  • Mr Oxley

“A beautiful place to visit, for us a nice quiet location with breathtaking views down Sinclairs Bay with miles of walking for my three dogs, the accommodation was second to none in a quiet little fishing hamlet, we found fault will nothing and would return in a heartbeat.”

The property

A single storey detached property situated in the village of Keiss, eight miles from the Royal Burgh of Wick, the nearest town which boasts rail and airport links to Edinburgh and Glasgow.

Spacious and inviting, Greenbraes is perfect for two adults and children, or a set of friends wishing to return to a home away from home, after a day of sightseeing and so much more.

The accommodation comprises of a vestibule entrance where you can leave your coats and boots upon arrival, a modern bathroom and a cloakroom to introduce the cottage's quality interior.

Throughout the day, there is an abundance of places to relax and take in the tranquil surround, with the kitchen featuring views of the village, as well as a contemporary breakfast bar.

In the evenings, make the most of the serene outlook towards Noss Head Lighthouse from the beautiful dining area which is set-up for eight people or cosy up in front of the gas fire in the traditional lounge, enjoying the collection of sumptuous seating.

The musically inclined will be impressed by the piano tucked into the layout, so why not plan a social evening, throw open the French doors to bring the outside in, enjoy the books and games on offer, or even host a barbecue.

More of the location can be appreciated from the two bedrooms, with the first facing the front of the property looking out over the sea, and the second complete with twin beds, and a wonderful dual aspect.

Two gardens provide that chance to be at one with the destination, the calming waters form a one-of-a-kind backdrop to the enclosed garden; an area ideal for pets, with a two seater swing and furniture.

A stone’s throw away is a pretty working harbour and access from the property to Keiss sandy beach which extends approximately three miles, abundant with a variety of sea birds, waders and occasional seals.

The village itself boasts a pub and restaurant within easy walking distance, whilst Wick is only a 10 minute drive away and is joined by all the amenities, restaurants, shops, supermarkets and its very own whiskey distillery.

Close by is a local golf course, the Castle of Mey (The Queen Mother's Castle) and there are local ferry services to Orkney which has many archeological sites to visit.

A special cottage with views to hold every sunset and sunrise, a photographers dream.
