"The cottage was ok."
As somebody already mentioned we also had problems getting hot water-not great for basics like washing your hands. The mortice lock would not secure the property from the inside, only from the outside, which was slightly unnerving at night time. It is also looking a little tired-the various pull cords in the bathroom are filthy. As others have mentioned the road is dangerous for pedestrians and there was no pedestrian access to the seashore, close to the property due to a railway line; this meant having to use our car all of the time, when we are keen walkers. The area was very beautiful, but we struggled to find decent dining out, avoid The Dovey Inn, had better Hospital food.

"For the price of 4 nights, was disappointed."
Beds were comfortable, but had to leave a day early, as invested with flies

"Lovely cottage and great location."
Bonus having a car parking permit for local car parks. Highly recommend visiting local pub/restaurant called The Riverside in Pennal, the food and the service there is outstanding.

"The technology was a bit complicated."
Nice to have a sitting area outside.

"It would have been good to have more cupboard space for storage of food."

"Firstly on arrival, having just driven almost 300 miles; all we wanted was a hot drink, there was nothing in the cottage at all, we've stayed in numerous cottages across the country and this is the 1st time we've never had a complementary tea/coffee/milk left."
Bearing in mind it's a Sunday in Wales we had to get back in the car and go on a hunt for a shop still open. The cottage did have clean bed linen and towels but the place looked as if it hadn't been hoovered since the last visitors left, there was coal dirt all over the lounge floor, woodlice and a slug/snail trail across the floor and lounge wall. There were cobwebs in nearly every room. I attempted to hoover which was virtually impossible as it didn't have a carpet attachment! The bath still had a soap ring around it from the last visitors. There is no chance of walking to the village as there is no footpath or lighting along the 60mph road. One of the bedrooms has some kind of extraction unit which is running continuously. The overall experience and comfort was not what we were expecting, to the extent that we left 2 days early cutting our holiday short.

"Property is cosy with stunning views over the estuary."
We had a great week and would go back. The wood burner is lovely and the facilities are easy to use. Bring roasting/baking dishes if that is your plan, also a cafetière if you drink coffee. No bbq but we brought our own travel one to use on the patio area. A great place to eat is Salt Marsh Kitchen in Twyn. The book of walks in the property is useful and we did several lovely ones- particularly recommend the hike to Bearded Lake. My friend felt the twin bedroom she stayed in was a bit damp, although my room was fine. The property is set against the hillside so doubtless that is common. All in all, views to die for and cosy interior, would recommend.

"When I booked the cottage I was aware it was a mile into Aberdovey but wasn’t made aware that you couldn’t actually walk in as the roads were too narrow and there were no paths, I would not have booked this cottage had I known that."
The ‘garden’ area where the table and chairs are is not a welcoming area, it’s badly neglected and needs some TLC.

"It is a nice cosy cottage as described with a fantastic view that I wish I could have taken home with me!"

"The lodge was superb throughout."
Stunning location and exceptionally quiet at night.

"Lovely stone cottage situated in a quiet spot overlooking the beautiful estuary."
The views are incredible and always changing depending on the tides and weather. It was very restful sitting on the patio in the sunshine watching the views and estuary birds. Good use has been made of the space and the facilities were good with little luxuries like the wine cooler and heated towel rail. The underfloor heating was very comfortable and we didnt need any additional heating during our stay. Thanks for the welcoming bottle of wine - we enjoyed it. Aberdovey is a nice little seaside village and is centrally situated for visits to neighbouring market towns and seaside resorts. Thank you for a very nice stay.

"The lodge is a wonderfully homely and comfortable dwelling in a superb location with stunning views."
Our only complaint is that we didn't book for another week! The description of amenities within the Lodge was spot on and everything you could possibly require is catered for. The little touches give the Lodge that cosy and much loved feel. The surrounding villages are picturesque and we would definitely like to rebook this cottage by the sea. We cannot recommend it highly enough. Thank you fora wonderful stay.

"Excellent choice great views over the river dovey."
We found this a very cosy cottage, even though on the main A493 did not notice the traffic at all very quite at night. Well place cottage for driving Snowdonia & mid Wales. We stop here back in 2011 and we still talk about the Braich Y Celyn Lodge.

Aberdovey 1 mile.
A delightful, detached cottage, a former entrance lodge to a country estate, with wonderful estuary views, on the outskirts of the seaside resort of Aberdovey.
Full of character, with features including beams, slate flooring, the original bread oven, a woodburner, underfloor heating and original ornamental fireplaces in the bedrooms, this lovely Wales cottage has been sympathetically restored, and decorated with great style.
With wonderful views from every room over the estuary and the sandy beach just one mile away, this is a delightful setting.
Aberdovey has shops, tea rooms and pubs.
Great days out can be had in Machynlleth, the Snowdonia National Park, or on the local steam railway.
A perfect Aberdovey cottage to return to, whatever the time of year.
