  • "A lovely little cottage in a tranquil area of Leeds Castle grounds."

    The garden is fully fenced in and has the weir and river running along the bottom of it. It has a large well kept garden with a seated area and bbq, ideal for sitting listening to the river and relaxing with a glass of wine and playing with our dog in the garden. We had a welcome pack when we arrived which is a lovely greeting for the start of your stay. The cottage is compact and has everything you need for your stay. It was clean, but a little tired in some places. The front door needs some attention, so do a couple of the kitchen cupboard doors and the roof light blind in the bedroom, doesn’t stay down properly. Bedroom is well equipped, but could do with a full length mirror. Bed clean and comfortable. Bathroom very clean and has some lovely toiletry products for you to use during your stay. We stayed the 2nd week in August 26 and had a lovely stay. We would highly recommend and will definitely be back.

  • "Wonderful romantic location with a large garden on the bank of a small stream (the river Len)."

    In the summer it can become very hot inside as it is on a very sunny location. Closing the curtains will help a great deal and on the first floor a fan was thoughtfully added near the bed. Minor points for improvement that had no effect on our stay: There was something wrong with aforementioned fan as it wouldn’t turn (no problem if you turn that feature off though). The doors of the kitchen cabinets weren’t well aligned and one of the upper cabinets wrappings seems to have melted off/detached from the wood in the past. The paintwork on the outside is starting to flake off, but one could say that ads to the charms of this lovely quaint cottage. The sofa is tasteful yet almost too cosy (small) for two persons to sit on comfortably. But then iwe understand it’s hard to squeeze in a sofa in this lovely cottage. Anyway, everything is functioning as it should but maybe it’s time for some maintenance. Weir cottage is within good walking distance (18 mins) of the George Inn in the village of Leeds. Wonderful walks are to be made on the grounds but when you bring a dog you are unfortunately restricted to the public footpaths. Notwithstanding the points for improvements mentioned, we enjoyed our stay tremendously and recommend it to anyone wanting to visit this lovely part of Kent. We hope to revisit you in the future.

  • "Weir Cottage is a charming period property."

    Best of all is the utterly beautiful and tranquil setting in a lovely garden by the river. It is small downstairs but has a decent shower room and good cooking facilities. No dish washer or washing machine though. WiFi was very good and reached right out into garden. The bedroom is the whole upper floor and it's very atmospheric with lots of beams. Whilst we thoroughly enjoyed our stay, there are a few things to improve on. The small sofa is rather uncomfy as it has a solid base. We also felt the bed mattress whilst a good king size could have been more comfortable; it felt rather basic. Everything was clean and tidy though and the shower is good; we had no hot water issues as some earlier review stated. Finally, the garden is crying out for 2 loungers to fully enjoy lazy days especially in this heat. If like us you are a dog owner I must point out that whilst the property is dog friendly. Leeds Castle itself certainly isn't. You won't be able to enter the grounds with your dog. You can take one path through which is also a public footpath but generally it's a no. Which really surprised us and needs to be included in the listing. All in all a great place and location though.

  • "Your description is inaccurate!"

    Only upon arrival did we discover that, in order to get to Weir Cottage, you have to walk at least 50 mtrs through the private garden of Keepers House. We felt very restricted in our comings and goings by this, as the neighbours, friendly as they were, had to call in their dog all the time for example. Sykes Cottages doesn't mention this in the description on the website and in the description of how to get to Weir Cottage it only says: 'Walk past Keepers House'. Walking past may be true, but has a totally different connotation to anyone who has never been there before.

  • "Weir Cottage was a joy, in a complete oasis."

    Everything was there for our comfort, including luxurious toiletries and a generous welcome pack. The free pass into the castle was much appreciated, understandably the weekend was busy, but it didn't affect us in our little nook. We loved every minute and will definitely recommend.

  • "A lovely property with everything we needed."

    We really appreciated the welcome pack. Loved looking out at the weir, ducks and the sheep on the hill. Felt private even though it is attached and you need to walk through to get to the property as the garden has a wall seating and barbecue. Lovely location.Had a wonderful time.

