"Property was in a very good location, although the parking permit is for the car park in the town, so a 10-15 minute walk there and back, no hardship for us, but may be for the not so mobile."
It is furnished to a high standard and has every amenity you may need. Bed clothes and towels were a pristine white and looked absolutely fabulous. Two small welcome packs were left for guests, which is a lovely touch.
Jenny, the property owner, was spot on from the beginning, staff at Coast and Country were excellent, most friendly, helpful and accommodating.

"The property was spacious, spotlessly clean and had everything you could possibly need."
It was such a peaceful and relaxing place to spend a week. The location was lovely, and close enough to walk into town (although it is a steep climb back).
The parking permit was extremely useful and we were pleased to discover that the carpark has an EV charger.
We loved staying in Hillside and Dartmouth in general.
Thank you for your feedback we are really pleased you had a great holiday.

"Suggest that the hedges and plants in the garden are cut back and maintained through the season."
Thank you for your feedback. We do have a regular gardener, but he had to miss one planned visit unexpectedly. We’ve taken steps to ensure this should not happen again so that the planted areas and hedges should be looking at their best the next time you visit!

"An excellent holiday home exactly as expected from the description and previous reviews."
You dont get a Dart view, but the view over the hillside opposite of buildings clinging to the slope is lovely of itself. Walk up Victoria Road for a view back over the valley. Dartmouth is hilly so dont be put off by the location, you're only half way up the hill here and plenty of places closer to the river are higher up and dont offer the option of a half hourly bus service if you're feeling lazy! Unloading outside was no problem though you might want to avoid very heavy suitcases. There's gas CH and a Hive control so no probs with coziness.

"A lovely property."
Spotlessly clean, well equipped and well positioned. The hill made us walk off all the extra calories from the delicious local food! The parking permit was SO helpful too. Loved the house and loved Dartmouth. A great stay. Thank you.

"Hillside is beautifully appointed and equipped and was warm and welcoming when we arrived."
About a 10 minute walk into town and the car park; we could have used the bus which stops just outside the house every 30 minutes. The free parking pass was a real asset, as parking is at a premium in Dartmouth. So much to see and do we had a great week.
Thank you.

"Amazing property, it was immaculately clean."
Nothing major but would have liked a bigger TV, and would have liked a coffee machine but wasn’t essential. Great location, parking wasn’t an issue with the parking pass. Lovely views from decking, in a quiet part of the town.

"We had a great week at Hillside - a lovely, comfortable house, which is very clean, well equipped, with modern facilities & decor."
Perfectly placed, it's a short walk into Dartmouth town centre, albeit uphill on the way home, with all it's restaurants, shops & pubs. Lots of lovely walks on your doorstep, as well as the ferries and steam train to various other places.
The parking permit for the town centre car park was very much appreciated & useful. We hardly used the car, so it was great to be able to safely park, and not worry about the where the car was. You can park outside the house for loading/unloading & then the car park is only about 15 mins walk away from the house, so all very easy - as was key collection/drop off at the Coast & Country offices (just over the road from the car park).

"A drier would be nice"
Thank you for your review and we are really pleased that you enjoyed your stay. This is our first year and we did think about whether to supply a tumble dryer but decided not to due to a wish to be environmentally friendly. There is a long washing line with pegs supplied in the back garden and also a small airer if the weather is inclement. Thanks again for the feedback.

"The property is well placed to enjoy the town and all amenities of Dartmouth."
It is very central and 10min walk to centre. Although there is no parking space at the property, a permit for one vehicle is provided to park in town. The house is very stylishly decorated, modern and up to date decor. Lots of storage, very comfortable beds and well fitted kitchen. The bathroom and shower room are lovely with good water pressure in both.
There is so much to do in Dartmouth itself, for two days we didn't use the car! We walked to Dartmouth Castle and Castle cove. We were lucky to see a dolphin in the cove. There is a lovely cafe next to the castle. We caught a small ferry/water taxi back, make sure you take cash to pay the ferry man. On another day we crossed the river and caught the steam train to Paignton and back for a cruise on the river Dart. 3 trips to the beach - Bantham beach for body boarding and Bigbury to catch sea tractor to Burgh Island and enjoy crab sandwich at Pilchard Inn. Another beach we enjoyed is Blackpool Sands (not sandy) a sheltered bay with good swimming. Bigbury and Bantham beaches are sandy.
There is an abundance of places to eat in Dartmouth and our favourites, Alf Resco for brunch, Floating Bridge and Rockfish for dinner. There is a great butcher just next to the market place at the end of the road when you walk into town. Also a French bakery next to the market, down one of the narrow lanes.
We didn't have time to take a ferry trip to Dittisham where we planned crabbing on the pontoon, we also wanted to go paddle boarding but hopefully do them next time.
Very enjoyable and Hillside is the perfect place to stay.
