"Great property and just as described."
Had a wonderful stay and found it very relaxing.
"A beautiful location and incredibly quiet."
We found the Lodge lacked comfortable chairs, and having a slightly larger bathroom.
"Lovely place to stay!"
We had a great time.

We love going to Summer Hill and have been visiting for the past 28 years The cabin always fulfils our expectations and I always feel rested and relaxed Everything that you will need you will find in the cabin and the surroundings are so beautiful you cannot help but go for walks no matter what the weather
"A magical stay"
"The property was lovely and in a quiet location."
The facilities were all that we needed. No extras were provided and so a trip to a supermarket was essential. Luckily Booths in Ulverston was ideal, lots of nice food and ready meals
"Grasmere is a lovely log cabin."
It is in a quiet and peaceful location. It is only four miles from Ulverston, where there is Booths supermarket, which was useful, as the local shop in Greenod has been closed down. We had a lovely stay and enjoyed the bird song, watching the hares and the Fox. A weekend away, which soothed the soul.
"Absolutely beautiful, location was perfect, very quiet, loved the peaceful surroundings."
Would definitely go back 5*
"Loved everything about this cottage."
Would certainly book again.
"I declined to stay after seeing the outside walking gravel which was a hindrance not easy to cross personally or move my travel suitcases."
. I could not stay and left right away though the owner was sympathetic and tried to help by contacting sykes who declined to provide a refund... Those details should have been mentioned before one finalise his/her booking and pay... I wish a hard walkway pavement be made connecting the car park to the lodge entrance
"The heating was not very good and seating in the lounge in not very comfortable ..."
The heating was not very good and seating in the lounge in not very comfortable and no were to put any food in the kitchen apart from the fridge
"Everything was good with the accommodation, however, the radiator in the main bedroom did not work."
We switched it on when we arrived as was a bit chilly but it never came on during our stay. Luckily, the rest of the week was mild and the heat from the living area moved through the cabin when kept the door leading to the room open.
"Comfortable but settee uncomfortable."
Good facilities. Quaint cabin quiet and peaceful.
"We are used to high standards with Sykes cottages but I'm afraid Grasmere did not hit those standards."
The lodge had a beautiful setting but was tired and needed updating. There were a lot of little things that could have been done to bring it up to the standard we have come to expect from Sykes.
"Lovely relaxing holiday."
"We had a fantastic week all round from the moment we pulled up to the property."
The setting was a nice surprise and the lodge very appealing and comfortable. We would recommend Tarn Hows including Tom Heights and Toms Gill and the Bluebird Cafe in Coniston and Brantwood House gardens/Grizedale.
"Such a beautiful location and just loved the cabin."
Perfect little haven to come back to each day after exploring the Lakes
"This was our second visit to Grasmere Lodge and we enjoyed it as much as the first time."
The setting is beautiful - peaceful, surrounded by flowers and trees that attract a variety of wildlife. It feels remote but is only a short drive from Coniston, Ulverston and the southern end of Windermere. The accommodation is quite simple - no washing machine or dishwasher - but well equipped as a comfortable base for a holiday in the Southern Lakes.
"We enjoyed our stay in Grasmere so much that we have booked to visit again in the spring."
The lodge is in a lovely peaceful setting with fine views of the garden and hillside from all the windows. Although up a very quiet lane (which suited us fine) you soon access the route towards Coniston, and the A590 is a few minutes away at Greenodd. We were able to walk in the hills in the mornings and visit the estuaries and coast in the afternoon. The accommodation was warm, comfortable and well equipped with good quality bed linen and towels.
"The heating wasn’t great, small accommodation, very isolated, shower wasn’t great."
Thank you for your feedback. We fully appreciate that it has been very cold recently due to the bad weather, therefore we have provided extra convector heaters in the property. If you required further heating during your stay, we were only a phone call away to discuss. The property is on the smaller side, and we feel that the photographs, and the price both reflect this. The website does state that the nearest village is 1.5 miles away, so we feel Guests are prior warned that the property is a little out of the way. Lastly, we did attend to the property following your visit, and we feel that the shower is in full working order. Thank you again for your comments, it is greatly appreciated. Property Owner
"Perfect location for get away from it all."