  • "Beautiful little cottage excellent location, only one thing really that was a bit annoying the fact that we had no hot water on occasion we were told by site staff that came out to us, (very good service) that the Weir Cottage shared its water tank with the much larger Keepers Cottage next door!"

    needless to say this effected our hot water in the morning, unless we got up at the crack of dawn to beat there consumption!

  • "We had a wonderful time staying at Weir cottage over Christmas."

    We thought it would be so tiny by the photos but it was well laid out and felt spacious and comfy with a large enclosed garden. We were greeted by the loveliest selection of things when we arrived which was so nice and complementary tickets to the castle for the duration of our stay! You are able to walk though the grounds with a dog but only on public footpaths and not the castle footpaths but it was a little confusing to figure out which was which. Despite this the Leeds castle team were lovely and always ready to help with the tiniest of problems. Thank you

  • "Lovely well maintained cottage & garden."

    Perfect for short stays but we found the downstairs just a bit too small for any longer. Also it would be helpful if torches were provided for the long dark walk back from the Castle View restaurant. It was pitch black and we had to manage with the torch on our phone!

  • "I think Sykes website is really good which I do use regularly but on this occasion the photographs were out of date and very disappointing that there was no daybed in the garden as seen on the pictures It was a pleasant surprise to find the cottage was in the grounds of Leeds Castle,this was not in the description on Sykes website (which made it confusing on arrival ) with free entry to the castle and grounds, even when it was closed more than made up for it This cottage is the perfect holiday home, especially if you love wildlife and nature as we do we had a really nice time."

  • "The cottage is in the most perfect location by the Weir (naturally!"

    ) so we saw an abundance of ducks and moorhens. The garden is large and beautifully planted and fully secure for our dog to roam free. The front garden has a magnificent weeping willow. The house itself is compact but very comfortable, the shower room is modern and the shower is hot and powerful. The whole of the upstairs is the bedroom, which is decorated well and has a very comfy bed. The toiletries supplied are plentiful and from the fabulously luxurious Noble Isle range. The welcome pack of snacks, biscuits, soft drinks and a pint of milk (for a welcome cup of tea on arrival) was much appreciated..(with a few teabags and coffee sachets supplied in the kitchen cupboard too). We had the most glorious week of sunshine and have taken so many sunrise and sunset we could publish a book! Castle staff throughout were extremely friendly and utterly professional. We have already booked the same week next year and were very sad to leave.

  • "The pictures of this property do not do it justice."

    A very cozy cottage, and a lovely location, with the sound of the running water from the river to soothe the sole. The garden was beautifully maintained and it would be lovely to go back in the summer to take advantage. Set on the grounds of the Leeds Castle and we took advantage of complimentary tickets during our long weekend. Would definitely recommend a stay.

  • "A truly perfect location for a relaxing break, especially in these surreal times."

    The cottage is full of character and the garden secluded with the weir closeby, so relaxing to listen to along with the wildlife and the many fish that my husband enjoyed catching in the evening. Having access to the grounds of Leeds Castle with it's incredible scenery to enjoy only a short walk away, it was the perfect location to explore the surrounding area knowing that the cottage was there to return to for peace and quiet.

  • "The setting is lovely that cannot be denied But they need to improve their meet and great We were told to go to Broomfield road where we had trouble getting in, once at the office we were given verbal instructions to go back out of the park and into the A20 entrance, once in the entrance we had no idea where we were going, there should be a meet and great to take you to your cottage Once in there was a problem with the cold feed to the shower consequently we had to shower under a drip, we did call up but it was 1."

    5 hours before someone came at which point we were heading out for a reserved dinner We tried everything but the Wi-fi simply didn't work

In the rural village of Broomfield, found within a group of traditional and rustic cottages, is Weir Cottage, a delightful and compact property surrounded by woodland.

Best suited to a couple looking for a romantic getaway in the country, you have access to nature on your doorstep and the chance to explore the lovely Kent Downs AONB.

An open-plan living area takes up most of the ground floor, and it's here you will find the kitchen and sitting room, as well as a folding dining table and chairs, neatly tucked away.

The corner sofa will look even more inviting after a long day of walking, opposite the shining kitchen, offering you the essential appliances for your self-catering break.

In the summer months you can take advantage of the large garden outside and let the dog have a good run around.
