldn’t recommend it.
Thank you for sharing your feedback with us. We're truly sorry to hear about the issues you encountered during your stay.
We apologize for the cleanliness of the floor and kitchen not meeting your expectations. We'll make sure our cleaning staff pays extra attention to these areas moving forward. Additionally, we'll review and update the kitchen utensils to ensure they're in good condition and properly cleaned.
We understand that the heating situation wasn't ideal, and we're currently exploring options to improve it.
Thank you for bringing these matters to our attention.

"We enjoyed our break at the cottage although we did raise a question the day after we arrived regarding the bad TV signal and never received a reply from Sykes or the owners."
It should also be known that parking in the narrow street can present a problem as some residents appear to feel that there are certain spaces that are really theirs. It can be very difficult when you are trying to unload and load your car.
Cottage was comfortable and well equipped. Lots of the basics you require are provided in the kitchen.

"We had a lovely 4 night stay at 3 Dunrobin Street."
We had previously booked an alternative cottage for the week before which was cancelled at short notice so we booked here with Sykes for the following week and the weather was glorious!
The cottage had everything we could have needed for our stay which we found spacious and comfortable.
We had one issue with getting a signal for terrestrial tv channels however streaming apps were available which we made use of.
It was our first visit to Tain and we’re delighted at how close all amenities are.
Thank you for providing such a cosy and comfortable stay
Thank you for your lovely comments, I’m so pleased you enjoyed your stay

"Lovely cottage, had everything you could possibly need in the kitchen."
Nice enclosed garden perfect for the dog, could perhaps do with a little tidy up. Great base for walking into the village or exploring further afield. Close to pub and shops etc. Would recommend

"A much nicer house than we expected."
Its very well equipped, especially for a family, with plenty of games, books and kitchen equipment. There is a herbs and spices rack which means you dont need to bring the essentials. I was very happy.
Only change I would make is the rules - wasnt clear if we needed to strip the beds etc. We cleaned up after ourselves but would be good to have a clearer standard. Would reccomend.
Thank you for your lovely comments. I’m glad you enjoyed your stay. There is no need to strip the beds, we are more than happy to take care of this.

"We stayed the second week of our three weeks in Scotland in 3 Dunrobin Street."
This cottage offers great value for money. Positive points are that it is clean. Good mattresses. Generally good facilities. Good use of space. Small negative is that it gets very warm upstairs. In the kitchen for example a wok or extra frying pan would be welcome.

"Ticks all the boxes for relaxing weeks R&R."
Only the two of us plus dog- so more than ample space- if you’re tall- just watch your head coming down the stairs- learned to duck after a few bumps!
Thanks for your lovely comments, glad you enjoyed your stay and I hope your head has recovered.

"3 Dunrobin Street is a great property."
Nice, modern decor and very comfortable. Great facilities and handy for town and seaside walks. Only issue(not for us) is that bathroom/shower upstairs, so, wouldn’t be suitable for people with reduced mobility. Thans for a lovey break and the delicious local cheese, milk and butter
Thank you for your lovely comments, so pleased you enjoyed your stay.

"This is a lovely old fisherman's cottage with lots of character, cosy, comfy and well stocked, very handy for all that Tain has to offer."
There was a problem with opening the front door, we could see various screws had been removed previously and the key cover; it is easy to open from outside but we all struggled with opening from inside.
Also we couldn't find any information about what we could put in the recycling, which does differ from place to place.
However, these minor niggles apart, we really enjoyed our stay. The local cheese plus breakfast rolls, milk and delicious butter you provided were most welcome. I would definitely recommend a stay in this house.

The kitchen was so well stocked opening straight into the garden.