"We had a lovely time at Grasmere Lodge."
I would recommend staying here to anyone who wants to experience all the lakes has to offer. Realy nice break away. Would come back again.
"Lovely little get away."
The cabin was clean and tidy and everything you need for a nice weekend away, very peaceful. The only thing I have to say is when it was raining heavy the roof starting leaking but apart from that very happy.
"Lovely setting for a getaway from it all few days which is just what we wanted."
Saying that Ulverston is only a few miles away for shopping and eating out . We loved to be back early just to wind down with a few drinks watching the wildlife and enjoying the peacefulness of Grasmere .
"General state of the property was a bit tatty, but made up for it by its excellent location."
Wi Fi was very useful.
"It was a wonderful place for anyone like us who are looking for some peace and a connection with nature."
The cabin is set away from any traffic and is well maintained ,as are the grounds.A car or bike is necessary to reach the nearest village which is about a mile away. There is no foot paths to walk on.This is no fault of the premises and did not affect our wonderful holiday.thank you also for your support and updates.
Accommodating owner and smashing local fish and chips!
"Cottage was clean and tidy, absolutely fantastic!"
Super cosy, and great facilities for cooking too. We really loved staying here, it made our holiday just perfect!
"The place was very easy to find and it was so beautiful and quiet."
The cottage itself was spotless and the furnishings were very cosy and comfortable. Would definitely recommend staying here
"The cabin was idealic , the area around it was stunning."
My 2 friends and i sat on the veranda most of the weekend just listening to the wildlife and watching the birds hop from tree to tree right in front of us or looking at the beautiful scenery that changed every hour. Just when you thought it couldnt get any better you would spot a deer on the edge of the forest litterally right in front of you. We got there on friday night and booked for same time next year on saturday while we were there. Thats how much we all adored it. I think between us we took a thousand photos as we wanted to remember all of that stunningly beautiful weekend.
"Beautiful quiet setting."
Lots of wildlife to see - birds deer rabbits and squirrels. Very comfortable with good facilities. Would return.
"The chalet is utterly delightful, we love the way it was situated in a private and secluded setting, surrounded by trees."
We watched rabbits and squirrels from the kitchen window every morning, and on the last day there was a deer there as well. Even on the first, appallingly wet day, with biblical rain, it was a pleasure just to be in this lovely setting, warm and cosy, watching the rain sheet down. We will definitely return to this chalet!
"We really enjoyed our weekend, it was ideal for a little getaway!"
Brilliant quiet yet easily accessible location.
"Accomodation was perfect ."
Was really not impressed with the management on site .
"Grasmere the log cabin is in a beautiful location, the wildlife has to be seen."
You feel like you have been transported to a different planet, It's a must to stay there if you are looking for escapism from towns and cities. A most enjoyable holiday thankyou
"The place was lovely and very clean and was well equipped."
The internet was very slow. I was disappointed as we didn't receive any welcome and introductory information. We were only told off by Mrs Campbell for parking in a wrong spot and for my children running around the garden. Wonder if a smile came at some extra cost, she was very grumpy. Apart from that it was a great spot and I would recommend the place to a friend.
"Fantastic location to get away from the rat race great place good amenities lovely place"
"The cabins themselves are not new but have been refurbished to an excellent standard."
Very comfortable in a quiet & peaceful spot. We hope to return.
"A nice peaceful rural location and a straightforward, well-appointed, clean lodge is all we ask for."
A good holiday.
"Beautiful lodge, photos don't do it justice, perfect for a relaxing week."
Couldn't recommend it more!!
"Grasmere is a spot of tranquility in this busy world."
Was an extremely beautiful cottage that was self sufficient and as described. Would definitely look to coming back here sometime.

About the location
Ulverston 4 miles; Coniston 11 miles.
The small village of Greenodd rests on the estuary of the River Leven, within the Crake Valley, on the borders of the Lake District National Park. Once an 18th century shipbuilding centre and a significant commercial port, exporting locally quarried limestone, gunpowder and copper, Greenodd today is effectively a cul-de-sac with a selection of shops and a local pub, The Ship, which provides a visible link to the village’s history. The ancient market town of Ulverston is just 4 miles away, famous for its street markets and festivals, and boasts a wide range of shops, pubs and leisure facilities. It is also home to the only Laurel and Hardy museum in the world. This is a great location for a walking holiday and all the attractions of the National Park are within easy reach, including Coniston and Windermere, as is the beautiful Furness Coast with its golden beaches and good birdwatching opportunities. An ideal location for enjoying fantastic coastal and countryside pursuits.
