  • "We had a lovely peaceful week here and really enjoyed it."

Gorgeous, peaceful setting listening to the animals and birds. Only downside (and advice if you booking here) the tap water is not drinkable so bring some bottled water. Would def stay here again

  • "Our 2nd holiday in the cottage and once again we had an enjoyable time."

We liked the rural farm location & seeing the animals of course. It was also nice to chat with the owners on several occasions . The cottage was well kitted out with the majority items in the kitchen. The lounge was well furnished but possibly the tv could be upgraded to Netflix as there wasn’t much on Freeview? However we won’t miss the Lane to the property, it seems impossible to avoid the bumps even though holes have been partly filled in - 2 trips each day was our limit. Thank you for an enjoyable stay.

she no longer spoke to us and stopped water surply , the owner waited everyday for us to go out she came in turnt all our items off and checked heating she even turnt my heart machine off 3 times Could not light fire as seal was all hanging off Or do any washing due to brown water We felt very uncomfortable staying at this property. In the end she made us feel very very unwelcome. Glad to get home. We have been meant in 35 years. This is the first problem we’ve ever had.

  • "The property was nice, and clean, in middle of a farm with farm animals, kids had enough space to play inside, we mistakenly mentioned 2 adults in booking when it should have been 4, called the owner she was ok with that, however the heating control was locked, first day at night it was very cold as heating switched off at 11."

30PM we felt very uncomfortable, next day morning called owner, owner came and advanced the heating for 1 hour, again at 9 PM we felt very cold, as the control was locked, called the owner, she was very angry about us calling at night, but came and set the heating, we tried to explain we have children and need heating on, she didn’t want to listen! We used bottle water because the tap water had a metallic smell the kettle had red limescale buildup , I strongly advise to install a limescale filter system ! And if you are locking the heating control, please mention that in advertisement!

  • "The cottage was lovely in a fantastic location, extremely spacious and very well equipped for a group of 5 adults holidaying in Yorkshire."

The location was picturesque and it was lovely staying on a working farm. The living room was a highlight. Owners are friendly and very helpful with all questions. Be aware of flies on the farm and in the cottage (to be expected on a working farm with windows open). There's also a mile long track to get to the cottage which you need to drive slowly on, but we had no problems with rainfall and weather and it was a good walking base for the week. The water pressure on one of the showers is too low and the cottage gets quite hot during summer months so good tip to close curtains/blinds and open windows and doors when needed staying in the property. Overall we had a wonderful stay and felt like the property was a home away from home and we'd be happy to return.

Village pub, the Ulleskelf Inn, excellent food and service at sensible prices. Although we didnt use it there is a good train service into York,[ saves cost of parking ] and coastliner busses from Tadcaster.

We found the water not tasting very good but this could be a regional thing. Also, the approach road to the property can be a bit challenging. However these things didn’t detract from our overall experience. We had a lovely holiday. Thank you.

  • "There was no mention in the property details that the access was on a mile long track which was full of pot holes and very bumpy, bad for suspension of any car."

. We fully appreciated this is a working farm but the skylight windows in the lounge were filthy. The shower cubicle was very worn and the runners had not been cleaned adequately. The cottage was very well equipped, spacious and homely but we had paid appx. £1200 for 3 nights which was considerably more than other similar sized properties we had looked at and had assumed, therefore, this would provide more in terms of comfort. Very disappointing.

The best thing about the accommodation was the people who own it, all of them so nice and friendly but never interfering, they work hard on the farm. You must try the park and ride into York great service and cheaper than parking in the city. Good meal (Sunday Lunch) at the local pub - Superb meal at the White Horse in Church Fenton highly recommended. Would we return - 100% yes. Thanks for a welcoming and pleasant week. It was clean, warm and cosy with everything we needed for our stay. The little garden is a real sun trap with beautiful views over the farm fields. Ideal for watching the birds and animals or stargazing. We found the owners friendly and thoughtful, all of which added up to a lovely holiday.

  • "Our short stay was very comfortable and restful overall."

We thought the description and information about the cottage was accurate and comprehensive, everything was provided for every eventuality. We were impressed with the cleanliness and the anti-virus measures. The farm activities were similar to the ones we are used to in this part of Dorset but for those unfamiliar such things might provided added interest, and bird watching Is good! The only things not up to scratch were the non-working fan and bathroom extractor- we wondered if that was an anti-covid device. Given the unusually hot and humid conditions they would have been useful but not critical to our comfort. We weren’t on holiday but Pines Farm is perfectly placed for all the attractions of West and North Yorkshire for those who are. We would happily recommend this property to anyone.

The surroundings are idyllic and it was fabulous to see the animals. The kitchen is very well equipped with everything you need, plus a double oven. The only negative we experienced was the double bed. It creaks a lot with the slightest movement and the mattress is very hard with creaking springs.

Loads of space and well furnished and equipped. Loved first morning when I opened my curtains to see a beautiful grey bullock gazing back at me from the barn! Road to access is very bumpy although attempts had been made to fill in potholes. Could do with a sign at the entrance as I thought we were driving into a field! Only real complaint would be that the beds are rather hard, which made sleeping tricky. Otherwise I would definitely recommend

Well equipped and comfortable. Road leading to property is very bumpy and unmade so was a bit of a downside, but understand that it is a working farm and to have it improved would be a big job. Watching the cows from several of the windows was a bit hit with my 2 year old grandson.

The owners of the property were so helpful, told us that there was a train from the next village. They went ahead to get someone to let us through the road closure, and let us follow them across the field. The property itself is spacious, is set in a peaceful location on a working farm. There is plenty of space so so you are not on top of each other. The kitchen is fabulous and a great space for family meals. We also discovered a cupboard with boardgames, a snakes and ladders tournament was a must. The cottage would not suit everyone, but if you like walks and peace, it's perfect. York is close by. The proprietor and her family were very welcoming and helpful and if we had not seen the animals we would not have known it was a working farm. We were concerned when we saw an airfield close by but again we noted nothing that would have caused any problems to users of the cottages. I would have no hesitation in recommending Pine Farm Cottages to anyone, young or elderly parties can easily access the premises and without a doubt we will return again.

We could not heard the farm noise at all. Holiday was excellent, our two year old loved the cows and tractors. Myself like the wildlife we saw. All of us enjoyed the beautiful very spacious accommodation and the lovely baked butterfly cakes that greeted us on arrival. In the cottage phone signal was up and down but this was not an issue possibly due to solar panels on the roof as outside it was fine.
