“On arriving at No 10 - Met with Margaret Moran who was very friendly and helpful with guidance on what was available in the area with regard shops, restaurants etc - another day Steve popped by to check everything was OK - we had a lovely meal at the Thached Cottage Pub in Ballycommon on the Sunday another day we went to Dromineer where we had a lovely lunch at the Tea Rooms - did not get to the Whisky Still pub there but this had been recommended as well - on the first night we went the Indian Restaurant in Nenagh which was very good.”

Enjoyed our stay - visited Nenagh Castle, and spent sometime in Birr, Co Offaly and Castle in Co Tipperary and a few more towns. Visited family and all in all it was a very enjoyable week. So will be returning!

All properties boast an open fire and two are detached, with the others being semi-detached. About the location

Nenagh 6 miles; Portumna 18 miles.

The village of Puckane lies on the banks of Lough Derg, the Republic of Ireland's second largest lake, 6 miles from the town of Nenagh, in County Tipperary. Puckane typifies rural Ireland, and a collection of 12 Puckane holiday cottages are located right in the centre of the village, around a village green. The village also offers a shop, tennis club and Kennedy's Pub, a traditional Irish pub. On the shores of Lough Derg, Puckane is ideal for fishing, sailing and watersports, while within easy reach are the towns of Nenagh, and Portumna. Visit Nenagh's old gaol and Heritage Centre, located in the gaol house, or Nenagh Castle, which dates back to 1216. A little further afield lies Portumna; home to the Portumna Castle and Gardens, it is a great day out for all the family, while Portumna Forest Park has great forest walks and fantastic routes for mountain biking and cycling. With lots to see and do, Puckane is a great base for touring the area.
