  • "If you book The Garden Lodge you will not be disappointed - it is a little gem!"

Liz and Andrew are fantastic hosts and have thought of everything even giving you a choice of duvet weight, size of towels etc way beyond the usual. The welcome hamper was another delight with bacon, sausages, black pudding and fresh eggs plus lots of extras. The lodge is set in their beautiful garden with lots of birds and wildlife. Where better to relax with lots of places to visit in the locality. Many thanks Liz and Andrew for making us feel so welcome we hope to visit again in the future. Hugh & Lesley

  • "We received a warm welcome on our arrival at the Garden Lodge."

The hosts willingly share their knowledge of the wildlife that visits their beautiful garden, and we felt privileged to be able to spend time there. Waking each morning to the sight and sound of a variety of birds in the trees was delightful. The Garden Lodge was inviting, warm and bright. It had everything that we could possibly have needed for our stay. The attention to detail was second to none and the Welcome Pack on arrival was a very pleasant bonus. Many thanks to Liz and Andrew. We had a very enjoyable stay at the Garden Lodge. Not only will we return but we will recommend it to others.

  • "Had a really lovely stay at the lodge, couldn't fault it ."

It was in a peaceful location set in the garden area which in the summer would be lovely to sit it.The lodge was nicely furnished ,clean ,comfortable, and had all you needed for a pleasant stay. The owners were friendly and helpful if you needed anything but allowed you all the privacy you wanted. The welcome pack was the best one we have ever had and was much appreciated. An added bonus were the different birds there including a nuthatch and a splendid cock pheasant. Would definitely recommend this property.

  • "I had a wonderful, relaxing week at Lodge Cottage, there was everything I needed and more and Liz and Andrew could not have been nicer."

It is a bird lover,s paradise, on opening my bedroom curtains on the first morning there were 12/13 pheasants about 6ft. from my window, amazing, also a nuthutch. The Lodge is set in wonderful gardens with a woodland at the rear, it was so peaceful. There are two old pubs that do a good carvery within easy distance, as is Bridgnorth. Would highly recommend The Lodge for a peaceful break.

Thank you Nancy for such lovely feedback. We really appreciate it and it was a pleasure to meet you. The pheasants keep coming, we think they are missing you :) Property Owner

  • "We had a really enjoyable stay earlier this month."

The lodge was very comfortable and more spacious than appeared in the photographs. The owners certainly went over and above to ensure our expectations were exceeded, even offering a choice of duvet weight and towel size, and we don't think the welcome pack will ever be beaten. Unfortunately we weren't able to take advantage of the wonderful outside seating areas, but enjoyed a drizzly walk exploring the beautiful garden. The location of the property was ideal for exploring the area, whilst remaining a tranquil spot to return to each evening.

  • "Garden Lodge is excellent, really special in every way."

Although there is one tiny step into the property & a step up into the shower that did not hinder my mobility issues at all. It was a sheer joy to stay somewhere in which the owners have thought of everything in order to make your holiday relaxing, enjoyable and pleasurable. The country garden & Lodge is a delight. It is a holiday we will never forget. The owners great care and enthusiasm for both guests and their hideaway home is second to none. We were greeted with smiles from both Liz & Andrew, along with a refreshing social distanced cup of tea & natter in the garden. This couple are amazing. It may be their first season but they both would make great tutors for fellow holiday home owners. THANK YOU. The James, Devon

About the location

Much Wenlock 8 miles; Ironbridge 15 miles; Shrewsbury 20 miles; Ludlow 20 miles; Church Stretton 20 miles.

The market town of Bridgnorth lies in two very distinct halves - the High Town and the Low Town - separated by the red sandstone ridge on which the town is built. The two halves are connected by winding streets and flights of steps, or there is always the steep funicular railway, enabling the weary traveller to glimpse what Charles I called "the finest view in all my kingdom". A bustling Saturday street market provides an ample excuse to explore the town and examine the castle ruins, which lean at a greater angle than the Leaning Tower of Pisa! Flowing below is the River Severn, providing many pleasant riverside walks. The Severn Valley Railway runs between Bridgnorth and Kidderminster, and runs a variety of steam and diesel engines through picturesque country stations. In the areas surrounding Bridgnorth, there are a wealth of country parks, impressive houses, museums and picturesque Shropshire villages, as well as easy access to The Royal Air Force Museum at Cosford, and Ironbridge Gorge, with its 10 museums and striking landscape. The area offers excellent walking, and with the popular destinations of Shrewsbury, Ludlow and Church Stretton all within easy reach, it is ideal for a visit any time of the year.
